About HID, ask this on "Let There Be Light" thread. Pune xBhpians will help u out... NV, Inder are cool buddies.. contact them.

Hey guys, I had been on tour to places called Varandha ghat and Shivatharghlal on Sunday. Of course on my GSR. Its heaven guys..... and touring on GSR multiplies the pleasure. I will post pics as soon as I get time.
You can get the polish at any decent garage. If you can't find one anywhere, I'll get one for you, and will give it when I come to Kothrud suzuki. You can apply it yourself, no need to go to SC. In fact, once you start applying it, all you will need is 1/2 bucket of water, around 30 mins and that polish to shine the bike once in 2-3 weeks, that's it. I was maintaining my green Caliber115 with it. When I took it for selling, the buyer asked whether it was newly painted On gray, the effect *may* not be as dramatic, but on other colors, the effect will certainly be noticable.

I'll PM Inder and NV, thanks for the suggestion. And do post your travelog and pics, I may go there next weekend

@sharshas: Suzuki is not willing to share the wiring diagram. I tried from Kothrud as well as Swargate suzuki SC. Maybe others who got a better rappo with the mechs can try.

        • The SC guys in Pune are quite protective of their stuff. Why don't you do this community service Sarvajit? That'd be very helpful

I saw it on a big board when I went to the Suzuki showroom to pick up that bike for my Dad's friend. I'll surely do it if I go with him for his 1st Service!

Ok thanks for the info. Any idea about this Formula 1 wax ? I mean where can we get in pune ? Website provided by sharshas shows three products-

                Formula 1 Pearl GloTM
                Formula 1 Carnauba Wax
                Formula 1 Instant Detailer

which one of these should be used with bikes ? (GS has metallic paint right ?)

                • Hi Shadowfax,
i think Formula 1 Carnuaba wax can be safely used on bikes, i bought ArmourAll polish (the shop owner told me its a superior brand...dunno). But the reason i bought it, is bcoz its Shampoo cum wax polish............you just have to mixed a few caps in water and use it to wash your bike.......I haven't tried as yet but will keep you informed about its performance......Whether i have been duped or whether its really superior

                  • How much for the ArmourAll polish?

The Wash &Wax Polish cost me 350 bucks which is the correct price for 300ml/500ml (i don't remember now )...i had checked in xbhp forum and had read that if you got it for below 300 bucks then it was probably a fake

                      • Hey dearest GS buddies Its a gr8 coincidence .

Today found out an unopened " Iftex - Beauty Parlour Surface Polish " bottle 2yrs old. Dad had bought for car, but misplaced it. And U guys are debating about polish here

Nway used it today. Its like cold yellow custard (maybe because its expiry is Jan 09). No water required. Just rub on whatever for shine and protection.

After testing on rear mudguard, found it safe, and have applied it all over bike body after rain wash .
The bike is now shining (plastic + tank + chrome) and is extremely smooth to touch.
                        Its 350ml - Rs. 249 (07)

Dunno how to judge quality, but seems to do something. Btw this " surface polish " is ___ based ???

Superior brand.... rubbish! Bought their Wax & Polish for some 400 bux couple months ago, and its below par. Dunno about their Wash & Wax though, but I'm not gonna touch it. F1 Wash and Wax and Turtle Wax polish works for me. Cheaper and much better.

                          • I prefer Formula 1 wax polish, i have seen it and found it to be superior quality, and makes bike brand new one atleast for 2 months, then again apply it. No water required, just rub it over the surface in circular shape, and leave it for a while and clear it off with the soft cloth, then the magic.. taa daa... bike as new as new one

                            • Hey guys....welll all seem to be bent on making the GS shine....
                              I thought I may well add my 50 cents...(like Amit says )
I have been using a wax polish called MOTOMAX....it is from the company PIDILITE...which produces fevicol...
I found it very good...I have been using it for past 8 months....well I think it will be available in any Car Decors showroom....
I had bought it in a Auto Expo..it cost 200 bucks...400 ml I suppose...and a single box has lot of wax and can be used for long time.....
Well guys main thing is if anybody is as lazy as me...it will be difficult to apply regularly....

                              • I had given my Bike for Washing a couple of Months ago and had also got it polished from them. They used a Polish from Jopasu Company. Dunno how good that is. The Bike sure was shining and looking new.
While shopping for accessories for my Car, i have seen Formula 1 Wax Polish in almost all the Car Accesories Shop. Planning to get one soon.
I was a bit apprehensive of applying the Polish myself as i was not sure if there is any specific way or method to be followed while applying it. Didn't want to cause any Harm or Damage to my Bike or Car.
