    1. The rear view mirrors are no good. No matter how much you adjust them, still dont get a good view of who's coming behind you.
    2. Gear lever - Heal shifter of the gear lever is unusually tall ... it does give pain when you ride in traffic which would involve frequent shifts. And sometimes when you try shifting gear using your heal, the gear dont shift properly, it goes into mid neutral.
    3. Mileage - From what i have read here, abt 50 - 60% get a mileage of 50km/ltr. Whereas the rest get 40 or less than 40km/ltr. When i dropped my bike for 1st service i logged mileage not upto the mark as complaint. After the service my bike returned 50km/ltr for the 1st ltr of petrol filled. There after it returned 45 for the next 2 ltr's and now its presenlty returning 34km/ltr. I am simply overwhelmed by my bike's performance.
    4. Gear shifts - Even after the first service the bike's gear shift give out a loud thud noise. They gear box is definitely not smooth & good as the RX which i rode for a decade or the unicorn.

I was so happy and excited when i bought the bike. But the bubble didnt last too long. While looking for a new bike i discarded TVS apache because of its reliability & build quality issues but i am facing the same issues on a bike built with the so called Japanese technology.

PPl can say that the above mentioned problems are one off ... no they arent ... it simply isnt one off. About 50% of the owners here complian about the bike. Those rust pix, colour shade difference in orange bikes, headlight performance and many more ... are not the mark of a good bike rolled out by a firm like Suzuki. My excitment for the bike is slowly dying out. If these problems persist probably me and many others owners would start regretting the purchase of GS150R. I would'nt deem the GS as piece of junk but its an ok bike with nothin special and definitely not a keeper. If suzuki does not take any steps to address these problems I for one would definitely not recommend the GS for anybody in future. To be honest if am i get a good deal for my GS today I would not have any second thoughts abt letting her go.
+1 , the complainant has the right to voice whatever he feels is wrong. As per the post, the message has reached top brass of Suzuki motorcycles of India. I am sure they will sort out things on a war footing basis.

I suggest to current owners that they replace the parts in question under warranty and stop worrying. Replacement should happen fast as the issue has reached top most level.

    @Sagittarian: Thanks !!

Sorry buddy I disagree at few points. I found the rear view mirrors of most of the bikes I've ridden are same. And whats the point in complaining about gear shifter after bike is purchased ? Agree that 1-2-3 gears make sound but not everytime, only sometime. And GS is not the 1st bike in world to make gears sound....

Bro....I am not sure of the probs you mentioned above...as I have not rode the bike so much....sometimes i ride my friends GS...but as I been riding pulsar for 3 years....I do not find anything wrong with the GS....

Ya sure the rusting prob was always there.....in my friend's bike too..when inspected yesterday...found some rust in the fuel tank...and the chain cover....I don't know where else....he would check in detial tomorrow....in weekend....

Bro..I had been dreaming to buy the bike...next month....but now suddenly I have second thoughts....i do not know what to do....
I had really liked the bike....and now if I have to choose any other bike....I don't know what to do.....

Please, now onward nobody post their rusting photos. Its killing me.

Anyways we should thank Anil Patil for taking issue to Japan... I think Suzuki didn't seriously take India. As already they were with little presence in India, they wanted more profit in less money. If Suzuki really want to have success in India, they must wake up and take things seriously. Now issue is taken to head people, lets hope they will do something.

I got rust on both stands. Fortunately other parts are safe, even after once I took my bike half-sunk into river. Its right they haven't used the anti-rust solution before painting. IMO, they must replace or at least remove old paint and re-paint those metal parts by applying the anti-rust material.

Guru, u don't buy any bike until Suzuki comes out with solution.

                Guru,
I already spoke to Anil yesterday evening itself thanks to you as you had posted his number. He spoke to the same person I am currently interacting & he said that they had given him false information about something & that is when he decided to contact Suzuki Japan. The way the Suzuki guy is interacting with me is quite friendly to which I have no objection.

Regarding the rusting part,it is beacuse the company is not using anti-rust treatment on the bike before applying the paint which most of users here have said.I have already infromed the Suzuki India guys regarding this. As far as the coastal area is concerned,it cannot be linked to that beacuse I still own a Fiero Nov 2002 model done 88k kms & still running fine without a rusted part.I am nowadays riding that bike since I am fed up with GS & not feeling to ride it with so many problems.

I called up Suzuki Japan but today is a holiday & only the secutiry was there.Anyways Mr.Deepak Saxena from Delhi is coming down to Mumbai on monday 31-Aug-09 at Malad Suzuki to inspect my bike & change the rusted parts reported earlier. If any of the Mumbai members would like to come down & meet him you are most welcome. He will be there from morning 1000hrs till the evening.Alternately if you would like to reach me,just send me a PM & i will send you my contact details.

Lets hope for the best & see what is done to my bike on monday. Will post a review once I am done with it alongwith the pictures as to what they are doing.

Yes, no point in complaining abt the gear lever after pruchasing the bike. I was so taken by the bike's looks, Console finish, mileage and ride comfort. Knew that his would be a prob but felt the bike has more +ve's. Guess i was wrong abt the +ve's.

Agreed, GS not the first bike in the world to make gear sounds. But am i supposed to take this as a consolation even after coughing out 68k. My decade old RX with worn out clutch plates performed better even in the 1-2-3 gears.

Given the current state of complaints galore surrounding the GS, I wouldnt advice you to opt for it. Now that shadowfax and few others say that the info has reached the suzuki top brass, I would say wait for atleast a good 3 months to see some improvements (if at all anything happens) on the GS and then decide.

Agree. Rust has not relation with city. But I think replacing parts won't do justice. Whats asssurance that they won't again rust in future ? U have already changed tank 2-3 times, right ?

I think simply replacing rusted parts is not good idea. They will again rust in future. Suzuki should apply anti-rusting material. IMO, it will be ok if they keep existing parts, but if they re-paint those with the anti-rust coating, will be better.

                      • Ok... people are talking about so many rusting issues...
Got my bike from SC after second service today morning, the bike like butter smooth, gears are smoothest now... i shoud say now my bike is better than the one i took for test ride. Whatever the issues man... i love this bike and i'm completely satisfied.
I have little rust in my tank, the dealer only said that he will replace it, which I never asked for.
Crossed 100 today, the bike is rock solid and you never realize that you are in 3 figure speed unless until you look at the console. I think i'm lucky enough to get a better bike from the lot.

                        • OMG........ Was shocked to see the pics..... That guy was lucky to get all the amount refunded.....

Guys but still I would never give up on this bike.... I've been parking my GS in the rains(Chennai) so I'll check my bike today and see if I have rusts....

After the second service, the bike is better like butter.... The jerks have reduced to a considerable extent. Gear shifts are OK(,3,4,5,6 are gr8; 1 & 2 is not that smooth but does not bother me)..... 3000 done in the odo.

Guru.... I'd advise you to wait but not to give up on this bike... lets see how suzuki handles this issue.

It was heart breaking to see Vishal's pics...... We'll see what the thread Owner Sam has to say about this whether he's got any problem....

Yes mate,I have got my fuel tank replaced twice & this will be the third time I will be getting a new tank.I had written to Suzuki India that replacing the parts is not the solution to this problem & they should seriously consider this issue & I also asked them what I should do incase I face the same problem again after changing the parts,to which I am still to receive an answer. Will make sure I get the answer to that.

Lets see on monday what Mr.Deepak will do to my bike as I am going to wait there at the service centre & keep an eye on them.

suzuki india people wont do much. try contacting the japan suzuki and ask them to come up with a permanent solution. they may use anti rust paint and even repaint the existing bikes.

using media(tv news, papers etc) is a good idea. i think nokia also replaced bl-5c battery only after few cases were reported in news(they would have known the problem before hand itself though).
does anyone have contact with some good news paper to show all this.?

i think before fixing the bike you should ask some media person to make a story with ur bike's rusting problem and show it on the paper.
