Mate,Originally posted by Shadowfax View PostSo anyways Im going for 2nd service today. Its 1503 km on odo.
Has anybody got suspension adjusted to Level 1 ? And felt difference ?
If you adjust your suspension to level 1, the jumps will be smoother, but when you hit a pothole the tyre might touch the mud guard. So IMHO it is better to stick to current level 3.

yep buddies the rear susps. at 1 are really gone scrap any bump or dump on the roads...The ppl will be really happy as we are doing social service by decreasing the awful speedbraker elevations
Might also get a donation from the public, get a bullet ( with free xtra fat pillon buddy gift) with susps. at 0 level and then....

of course the above is all nonsense

Nway Will try out 2 someday, but current 3 seems perfect

Oh buddy do try it out...top just me simply cracking upOriginally posted by Shadowfax View PostOk then its better to stick to the current setting.
I will try out other levels someday but not now.
If roads r good with no deep potholes, 1 ought be good
Btw i just see 3 as a suzuki compromise b/w comfort and cornering stability and its rightly the default
1 or 5 is just the way u wanna drive

Hi guys...
I am going through this thread since it was at 87 pages
...
I had some confusions etc etc.. and I took a test ride in june...then again i thought i would go to uni for reliability purposes... again I had lot of confusion because.. I think too much
I fell in love with the bike when I first rode it. Im short and thin... but then I thought the world is not just for "hunks"
.. geeks like me should have their fair share...
Whatever it is I made up my mind to ride a gs. Thats it. If I am being a fool let it be I dont care anymore. (Actually I am fed up with my mind for confusing me...
I dunno what I will do If I have to choose a girl...
)
I had booked my gs this week. at Aryan Auto, Airport Road Bangalore. the same 3k offer is going on. Will be getting the delivery of the bike this weekend.
Could someone tell me what are the checks I should run through during delivery and how to maintain my bike properly...

Hey bro...congrats....on choosing the GS...you have taken a good decision.... You will never regret it....the personality does not matter buddy....it is the passion for biking tha matters....
you are from namma bengaluru...??? 3K off is really good.... anyway which color have you choosen....??
first of all ask them to give a choice of atleast 3 bike to select from...the color you have choosen....then...
So some of the checks you have to do are....
1] Check for any dents...scratches....broken...or cracked parts...
2] Check for rusts in the Petrol tank...outside near the silencer...or for that matter any metal part....
3] Check the battery charge...I read that the battery is not charged when the bike is coming from the factory...
4] Take a good ride in the bike you have choosen from....and check the gears....engine noise...etc...along with the levers...brakes...etc..check for the warranty...
5] Check the registration....and other documents...
6] Main thing is do not hurry in the process...take your own time to check everything...atleast 1-2 hours...
the above are general things to check in any bike....I think other owners who have first hand experience can give more suggestions....
anyway congrats again...keep updating....and pics of course...

fuel tank screwed
guys.. i faced a weird situation.. one day, while cleaning my bike the paint at the fuel tank stripped off as sticker.. i use a very soft cloth to wipe my bike's metallic surfaces, so there was no chance of me ripping it off.. the worst thing is tht it dint came out as paint, it made a ripping sound and came out..
went to the dealer for replacement of the tank.. when i opened the fuel opening i found the tank was rusted from inside. so got the tank replaced under warranty.. it took 15 days for them(apple auto) to deliver the new tank to me..
well, the point is tht i am reading abt the rusted tank problems since the start.. looks like there was some problem with the whole assembly line.. so gs owners, check ur fuel tanks before it looses warranty..
also, i am still shocked at the paint ripping off the fuel tank... any explanations/suggestions from experienced bikers?I like to meditate a lot.. On my BIKE!

Pls somebody, a technical expert or knowledgeable person throw some light on gear ratios... I know they are different in different bikes. I asked mech engineer friend and he said top speed of GS is divided into 6 gears, unlike in other bikes its divided in 5 gears
. Gear rations for GS are on page 9-3 but I couldn't get meaning of that. I suggest we'll have discussion on this and lets compare them with similar capacity Unicorn, Cbz-x, etc. Would be helpful for newbies like me.

Hey Bro..fuel tank paint peeling off with a ripping sound.....

that's really shocking....
I never heard anything like that before....in any bike for that matter....I am really feeling bad....I mean when I read your post...i really felt the feeling inside me.....whatever you would have felt....
gosh it is a new bike man.....and how come the paint comes off...I thought the GS had a metallic paint....(like cars) so I thought it would be of very good quality....
but this is really shocking to hear man....really this issue should be brought to the suzuki people notice....
I think the GS really has a issue with the tank....the vendors who supply the tank have really some problems....
Bro I suggest you to lodge a complaint regarding this....as somebody had written that if you post a complaint...the suzuki people will call you regarding it...so please take the issue seriously....
It is good that the bike is under warranty...but what if it happens after the warranty is expired...it will be really bad situation....

Bro....as I was searching in net....I got some complaints online by people who have bought the GS....in consumer complaints...
One of them posted the details of Mr.Atul Gupta...he is the Vice President (Sales & marketing) of Suzuki in India...
One of the person have posted his contact number and mail id...not sure though how accurate it is....the email id is accurate....I am sure of that....
I have given it below....Well calling him would not be a good idea I suppose...he would be a busy person...and a big shot too.....
but surely you can mail him regarding this complaint and other issues faced.....
the details are below....
Just mail the details to him.....probably it will help....you find about him on net too...or in suzuki site....hope it helps....Last edited by Guru_007; 08-27-2009, 12:12 AM.
