This sound is from the chain and sprocket but cannot find out the source. So, some mechanics are replacing the chain with ROLON. The reports are not negative but have to wait to get the exact results. Anyhow, it is equally good or slightly better than the stock one.

engine probs....
I facing engine problem.when ever bike passes 30 to 35 k mph..there is strange noise from the engine like bearing sound(similar to timber cutting at saw mill at low intensity) the sense is that the bearing over rotates..something like that..hope you people got the point
.Now what can be the reason for it i showed it to the svc and they say that is normal and not a prob..but earlier i did not faced the same.......
@vishnu......is the rollon chain sprocket is universal fit or specific to bike model and cc

very true. I have to tighten my again atleast once a month. About the weird noise it makes when the chain is tight, i thought it was due to uneven sprocket teeth. It seems i was wrong. Anyway when i visit a two wheeler accessories shop, they say that they dont keep gs150 parts. So it possible that any rolon chain set for a 150cc bike will fit on our bike? Or do we have to mention anything specific like number of teeths on front and rear sprocket. RajOriginally posted by vishnukmd View PostThe stock chain is making a lot of problems like very frequent stretching etc. The strange metallic hitting sound we hear even if the chain is properly tightened is remaining a miracle as the false reserve of our bike. This is why I asked to try ROLON chain.
If it is not available in the workshop, buy from any two wheeler accessory shop.

It is not a universal chain but designed for GS. The shops are not stocking it because the number of GSs on road is less.
Most of the authorized service centers are using this chain to replace the stock one. Are you sure that it is not available in sc?

Hello Friends
I brought two things for my bike
1. Mileage testing CAN (Rs 100/)
2. Roots Security system( RS 950/)
Below i have attached the Images

Mileage Test
Just i made a mileage test on my GS, here is the Results
As in the below pictures i took about 100ml of petrol, for 100ml of petrol My GS clocked 6.7km (Trip meter A)
Note:
1. i made this test on my village road which has lots of heavy bends so i have to down shift the gears frequently, even though i managed to engage all the Gears
2. Before connecting the Test CAN, i dried the carburetor until the engine dies off completely
3. The test is made after the second service, now the ODO clocked 4.6k

I too am using this kind of security system from XENOS from the first week of buying my bike and it is effective.
But the remote start facility may make unexpected problems. If that key is pressed, the bike will start and, if in gear, move forward.
So, either disconnect it or be very careful.
And congratulations for the mileage your bike gets.

I am yet to confirm it with my sc. I will do it today. Thanks, Raj.Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostIt is not a universal chain but designed for GS. The shops are not stocking it because the number of GSs on road is less.

milage kings....
congrats Vishnu and firegun for that wonderful mileage figures....."owners pride neighbors envy"

Could you throw some light on your driving style...like how much speed you go in each gear, accelaration stuff etc.....not but the least your carburator settings if possible...or any other worth mentioning things which are crucial in good mileage.....

How can the engine of GS150R start in gear with the clutch engaged ???Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostBut the remote start facility may make unexpected problems. If that key is pressed, the bike will start and, if in gear, move forward.
That points toward a 67 kmpl from a GS150R.............nicely ridden.Originally posted by firegun View PostAs in the below pictures i took about 100ml of petrol, for 100ml of petrol My GS clocked 6.7km (Trip meter A)Hell's Angel
