Filled Motul 3000 4T plus 20w40 . Will update after a few kms of usage. I didnt clean the strainer screen though(requires removal of the right side engine case). Will do that at about 800 kms.
Where in Bangalore you got that oil, pls provide the area and the shop name.

      It also controls rev limiter.

In ECO mode:the bike has a lot of low-end torque, the sixth gear can be shifted at 4000rpms only in this mode, without the bike feeling wrong.

In PWR mode:some good mid-range torque, fast pick-up like Zma but Top end is lost.

In GOD mode:well I am the boss,I shift it at 8500 rpms when I need to do some very quick 0-100kmph,bike shoots to 120kmph and does the 127kmph with ease.It then feels normal,no or less low end torque, punchy midrange, truckloads of top end power, revs till 10,000rpm with ease, rev limiter then ticks in.Nature is too much like the R15,only on a bit easier and comfortable side.

There is really some mode magic in this bike.

      At,68K,you get,
SJCS-Suzuki Jet Cooling System (advanced air cooled engine)
      6th gear-how many air-cooled 2V 150s have six cogs???
Gear indicator-I think only Suzuki bikes in India have it !!!
      Vibration reducing harness-Superb touring ability.
XTP-the technology emblazoned on the Bandit,Hayabusa,Bking, check them out in flesh to know.
Biggest metal Fuel tank in the 150cc category.

Do you still doubt that the Mode facility is nothing more than a Rpm shift indicator just because this is a 68K bike???? !!!!!!!

few of those features would also be found on the 1Lac+ R15
and most of those features would be found on the 12.5Lac HayaBusa or the 9.5lac Bandit.

ok i just replied from what i learnt bout this bike b4 i bought this ok let me check next time i take my bike on the high way bout the GODMODE, in eco/power i got a top speed of 115kmph i guess. .lemme see

                Dear Maestro,

My second bike which I still use is Suzuki Fiero 2000 model. It has covered 1,20,000 kms, still fine, giving a nice mileage of around 64 kml.

                Dear Abdul Khadar, Later.

arrey why u becoming so formal.....i toh just told you what i feel it was there.......but now as you say there are no SEPERATE sensors, then will have to ask the svc mech about it......he's the only guy who'll throw some light on this.....about the modes.....since there's a rev limiter put,the bikes speedo will not show anything beyond 147kmph....what i was talking was on road....with my weight on the bike......
Regarding high speeds....(the 127 one)something strange happened and thats why i was forced to do that.....and i do wear all the protective gears.....right from the helmet to riding jacket to gloves to knee pads to shoes......
and you were not wearing the mother of all gears HELMET that time, right ,when the accident happened.....ride safe and wear atleast a helmet......
these suzuki guys are awesome......they are the only people who provide bikes of 150cc category returning 60+mileage still people go for honda......
regarding the oil and spark plug thing i dont know much about it so wont comment on it.....

and yes we are here to make friends and share our views......so we'll be friends henceforth....

                  • Hi guys,

Got the owner manual.. In the Break In, they have put not to exceeded more than 5000 RPM. I thought it was 4000 for the first 800. Also below 7500 RPM up to 1600 kms...

                      Clanx,
it is very simple "just drive your gs150r within eco mode, dont let the eco lamp blink" its that simple.

After service got 51.2 kmpl mileage, Yet to hit reserve.

Filled two litters per trip meter got 102.4 kms and still waiting to hit reserve.

By the way got false reserve at 88.6 kms

All this happened on bad roads of k r puram and hectic banglore traffic.

                        • A new SUZUKian

                          Hi Guys,
Proud to be a SUZUKI GS 150 R owner and becoming part of this excellent thread. The knowledge and expertise expressed by many members in this thread is amazing. I appreciate all members for their time and valuable contribution in this forum. I made my decision to buy this mobike after going through most of this thread..... containing ....the arguments...claims...interludes....exchanges....al l of those were quite informative and valuable.

Bought ma bike in Sept 2010......done 1500 kms....completed 1st service in ABT, Nandanam. Currently facing following issues...
                          1. Self ignition occasionally does not work . Have reported this problem during ma 1st service........not solved by ABT...planning to go again one of these days to get it solved.
                          2. Occasional misfiring... not a major botheration though....still would like to get it solved......reported this in my 1st service....not solved.

The overall performance of the bike after the 1st service is good....I would give 4 out of 5 for this bike.

I was facing engine roughness issue before.......but, after I started using Shell Petrol, this problem had reduced to a large extent.....engine is much smoother. Currently ma bike is on SC Castrol engine oil......I bought & kept Gulf Pride 4T 20w40 ready and planning to change around 2k. I request one of you living in Chennai to let me know where I can get Gulf Pride 4T PLUS 20w40.....as I feel this oil would be better than the one without "PLUS".

So, thats it for the time being......happy to be a member of this forum....thanks to all of you

I beg to differ, from my ten years of riding experience(2strokes,multi-cylinders and most kind of bikes) ,I can clearly tell the bike responds differently per mode.

No speedometer on earth is foolproof and you will always have crosswinds, downstream, nose wind pattern playing with the actual Top speed of the bike.GS150R's rear wheel located sensor minimizes the difference to 5-7kmph at top speeds, while on most bikes the percentage of error is above 10kmph at top speeds.I have often clocked a constant 125-126kmph on a long cruise on National Highways, this speed comes at right tyre pressure and low air resistance, the true top speed is actually 119kmph here....it takes a second more than the Apache160RTR(fastest accelerating bike in the segment)to reach there in similar conditions but when it reaches it is 0.1kmph faster than RTR160s true 118.9kmph top speed.Top speed on the GS150R is achieved in the fifth gear. The sixth gear on the other hand is a cruise gear and you can cruise in this gear at a speedo indicated top speed of 122kmph which in actual would be 115kmph......which is 4kmph off the actual top speed.

Having said all that,in the 150cc air cooled 2V segment, this is the only bike that builds up such true top speed.

                            • Just calculated, got a mileage of 43km/lt. 360km done. LOT OF HESITATION IN THE MIDRANGE. IT JERKS ON PART THROTTLE AT 4 TO 4.5K RPM IN GEARS 3,4,5,6. ANYBODY WHO HAD THIS ISSUE AND RESOLVED IT PLEASE HELP..

                              • 43 mileage is less man. somthing you need to check. How old is your Gsr? I think whatever the condition, you shoud atleast get 50. I have covered 2200 kmts and i am getting 55 plus consistently, which includes 60% highway riding.
