Yes Ashwanth, my bikes engine is smoothening out as its approaching 3k kms and 3rd service. An oil change during 3rd service should do the job.

pictures... I will try to get some today... going to the showroom now.
ganesh, a checklist for PDI would be very helpful. Also, wanted to know whether there is any other service centre other than Essco Motors?

Hai again, bro, am not much of bike expert...This is my second post only in this form although i have been reading other post for almost a year. From my experience i would recommend that you ensure that the clutch is working smooth, and without rust. take special care to check the inside of the petrol tanks for rust as i have heard many saying that. i would recommend that you take with you a friend mechanic to ensure that there are no flaws.

The only authorized Suzuki service center in trivandrum is essco. The next nearest one is in kollam. I am still searching for local mechanics who can provide a decent service. Will let you know if/when i find one. Then again, the warranty is for 2 years so giving the bike outside will void it. If you have anyone you know in the service center, entrust the bike only to him and ask him to take good care of your bike. If you find anything inappropriate with the bike or the service, its better to consult with a local mechanic coz, in ma experience if you don't know what is wrong with your bike (specifically), the SVC wont do anything. They would just provide a temporary solution for the prob. Take care..sorry that i count be of much help...

this is the older model of GS and not the latest one..be careful, make sure that you get the 2013 model with the Black Grab rail and te GS150r sticker must be in the side box and not in the back panel, go to suzuki motorcycle india website and check it out for more details.

I think the new model has no change, technically. And my dad loved this model....

Thats true man... its the 2012 model and not 2013.

for the 2013 model, the sticker "GS150" comes on the side cover. Also i think the pillion handle bar comes only in black color for all three variants of the bike. The stickers are different as well.

check the below url which have more clear pics than suzuki official site.

As long as technical things remain the same, I have no qualms... in fact, me and my father both prefer the older model... just to say... personal tastes...

Bro, this is an old bike. It has been there since last august (2012)! My bike is from the same shipment. definitely has been there since last august. I visit the SVC atleast once every two weeks (its very close to my house). So my suggestion would be to go for the newer model, sure the changes are just with the stickers and the black grabrail. But this bike has been there in the SVC for too long so hasn't been used for quite a long time. The chances of it getting defects are high. i recommend that you go for a newer one! Take care...!
and Welcome to Trivandrum bro

/QUOTE]

Hi,

This is the older model of GS. There has been a change to the stickering and other superficial changes made. nothing has changed technically. However, this also means that the bike had been manufactured a year ago and had been lying idle somewhere rusting away (results in problems like what Ganesh faced). You need to be careful. I would suggest that you go back to the Showroom and ask them for a 2013 manufactured bike and not a 2012 manufactured bike.
Regards,

ofcrse it is personal tastes... but the fact is that if you wanna sell this bike, u cannot say its a 2013 bike...the chassis will be 2012 built...so the price will go down than what you are expecting... and the chances that there will be minor complaints / rusted parts are more...

if you really think this is the one for you,.. go ahead..

K. Just said. I really love my GS alot but due to the probs i faced, there were even times when i thought of selling my new gs. SVC guys dont give a damn about my probs. So i had a really tough time with my gs. but now rectifying the probs one by one (friend mechanic who can repair basic probs). If you found no problem with it then go ahead. jst be extra cautious coz it is old. That single bike has been at the service center for an year at least. Wishing you all the best bro. Take care. Pardon me if i have offended you

Bro,

An advice, just check whether your showroom has a separate TEST RIDE VEHICLE. In most of the outlets the display piece is used as test vehicle. I personally test rode the one of bike in blore. These guys handle it very roughly. as i was young the sales boy did wheelie and stoppie to impress me when i asked me about the balance of vehicle.
These bike might have been ridden more than 100 kms, a very critical break in period. So later you might face mileage issues.

Even i picked up a GS manufactured 1 year prior to delivery, but brand new piece from godown.
Dont worry suzuki is actually very liberal with replacement . i myself got my tank, visor, from cowl changed for various issues i faced. Now bike is rock solid with 55 kmpl mileage.
