sir.. i hav seen min 4 in my company's one side of parkin lot only.. n almost 10 on road.. most of the pple r buyin it in the orange color..
it ll capture the market slowly as suzuki dint do great marketin n advertisin for it.. look at any bajaj bike ad or tak apache for example.. evry1 knows those bikes coz of good advertisements..
this is the only place where honda n suzuki fall behind TVS n BAJAJ even when they hav better products in store.

    • I have just bought the bike yesterday. And i have riding it for only for few kms(not yet rigistered) but as above said, i havent noticed any vibrations in 3.5k rpm range.
Even my brother(has more experience with riding the bike) hasnt noticed anything. But he told he felt the gear is little bit tight for his comfort.(he uses P180).

So i guess only few of the bike might be having the problem??

      thanks,

      • @Sakumart: Congratulations on getting the 150R. Now, if you could be kind enough to post a few pictures of your newest acquisition, that would really be great!

As for the 'tight gear shifts', I believe since the machine is new, you might be feeling so. After a few hundred kilometres and more importantly post the first service, everything would surely be as smooth as cheese..
        :)

I told the service person about it.i think they have done some ajustment
i am feeling it even more when going up as well as going down.In 5th gear (41 to 43 kmph).earlier it was just at 40+.When i asked them they said it happens when you suddenly drop the speed.i feel now that the bike before service ran well, even the sound has changed(not pleasing).i am not able to make them feel the difference. And with the statement that they have given we can not accept any engineering solution from them.
Hey all GS owners please try out 5th gear for the vibs if we all get the same because i am not sure about rpm or kmph in other gears.
It was much smoother when it was new.
The Rpm arrow dosnt remain steady when in neutral, is it normal?
Nope somethins wrong, maybe tuning, my vibs (I wont even call it vibs, resonance is the correct word) are exactly at 3500rpm for a second and the moment I pass the bike's back to its usuall smoothness......
And it does not matter at what gear the bike is its the rpm 3500 i feel the resonance, yes on 5th its less as compared to 3rd but ONLY at 3500, anyhow it very rare I drive at that rpm constsntly, so it does not bother me.
And I feel very strange that u say it was better before service, my bike is flying after first service, I have never enjoyed a bike that is so smooth at 85-90.....and finally RPM needle is dot constant at neutral.
Its strange you reporting these problems........I suggest try a different service center if possible and see if that helps.......

          • Could anyone please tell what are the disadvantages of parking bike in direct sunlight for days together apart from losing shine of the paint surfaces. Air pressure in my tyres is dropping considerably (eg:- from 25-26 psi to 19 or 20 psi).

            • The RPM needle should be steady at idling speed. At least, it should not dance up and down. If it is, then that might indicate the need for adjusting tappet clearance. If that is the case, it even justifies the roughness / sound from the engine.

Parking in Hot Sun does show its effect on the tyre pressure falling... it is very hot these days in Hyderabad and keep checking your tyre pressure every 2-3 days. Also, if it is happening to one tyre more than to the other then make sure your tyre/tube's valve pin is fine.

You forgot to mention petrol also evaporates in the sun!

Yes, the loss is substantial over a long duration.

Make sure that the fuel level is always above the half mark so that you would not loose much fuel by evaporation.

                  • A small update, did any one notice that there are hooks for helmet under the seat, you can use those for hanging the helmet and the seat acts as a lock for the helmet as well, small but another nifty feature.......

BTW completed 2000 on ODO few days back......current reading 2223.

i read it in the manual n checked it too.. but i found openin the seat, a tedious procedure to follow every tim... a good feature though.

                      • hi
                        i am new to xbhp {but not biking }
i just bought a black gsr ,overall i am impressed with the bike.i was confused between the unicorn and gs 150 first but now i am glad that i chose gs.

the thread is filled with positive comments and i completely agree with them. its just couple of {-?}points i want to add

1 i felt the gear shifter and rear brake lever to be at uneven height thus affecting
                        the overall riding stance.
2 the pillion rider sits on camel and it affects the center of gravity of the bike
making it relatively unstable especially at traffic signals.
3 my experience with local dealership is not that great yet.
4 the bike felt a bit lighter in the front ,not that big a deal.

i definitely would recommend this bike to future buyers.
