By the way, why didn’t you notice this discomfort of pillion while test riding the bike? Or did the dealer give you a bike with a different seat for test riding?
If you can, verify when that dealer actually placed their order for the spare part you are mentioning. Ask them to show you the copy of the mail/order they sent to Suzuki. Then approach another dealer to get that spare part you needs as no dealer gets the spare parts they have not ordered for at all.
Let us hope Suzuki makes all the changes in GS as per your needs. I am sure they will do it.

We do have the right to speech in India and we are encouraged to speak our concerns as customers! So nice to have you rallying that point. Thanks Punnu!

Because your esteemed highness didn't personally take me for a long 250+ kms highway trip with me perched high on the pillion with inadequate seating? I wish I could ride the bike sitting on the pillion but I'm yet to be enlightened on the circus of it! Does the dealer provide a different seat for the test ride? I didn't know that.

Listen up! I wish I was so intricately knowledged in the ordering process which(sadly) low life lesser mortals(customers) like me are not privy to! The order was placed before me and I had called several times to verify the expected delivery date(Postponed.. and indefinitely infinite!). I settled for it as a part and parcel of the system, and don't understand what's the deal with you flaring up so much about it? Maybe you can order it for me and others next time around since you're within the organisation? Requesting you? Please?

They better do that or I won't buy any 'GS like' bike from their stable next time around! Easy to understand I guess?

Congratulations buddy! What's your choice of colour? There could be many points for the Delivery Day check-list that you'd definitely find handy and some could get overlooked by me, however, you can thoroughly arm yourself with a pool of knowledge browsing this thread! So well, here are a few..
Make sure you make a morning visit on the delivery date and do a thorough check of the bike 'before' signing any papers! Take a knowledgeable friend along with you who can be of assistance.
- Have the bike placed in a well lit area and look out for any visible scratches, dents and damage in the paint work.
- Open the fuel tank cap and check for any rust issues around the opening and also on the visible tank bed(take your mini torch or mobile torch along). Do this rust check for other parts of the bike as well! This is not an issue with the GS150R but it's a check for your own satisfaction. :-)
- Kick start the bike(Check the button start also) and listen to the engine sound. Pay attention for anything out of the normal.
- Check the tachometer for your idle engine rpm(Usually around 1100 rpm) and see if the engine dies without throttle assistance.
- Check the indicators, front and back lights, horn, rear view mirror, tyre pressure and Especially the 'Headlamp Beam Throw' which often comes unadjusted! It's easy to adjust and they'll do it in no time!
- Take the bike for a test ride and check the brakes, depress the clutch completely, go through all the gears, make complete left + right handle turns and give a few(2-3) full throttle twists in neutral(1-2 second squeezes as you're in the Run-In period! Don't squeeze and stand enjoying the engine screaming out loud(kidding!)! Hahahaha.. :-D ).
- Check the ignition and lock the bike both ways, left and right.
- Check the centre and side stand.
- Check the documents before you sign and take a comprehensive insurance. Your User Manual also contains Service Request slips and it comes in a Blue Suzuki pouch. You MUST get an extra key for the bike along with it. Get the User Manual stamped and filled thoroughly.
- Check for the Tool Kit and all the tools in it(detailed in the User Manual) and also for the First Aid Kit.
- Visit the service centre beforehand and clear your technical doubts and questions with the Head Mechanic(no one else!). Shake hands with him and start building a rapport! It always helps!
- You must not cross 4500 rpm during the run in period and Always ride in the ECO mode until its over! I'd say stay under 4000 rpm as its easier! The User Manual has all the details!
- Please read your User Manual thoroughly! It isn't a long digest, is easy to read + follow and always comes handy in dealing with the most trying situations. It has lots of DIY guides which adds to your ownership experience and familiarising yourself with the bike's workings!
- You might want to bring down the price by a few hundreds before signing any papers or get some goodies if being offered? It's your choice and dealers capacity.
So good luck, welcome to the gang and keep us posted! :-)

On road price of GS here is 76,280/-. So it seems the dealer is not giving any accessories free. Seat and tank covers the dealers sell are not of good quality and do not last long.Originally posted by kksin123 View PostOnroad 78k with seat cover, tank cover, buzzer,Teflon, hand grip, ladies hook.
Buzzer cannot be fitted without removing the fuel tank and cutting some wires. Is the hand grips and side hook necessary?
Ask for a detailed bill and if you have to pay for the accessories, reject everything except the Teflon coating which actually is a good polishing.
Check for manufacturing defects and wobbling before accepting the bike as one or two GS owners are complaining about it.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Real wet weather test. First time I happened to ride the bike in rain today. 15 kms allthe way from office to home. 1 or 2 kms stretches weee done previously but cannot judge.
I must admit that I was scared to death wih the zapper's reputation in wet weather. Today I got to ride in pouring rain, streams and puddles o road as well as bigger pools of water.
Verdict: I don't find zappers to be a problem in wet weather. If you ride within coontrollable speed (I did 60)
, if you keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and avoid circumstances leading to hard braking, the zappers are as good as any other tyres.

main reason for early breakage of clutch cable is lubricating it. I was lubricating the stock chain with EP 140 oil and
lithium based grease and it lasted for 34,000 kms and replaced a few days ago. It was never cleaned.
Now I am planning to lube the new chain with used or fresh engine oil and ordinary grease. Lube the chain frequently –
especially after washing the bike with detergents – with whatever oil or grease you like. Always keep the sprockets
properly aligned. For it, learn how to adjust chain slackness and align sprockets yourself.
it was attached to the lever (the different microfibers starting coming away). I have to lubricate the choke lever
mechanism at the switchgear end - its hard to operate it recently. I have a litre of used engine oil, will use it for
chain lubrication. Align sprockets - You mean adjusting the rear axle on both left/right sides to the same "level" using
the aligning marks - So I should have a torque wrench?

Get the buzzer if absolutely necessary - You don't want your GS to sound like your neighbour aunty's scooty pep everytime
you indicate a turn.
Adding this to PDI and running-in from my side:
1. Be careful with that mini torch - I still have one floating in the petrol tank. As time goes, a little bit of rust
will form around the filler hole, this is normal and I have seen it on Dazzlers, Unicorns and Apache. However there should
not be excessive rust or chipping off of paint.
2. I dont know if giving full throttle twists on a brand new engine is good - anyway many mechanics of service
centers (of almost all brands) have this habit.
3. Tally the engine and chassis number with the one in the RC.
4. Not necessary to keep the unit in "ECO" mode for the first 1600 kms. However, keeping it in ECO will remind you not to cross the 4500 barrier.
Drive safely, have fun!
Never knew Zappers had a bad (?) reputation. I too restrict to 55-60 in wet conditions and usually feather the brakes (lots of engine braking too). Not to tailgate the vehicle in front is practically a nuisance in India - Other riders will cut in front of you and "fill the gap".Originally posted by venkan12 View PostReal wet weather test. Once, I was on a state-highway, in order to ask for directions from a pedestrian I started breaking hard(front & rear) as I was cruising 90+, overtaking a pesky pulsar rider(with spouse). I remember it vividly, although bike was breaking well and speed was dropping below 30 kmph, as soon as tyres left tarmac and hit side-road gzzzzzzz bike started drifting. Not that it's my first drifting experience, I simply stood upright and let the bike slide under my legs. I'm 5'10'' btw, not tall but tall enough.
I've experienced rear tyre lock on mud covered tarmacs multiple times, however didn't lose control despite skidding in a straight line.

Re: Review - 4th Service done and 4444 kilometers clocked.
Thank you sir, i could not stop commenting after reading this posts silently , some months ago i had mentioned my feedback on same accounts, poor headlights (sometimes they feel non existing and makes GS riders slow down in night drives which is torcherous)) ,we do not want DC conversions done by our selves , after so many years suzuki is not updating on headlight issue, sad .Originally posted by trailwright View Post"1. Reserve to reserve or full tank to full tank methods never shows accurate mileage. If the jar used for it is not available at the SC, you can buy one from the two wheeler accessories shops or can use a plastic saline glucose bottle to check mileage. Fill 300 ml or so fuel in it and connect it to dry carburettor through a piece of flexible pipe."
And so I wondered about the Saline drip earlier.
Thanks for confirming it Punnu!
Did I buy a Pulsar 200NS.. O wait a minute, I didn't!
So am I to to ask Bajaj about why it takes 25+ days or an indefinite period for some small Suzuki GS150R part to be shipped from Delhi to Hyderabad and that too by DHL Courier?? No! Who's sleeping then? Suzuki is? So Suzuki needs to wake up!! Yes it DOES!
"3. My bike is full DC with 55/60 watts Osram NB but the light is poor while going through highways or towns with street light. This is not the case of GS alone but of almost all the two wheelers and is mainly because of the designing of the headlight bulb and reflector for asymmetric beam as per the ECE regulations. Though India is not a party in this agreement, Japan is from 2012. That is why Suzuki Fiero, manufactured before 2012 gives a sharp, pointing light if the bulb is replaced with an ordinary 35/35 watts halogen bulb.
Try to lower the beam to a comfortable level and use high and low beams as per the situation."
Again, I bought the Suzuki GS150R because it has a part 'highway bike' reputation and I expected some light on the road, not the risk of highway accident!! Lol.. Safety somehow overcomes my passion for regulatory orders.
There are 2 beams and I couldn't find the third 'comfortable' beam and therefore extra lights are a must for any such future trips.
Guess I found the LED additions.
Ammm.. a seat wider by at least 2 inches and not a full fledged Honda Goldwing pillion armchair? And no, the knees fold further ahead than the sitting area(the sides in the GS are already wide near the seating and narrow down ahead) so 'it is indeed possible'. XD Ohh I see, rolling over the rider, the pillion always initiates a nose centric take off and always lands with a broken leg? Geez.. Suzuki should have included the 'nose and broken leg' ejection part in their brochure. Very bad Suzuki!
"And still some of us are blaming GS for the sake of blaming."
What's bad and needs improvement will always be commented about by the customer, irrespective of how a certain someone/company representatives/company feels about it!
There is no headmastership or dictation allowed on a customer's opinion, at least in a democracy. And that's the way it is.. Period!
We'd all want GS150R to constantly evolve into a better machine and see its flowering growth for decades ahead. Wouldn't we now?
high pillon seats ( in 150cc 's only cbz , r15 have equally or higher seating position) and both sale better than gs ( maybe superior performance and slaes service network).
spare parts issue may be understood , but geting parts from suzuzki should be under 1 week( that too with crucial compaonants).
FE measurement can be done on long term basis , we have 2 trip counters , within 2 months you will know exact consumption.
GS is a good package , it has served me extreamly well since last 20 months (38K plus odo)and like all our members have right to critisize its shortcommings , this bike has all potential as reliable , trustable , assured investment, suzuzki should enhance some features or launch another version with smaller stance without affecting its basic DNA and keep original bike as it is with just stickering and cosmatic updates .

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Show me even a single 150 cc bike on our roads with symmetric (focusing) dipped headlight beam. As far as I know, the headlight beam of the higher cc bikes with higher watts bulb too are not focusing on the road. Converting to full DC and higher watt bulb does not solve this problem.Originally posted by Vikshe View Postpoor headlights (sometimes they feel non existing and makes GS riders slow down in night drives which is torcherous)) ,we do not want DC conversions done by our selves , after so many years suzuki is not updating on headlight issue, sad .
After long usage, the engine oil becomes an almost single weight oil without losing its lubricating property. So, I hope, it is enough to provide a coating preventing the contact between well aligned chain and sprockets.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostI have to lubricate the choke lever mechanism at the switchgear end - its hard to operate it recently. I have a litre of used engine oil, will use it for
chain lubrication. Align sprockets - You mean adjusting the rear axle on both left/right sides to the same "level" using
the aligning marks - So I should have a torque wrench?
If the choke lever is stuck, a mere lubing or cleaning with WD 40 may not be enough. So get it checked at the SC. If you have cold start problems, keep the throttle a little opened before pressing the ES switch. If it does not work, change to iridium spark plug.
The procedure of aligning the sprockets is shown on page 6-30 and 31 of the manual. Tightening the axle nut with torque wrench is better. You can buy a suitable one from any shop selling special tools.
