    4. Number Plate stickering

I have calculated the prices for the above. Prices of above accessories that is printed in the quotations are seat cover, tank cover (Rs. 300), Hand Gripper (Rs. 85), Number Plates Front and Rear (Rs 250 -- This is too high), Number Plate Stickering (Rs. 100), Fitting Charges (Rs. 250). Total offered accessories comes around Rs. 985.

I am planning to ask Teflon Coating (Rs. 350) in addition to above freebies. Lets hope, dealer will accept. Please let me know whether this is worth?

Did Suzuki Dealers offers AMC extended for 5 years like Honda is doing? If any one did AMC, share your experience.

Yes, this is one thing I am concerned a bit. Anyway lets hope I will get spares easily in future.

    I am truly satisfied now.

    Thanks.

    Sorry for the late reply.
Number plate set- it comes default with the bike. Its not like Honda.
You will get Number plates, cross bar and saree guard with the bike no extra charges. Roonwal suzuki will say that he will provide you a Suzuki branded number plates, with "Suzuki" embrossed on the number plate.
Number plate sticking is around 50 to 60Rs and not more than that.
    What is fitting charges?

I don't have the AMC experience

      Hi Madhan,

Congrats for the new bike and your selection of GS.

You have S.R Suzuki near Vadapalani Sivan kovil, their service is nice.

Moreover the regular services are not needed for this bike, I do only oil changes in Shell Filling station.

      Regards,
      Siva Sankar.

Sorry for joining late in the club :-) Bought the beast (as I would say) on January 1, 2013. understand that it is very late to join, but better late than never. Did almost 6000 kms in 7 months. Only word I have is AWESOME! I am extremely happy that I chose this bike over Pulsar and FZ.

For 1000 kms, I ran below 4500 RPM and went on a long trip from Erode, TN to Vaalpaarai and came back via Coimbatore to Erode. I never expected a return mileage of 60 Km/lit.

After that, from home town I took to chennai. That time I was riding under Power mode and with a pillion raider around 85-95 kmph. The returned mileage was 43-45 km/ lit.

Currently the beast is in Chennai.

I kind of feel awkward as I see only people more than 40 age group were driving GS150. Yet to found a youth in Chennai ;-) But this is the bike one has to opt for if looking for comfortness, power, decent mileage and great engine performance.

I tried even running at 125kmph and there is no shiver in the handling and it feels like riding at 60. May be pickup was not as good as Apache, but very responsive and I am more than happy with it. It goes to 70-80 km on 3rd gear when pulled. But I rarely do that.

Riding in ECR, Chennai at 60 kmph in 6th gear was simply mesmerizing. I can barely hear the engine sound. Here are some of the photos for you.

      Have a few queries!

      1. I have been servicing in ABT Suzuki, Nandanam which is very poor. Did only 3 services and skipped the fourth. Currently staying in Vadaplani. Is there any Good workshops around? 5-10 kms within would be great.

      2. Seating has been a problem during summer. I have put seat cover with cushion. It's rexin. But still, in 15-20 mins drive, it gets uncomfortable. Any Suggestions?

And Congratulations for all those guys who bought this You all must be happy ;-)

Also, I am fond of long drive as groups. If anyone plans, let me know guys

        Hi Siva,

Yes, thanks for the update. I went last week and they went for a service camp. I am taking the bike tomorrow there. Also, I purchased from my home town. So may be because of that they are not doing good service. Let me check how SR Suzuki does.

I am into the 4th service only. So have little bit problems with noise from both brakes and clutch is not releasing properly. When releasing the clutch, the lever goes half the way and stops. Planed to do at least 6-8 services from the center and will see about it.

        Many thanks for your reply

Long weekends = less traffic in Bangalore. It was a wonderful typically Bangalore morning when I reached Indira Nagar Metro station.
It is not a daily affair that you would see a bunch of GS 150s in any parking lot (including the Service Center).

Outside A2B Indira Nagar, where Nikhil Krishnan, Pratheepan and I were supposed to meet, we had 4 GS 150s parked this morning. Thanks to another patron who was also using a GS 150.

So, we had been thinking of catching up for some weeks but it worked out this morning. We met over breakfast, talked a lot about the bike and the fabulous rides that Pratheepan has had on the bike. While Pratheepan was just out of a fresh single day trip to Yercaud, Nikhil was just out of a series of trips to Nandi Hills, Hogenakkal, etc.

I had to boast about my longest ever journey in the bike which was a 38 km ride from home to Electronics city office once every week. which showed off my inexperience to long rides.

After talking a lot about the great bike and proposing a few plans of small rides (while polishing off an entire breakfast platter), we spent about 2 hours together. After a few clicks, we decided to call it a day and head back home. Wonderful ride again back home.

Some pics attached. (From left to right -- me, Nikhil and Pratheepan)

Note: Since we did not know any other Bangalore GS 150 riders, we could not collaborate. We would be happy if some other members could join us over a cup of coffee or breakfast or even a ride for the next time.

            Hi,

I bought the GS150R yesterday. Owned a splendor plus for around 8 years and crossed more than 1.2 lakh kilometers. Though my splendor was running without any major problem, i wanted to upgrade to a more comfortable vehicle for long rides. After following this thread for few days, i decided to buy GS150R and i did it yesterday. Costed me 76250 INR.

Took the vehicle for a little long ride of 300kms ( went to vellore and came back today). I gave few small breaks and rode it sedately and as expected the ride was smooth and enjoyable. It returned a mileage of around 83kmpl. Just wish to have a trouble free and long relation with this bike like my Splendor plus.

            Cheers,

Yes. It's not a typo. It's Eight three kmpl. The vehicle was filled with 6.3 litres of petrol and crossed 235 kms before turning the fuel knob to reserve. If the reserve capacity is 3.5 litres as i read in forum then it's close to the figure i calculated. Wish the figures are true atleast for some time.

Rather than going for reserve to reserve method ...this could be perhaps a mistake-proof method to calculate the mileage:

                      1. Have your tank filled completely.

                      2. Ride it for a while..(at least for more than 83 kms. - per your latest calculation)

                      3. Again have your tank filled completely at the same petrol station.

                      4. Note down the exact volume of fuel you have filled this time.

                      5. The number of kims you rode / The exact volume of fuel you filled = Exact mileage

Seems after so many riding years on Splendor, your appetite for high mileage has increased. Haven't heard that much of mileage for any GS.

Please let me know how much you've managed to get by above method...too curious.

Yeah. The figures are too good to be true. Let me check it again by this method. Only hitch is filling the tank. Never done that in a decade!! and for this big tank... that's going to take a lot of courage
and imagine my mileage figure... i can reach Mumbai from Chennai .

LOL.. agree... it has 15.5 ltr tank. It will sprint for 1200 kms. then.

My usual running per month is slightly more than 1000 kms.; so for me fuel will last just over a month.

Additionally, at earlier point of this thread, there was a lot of discussion about having the tank filled completely always, to avoid the rusting of fuel tank. I think problem was largely seen in early-lot GSs. But yeah, that's definitely an advantage.

Usually the dealer delivers the bike with 1.5 or 2 litter of fuel just enough to reach the next petrol pump. Was this fuel included in the said 6.3 litres?

Hi my fellow Suzukians. I purchased Suzuki GS 150 last September and this year in April I did 5630 kms. solo ride from Delhi to Kolkata (NH 2) to Siliguri to Bhutan to Sikkim and back to Delhi (via East West Highway along the Nepal Border). Earlier I have done Rann of Kutch (4000+ kms) and Ladakh (both solo) despite my old age (CURRENTLY I AM 57 YEARS OLD) besides several rides in Himalayan region. Now I have entered Wanderer of the Year 2013 contest and need your valued votes. I AM SURE YOU WOULD ALSO LIKE A Suzukian (from amongst you) TO WIN THIS CONTEST. So please vote for me on http://boty.xbhp.com/entries/detail/222.html and also get votes of your near and dear ones and friend circle so that I reach the Dais on the D.Day. I need hundreds of votes to win.
