Just voted sirOriginally posted by Hoodibaba View PostHi my fellow Suzukians. I purchased Suzuki GS 150 last September and this year in April I did 5630 kms. solo ride from Delhi to Kolkata (NH 2) to Siliguri to Bhutan to Sikkim and back to Delhi (via East West Highway along the Nepal Border). Earlier I have done Rann of Kutch (4000+ kms) and Ladakh (both solo) despite my old age (CURRENTLY I AM 57 YEARS OLD) besides several rides in Himalayan region. Now I have entered Wanderer of the Year 2013 contest and need your valued votes. I AM SURE YOU WOULD ALSO LIKE A Suzukian (from amongst you) TO WIN THIS CONTEST. So please vote for me on http://boty.xbhp.com/entries/detail/222.html
and also get votes of your near and dear ones and friend circle so that I reach the Dais on the D.Day. I need hundreds of votes to win.
to complete the formality.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Finally yesterday afternoon, I have booked black beauty at Jain Suzuki, Pallavaram, Chennai for Rs. 76,200. Thanks Srinivasan for informed me about the price which he bought at the same showroom last week in Chennai. I bargained for this price against the initial quotation of Rs 77,400 with out any extra accessories.
When I entered into the showroom at 3.00 PM yesterday, I met a sales agent. He said that today's price is Rs 78,200. I informed him that I have the quotation for Rs. 77,400. In return he said that the prices has been slightly increased last week. See how sales person make customer fool. I simply told that I will deal with the sales agent from whom I had received the quotation. The the actual sales agent came and I bargained for Rs. 76,200, and he denied initially and finally accepted.
Yesterday checked the price in Suzuki website and I found it is Rs. 77,302 in Chennai. But I purchased the bike Rs.1,102 lesser when compared with website price and Rs. 2000 lesser when compared with the onroad price where most of the showrooms inform to the customers.
There seems to be lot of differences in the prices for different customers. This is one which is common everywhere in every department that people will get lesser price when they bargained. I am sure even if I bargained for lesser price, they may be accept. But I am not willing to go for another negotition. See how most of the showrooms gained profit.
The price includes bike price, 1 year bike insurance (ICICI) and life time road tax.
I gave them a cheque, 5 passport size photos and gas cylinder receipt for address proof. I informed them that I will take the bike on coming Friday (August 23rd), even though registration will be on coming wednesday.
Also they charged for Rs 500 for Affidavit. I dont know why. But I said ok for that.
Then the Bike selection process started. I went to the warehouse of that showroom to select the machine. In the warehouse, there are 4 black color and 1 orange and 1 white color bike are available. First I closely look at one black and asked the person there to bring the machine out of warehouse to check in the bright sunlight. Found oil leakage in one bike and finally selected another black one.
Here what I have checked.
1. Manufacturing year (Checked the graphics, GS150R sticker is not pasted in the side panel, its been pasted under the seat. So its 2013 model).
2. Tyre Brand (No choice of selecting another brand. All the four black bike is having MRF tyres.)
3. Checked for any scratches and any rust issue since its raining here.
4. Checked all side panel and back panels.
5. Found seat cover is teared and ask them to change it immediately. They changed the seat by taking a seat from another new bike.
I totally satisfied with one bike and asked them to noted down my name above the seat for further references.
I noted down the frame number for cross verification at the time of delivery.
I didn't ask them for test ride of the selected bike as this thought didn't came to my mind on that time.
I Thank every member of this thread to boost my confidence and took my decision towards GS150R. With out this active forum, surely I will buy another bike.
Surely I will share my bike photo once the registration formalities has been finished.
I am eagerly waiting to bring home the black GS150R the coming Friday.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Hello Friends, Myself Gagan from Delhi. I have some doubt in my mind .. please clear the same.
1) I am in process of finalizing one bike for me , early though of buying scooter (which may be use by my wifey.. but she refused and she want to use my car
.. occasionally - leave this hehehe).
2) Also i am 6.3"with weight is aroun 95kg tall my daily commuting is around 50 km in Delhi Traffic.
3) Now earlier I was in process to buy 125cc bike - stunner which is around 62000 rs (on road) , after reading many reviews for this bike.. i shifted to Ignitor which is around 68000 rs on road.
4) Now .. i am thinking that.. if i have to shed near about 70,000 rs for 125cc, why dont i go for 150cc bike.
5) Then I concentrated towards two bike Unicorn (72000 rs on road) and GS150R (71500 Rs on road).
6) In Delhi both bike is not easily visible means ppls not buying these bike (new 2013 models) - reason best know to them
7) I made promise to my wifey this time I will stick to three years to my new bike...
8) Now please suggest from the above two bike which one to go for.. a) Unicorn or b) Suzuki GS150r
Please provide brief supporting answer to your suggestion, by keeping every requirement in mind.
Thanks
