    1. Pick up is almost nil. Sometimes overtaking I have to downshift and pull forward. This happens when the pillion rider is there.
    2. If you ride this bike in the range of 80 kmph - 100 kmph, you can expect only a mileage of 35-40 km/l.
    3. I never got 70 or 60 km/l as people claim on this forum even after riding in the 60-75 kmph range.
    4. Sitting comfort is not that good. I like the Pulsar seating position/posture.
    5. Service centres are pathetic. Areas where one dealer is there, they treat you bad.
    6. Servicing is not up-to-the mark.
    7. With pillion rider, handling is not that great like Pulsars/Apache.
    8. Illumination is pathetic, can't see properly in dark (needed projector lamps or something)

    Likes:
    1. Almost vibe-less even in 100 kmph
    2. Powerful horn

Overall, please don't buy this bike. There are lot better bikes in market now. Stay away from suzuki.
Better bikes for this price are Apache, PUlsar 180/220. You get the same mileage there as well.

I really want to put up my views after reading the above post.

GS150R is a very good bike and I will surely rate it as the best 150CC Commuter/tourer because of the very low maintenance costs.
Mileage is best in the 150CC category. I personally get 55+ driving in the 70KMPH mark.
I have used my friend Pulsar 180 for around 6 months and I know how bad the comfort is when compared to GS.
Yes Pick-up is bad.. Even a 87cc scooty will overtake you when the signal goes green. My requirement is not to race from one signal to another.
I did only 4 free services at the service center and performed the rest myself / local mechanic. So could not comment on servicing at SC. When I ask for any spares, they are readily available from the SC.
Bike could be converted to a full DC. There are many in the forum who has completed it. I find it "OK" for daily commuting in Chennai city roads.

I will go again for a GS150R if I get a requirement to get next bike.

      Dear deemash,
I bought my GS150r back in March 2012 after a long wait of almost 2 years. Its not the fastest or most comfortable or most fuel efficient bike available. Still, I would rate it 4 out of 5. Here's why:

      1. True. With a pillion rider, the bike turns snail for some unfathomable reason. But that doesn't hold true when riding solo. My bike is faster than any 150cc bike I've ridden except R15 & CBR150r. Just last week I touched 128 kmph on it.

      2. True, and that is more than good in my opinion. A bulky 150cc being thrashed at speeds even 500cc REs are scared of returning 40 kmpl is nothing less than commendable.

      3. Depends completely on the riding style and conditions. Ride it sanely and it will easily return 50+. Ain't that enough? Hero Splendor iSmart claims 102 kmpl but returns 56 in real life.

      4. Again I agree to some extent. Seat isn't as comfy as I would've liked. In fact I got a 1-inch think piece of foam pasted underneath the seat cover. But it is still a hell lot better than wooden planks pasted on Pulsars.

      5. Totally agree

      6. Same point

      7. Can't say much. I ride solo.

      8. True. This bike is night blind. And the high beam aims right up the flying bat's ass.

      My bike:
Absolutely vibe-free till 128kmph, returns 45 kmpl when ridden hard and 50+ with sane riding.

Done 22000 kms in 3 years, so not ridden a lot and not cared for at all. I don't even remember when I got it serviced last.

I even did more than 500kms in a day once only to find less than 200ml of engine oil in it the next day. Still no problem at all.

Survived a collision with an Alto with a twisted handle and a leaked front suspension. Broke Alto's front bumper, grill and headlight. 😇

In all, a truly reliable bike with butter smooth and frugal engine and a never-say-die attitude.

          MY ANSWERS IN BOLD

          1. Pick up is almost nil. Sometimes overtaking I have to downshift and pull forward. This happens when the pillion rider is there.
Yes that is due to tall gearing, dont expect sudden pickup when in fourth or fifth gear with pillon. Had to down shift

          2. If you ride this bike in the range of 80 kmph - 100 kmph, you can expect only a mileage of 35-40 km/l.
Yes that is applicable to all bikes. 80 KMPH - 40 KMPL; 60 KMPH 50 KMPL:

          3. I never got 70 or 60 km/l as people claim on this forum even after riding in the 60-75 kmph range.
No 150 CC Bike will give you 70 KMPL even if you ride 50 KMPH

          4. Sitting comfort is not that good. I like the Pulsar seating position/posture.
I am 5.9. I find Sitting comfort good. Depends upon the rider

          5. Service centres are pathetic. Areas where one dealer is there, they treat you bad.
Not all Service Centres. My current service centre is good. Till date no complaints

          6. Servicing is not up-to-the mark.
Not all Service Centres. My current service centre is good. Till date no complaints

          7. With pillion rider, handling is not that great like Pulsars/Apache.
Handling is great. Again Depending upon the rider

          8. Illumination is pathetic, can't see properly in dark (needed projector lamps or something)
          Headlight is not bright. Agreed

Silky Smooth Engine with zero vibes

          2. Powerful horn
          Yes due to dual horn

Overall, please don't buy this bike. There are lot better bikes in market now. Stay away from suzuki.

The best bike in India. You can read my review here. http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...-months-4.html . Clocked 1,21,000 KMS till date. Only regular servicing. Gives 45 KMPL @ 60 KMPH. 35 KMPH @ 95 KMPH.
Engine untouched. Very badly marketed by Suzuki. A rear disc, DC Electricals, slightly better styling would have made it the best bike. Finally the Pulsar 200 AS is here with all the requirements. Only missing is the Gear Indicator and a bigger fuel tank.

Thanks. One of the most underrated bikes in India. Suzuki reliability is one of the best if maintained regularly. Ask few of those Suzuki Fiero Owners. I saw another bike in service centre clocked 1,55,000 KMS. Managed to locate the photo. Another bike was Inazuma. Had the potential to sell in good numbers. But another disaster by Suzuki. Every year they just give statement to increase market share. Currently riding high on Gixxer. Let's see how long this will last. With the latest pulsar breed, it will be tough time for Suzuki.

Test it on highways with constant 50 km/hr speed & constant throttle opening, you might very well get it.

The images of the HID in operation. (WA12 &WA13)
The two other pictures are of LED bars installed.(WA14&15).
The intention is to fit LED bars during long drives and HID for local rides
Those lights installed on my friends bike, but I have exactly similar set yet to install when I come there

I just saw the document you provided and searched "AIS-010" in google. It gave me many relevant results. FYI.

It's the guideline given to auto manufacturer & hence we conveniently "assume" 4300K is road legal even with after market parts.
