Have you guys got teflon coating done for the bike ??
i got one free servicing coupon with the teflon coating.
anyway on the back of the coupon it says no need to apply wax if teflon coating is done. washing is enough

and about the battery charging, i'm going tomorrow evening. will i damage the battery if i keep trying to press the electric start now and then ??( to see if battery is charging atleast while riding)
almost everytime the display just goes off(very rarely it starts)
using kick for now

Hey buddy, I did not have this problem with GS but with my old Nova 115, it was always there after service. The 'authorized ' kinetic SC mechanics always messed up battery when restoring the buzzer sound (also lasts only for a week).Originally posted by thefalcon View PostHave you guys got teflon coating done for the bike ??

The battery is never charging, its only some charge that remains and slightly increases (upon no usage), that's giving at least an initial life to console. If my engg. theory
(2 yrs back) is to be applied here, Yep it CAN cause permanent damage to lead electrodes upon deep discharge...which is not ur case
My Nova went through 4 visits to SC in a week, due to this recurring issue.
Finally they did complete rewiring (2 days). Next month same prob. Then it was the alternator is gone kaput
(wrong wiring and load
)...The following years changed Exide battery twice. Finally with buzzer removed and rewiring at a local activa mechanic
, things became alright and that exide battery lasted 3 yrs to this date
Dunno about the teflon + wax mix shot

Anybody wants to convert front lights to DC ? Those flickering lights make me feel Im riding "ill & sick Terminator"
Im desperate to convert them to DC. Like FZ has. Its the DC only right ? Also I want to change battery and will replace bulb with higher capacity one. Will it void warranty ? or shall I wait for 2 years ?6 Speed Cruising >>--->>--->> Flying In Heaven

Yes,it will void warranty.i think you should wait for 2 years before you change the battery.you can change the battery if you don't care about the warranty.
I reported to my SC that it's very hard to ride at night with the current headlights.so he told me to use bulb with low power which gives more light but he warned that the life of the bulb will be short.

There are many more things to keep in mind while riding on the highways.I had a document with me which I need to find.As soon as I find it,I will upload it here.

If you are riding on the highway at night and you decide to stop the bike to take a piss do it near a populated area where people can see you
what i mean is DO NOT STOP in a desolute spot .

Ohh I knew it... will it void warranty of whole bike or just for the electrical items ?? I think warranty also includes free services.. they will also affect ?Originally posted by AnoopGeorge View PostYes,it will void warranty.i think you should wait for 2 years before you change the battery.you can change the battery if you don't care about the warranty.

hi mathewOriginally posted by mathewsyriac View PostHi!!!
If anyone can suggest the best petrol for this bike if would be grateful..
In the manual it is mentioned that the recommended petrol is octane 91..
I would like to know the various brands with the octane#
Indian oil,
Xtra premium, bla bla bla etc.....
as discussed with you earlier, Shell ordinary unleaded & super unleaded are both 91 octane only.. the only difference is the additive they add to super unleaded which they claim improves mileage..
So you can safely use shell unleaded ..i use shell unleaded only.. but when i was filling yesterday they gave me shock saying tht the prices have been increased by Rs. 2/ litre.. translating approximately a difference of Rs. 4 / litre when compared to PSU bunk petrol.. having second thoughts of using the same now..
anyway all the unleaded sold in PSU bunks are 87 octane and their branded fuels are 91 octane or higher...

Are you sure Shell Super is also 91 octane? I thought it was somewhere close to Speed 97 octane?Originally posted by dhiwakar View Posthi mathew
