  • Hi GS150R owners,

I am lukin 4 new bike.
After lot of consideration, I hav norrow down to Unicorn and GS150R.
But I m in big confusion b/w them

Did test ride on both bikes.

I can see lot of +ves in GS150R over Unicorn.

Better looks, 6speed, Toe n heel gear shifter, Fully digital speedo meter Super smooth engine etc..
Apart from this both r same.

But Unicorn is runing for years and already proved it value on the road. On the other hand GS has to prove it(new entrant).Basically I am lukin for a bike which can b used for 4-5 years.

So pls giv ur valuable suggestions.

Also I would like to hear from GS150 (Suzuki bike) owners about the service they provide in bangalore.

the workshop guys took some pictures of the rusted parts .they said they will send these pictures to gurgaon and then the replacement tank will arrive from there in a weeks time.i will probably get it replaced this week.

Suzuki dealers {at least in mumbai -malad} are bunch of @$$#0!$ and don't know how to properly store an otherwise excellent bike.
Hey u and imjoshee bought from the same showroom, right ? Then may be u can take imjoshee's advise and u can tell the showroom guys about him. u two can help each other... bcos u two bought from the same dealer and have to face same issue...
      All the best.

68740 is the on road price for GS150R if I take it from Aryan motors, near Domlur flyover, Bangalore.

                  What about other showrooms?

in the test ride did u find gsr breaking to be bad

                    i think its crap
which gave me a tough time but thank GOD for the discs
it did work like a drum thou
                    which really amazed me
                    didnt really seem a disk
dont know whether that bike was bad

                    • I did comment on the braking part for this bike, the one I bought did not have the braking system as efficient as I might have expected BUT the demo/test bike brakes were perfect so I took the gamble as the service man said it would be fine after first service (for what ever reason).........and yes it did improve specially the disc but I wuld still say the rear drum could have been better. I have seen better drum brakes than what GS has.......not that I mean this on is a dud but as I said could have been better.

So have you already narrowed down on the bike??
                        If no then read on:-

Well to be honest, you can very well go for GS.
As proving the potensial, Unicorn has acheived alot.
Mine is Sep 2004 model and is still in mint condition. Super smooth as ever. So even if you go for Uni, then trust me. In Longer run, you will never regret purchasing this bike.

Test ride both the bikes extensivly and then decide.

After seeing some posts in this thread, I became curious and checked my bike's fuel tank. And I was shocked to find that there was some rust near the opening (white surface). Isn't it common with all the bikes? Isn't it okay? Could someone tell me.... I'm new to bikes (have been riding bikes and scooters since 10+ yrs but GS is the 1st bike I've ever owned)

I'll show it to the mechanic in 2nd service.

                            • Maybe this problem is arising in salty weather cities. In any case, this should not happen at all, Suzuki should immediately rectify this problem from the ground, and not just by replacing the present rusty ones with another tank which are equally prone to rust.
