    1. You need to connect the headlight directly to battery. No need to do any rewinding etc, and there is no one in Pune that I know who can do such rewinding job reliably.
    2. Depends on your luck. Buy a 35W AC 4300k HID Bi-xenon, and don't buy the cheapest one available. Little extra money will get you a lot of good quality. Buy off ebay or aliexpress, as local shops will mostly have bling blue 8000k bulbs.
    3. No. I didn't use projector lens, I used HID directly, and the headlight can be lowered a lot so that it doesn't affect the drivers in opposite lane.
    4. HID Kit: 1500/2000Rs. Installation 300-400Rs. Peace of mind: Priceless.

    I changed my battery after about 4 years of HID use. I made sure NEVER to use starter when the HIDs were on.
    1. Bike is in warranty (just 11 months & 14k ODO) so should tell them to replace entire engine.
    2. Shall I bear the cost and get the things done right from outside as early as possible.

      Just a query. The rear tyre of our GS150r is a 18incher one. Can we get a 17incher one in the same 110/90 specs.

        I took a test ride of the new Gxr man of man the bike is super smooth. I had unicorn earlier but this bike is super cool and soft in every manner nothing like honda. For those 2 km on the bike I really enjoyed as the owner gave me the keys and insisted that I should take a test ride of this bike.
        The bike in my words would be a silent beast on the road. Such kind of machines I really love which are silent and should go like water with any problems.
        Well friends tell me this what is the current fe of your machines give, why I am asking because the guy at the showroom told me when I asked him about the fe he says the bike returns somewhere above 50+ is this true.
        But this bike will do wonders on the Indian roads. Well waiting for any xbhp member to buy this bike and give his full review of this lovely machine .

            17 mm.

            If you have damaged the threads, then it is best to replace the "strainer cup/plate" and drain nut as an assembly. If you are just asking to buy a spanner to remove it, use a good 17 mm hex-socket or a 12-point ring spanner. Hex or 6-points are always favorable since they don't round/damage a nut/bolt that easily - Apart from the axle nut, oil drain plug is one of the toughest nuts in GS and can tolerate a 12-point socket/ring set-up. Sadly the threads on the strainer cup are very soft (aluminum?).

              may need the strainer plate assembly or drain nut replacement as it is damaged.

              Can any one recall service charge levied by ASC for valve clearance adjustment?

                  its time for oil change..kindly suggest shell or motul..currently using castrol brand..the engine smoothness is gone after 1000k.

                  also suggest me a solution for chain getting loose after a while..

                    If you can afford it, go for Motul. Its the best you can get in india. With regards to the chain loosening, how old is your chain?? Maybe its reached the end of its life and its time for a chain and sprocket kit replacement. If not get it properly luubricated. The stock Chain on my unicorn is close to 20k kms old and has no problem yet. I get it tightened every 1000-1200kms.

                      chain is around 17k kms..the problem arises around every 1000kms.. where do i get motul oils in chennai..kindly suggest semi synthetic or mineral..currently running on castrol ss

                          Isn't 500KM a bit too early?

                          I thought tightening and lubricating it during the periodic service itself would be enough (a 2000KM interval).

                            Workshop manual is not required for doing oil/oil filter change, strainer cleaning, air filter change, adjusting and cleaning rear drum brake, adjusting chain, tappet adjustment (if one knows the gap in mm), bleeding front brake, adjusting clutch free play, etc. These are similar in all motorcycles.

                            Even for the above work, workshop manual gives us some tips like where exactly to apply grease, how to prevent damaging a part, etc .. don't miss the troubleshooting section at the end.

                            It is preferable to have it for tuning the carb (it gives the CO values, resistance values for throttle position sensor, etc or one can always ask Punarvasu - where is he ?), overhauling front-end suspension and other hardcore work.

                                Having a service manual can definitely help me to take care of maintenence and repair and some times even better than service centers.
                                But I just have to be the person who wouldn't mind getting hands dirty and finds it amusing and enjoyable to DIY.

                                For me doing repairs and maintenence by myself helps me to reset stress, have some thing exciting on a weekend to completely focus on some thing different than the routine boredom and stress of business I handle during weekdays. I have a 5 year old buddy who is so curious for his age and helps me with repairs[emoji3] . He knows about all the tools I have and he know how a engine works etc. He does have great fun and lot of things for his young hungry curious mind to munch on and keep him exploring. See its more than just repairs, it's a great hobby and it's fun[emoji3].

                                As for the Chain I definitely suggest 500 km intervals. This will help you to have smooth enjoyable ride much better performance etc.

                                I have used a chain for 35000 km when I had more time to maintain it in good old bachelor days. I'm a die hard old schooler who loves molten hard grease and roller chains and according to me nothing beats it. Used to do this hot grease method whenever feels like it is due. And regular application of grease in around 500 km. And much often if chain gets drenched in muddy water in rainy season. 500 km is way to go and you can keep an oil can in garage and it is better to prefer much convenient oil method which I does nowadays.
