    Its fine. You can read my #1109. Yes, engine sound is more than say unicorn. But under 5k rpm there are NO vibes at all. Just try to ride more and more in rough spot and u'll notice its getting smooth the more u ride. Thats what happened with me. How much on ur odometer dude ?

      Yes. I did read your Review before. Nice one and the Pics were also Cool. Which location was it? Even i found the engine Noise to be a bit more than i expected. Right now, the Odo's around 850 Kms. Am unable to ride my Bike during Weekdays this Month due to my Office Shift timings. So, it's only during Weekends. I miss riding my GSR during Weekdays .
      Am planning to go for Long Drives during Weekends once the Monsoon kicks in.

        Yo man same here !!! The point is how many times u get chance to ride beyond 6k rpm in pune ? Even if u do, somebody comes in between. Im not speed freak though. But I enjoy cruising at high speeds. So lets see what happens after 1600 km. We'll be able to use full throttle.

        Thanx for the complement. Its back side of Khadakwasala.

        EDIT: has any1 put the Philips 35w (Germany) bulb ? IS it more powerful than already has Halonix ?

        • My First Bike

          Hello Everyone. I'm new to xbhp. I just joined here to thank all of you for helping me to find a good bike. I would like to thank all of you especially Sam9s, animeher, shadowfax, HydBiker, insaneBiker, riazmomin, hyderabadi_nawab, alkemyst, Sarvajit, ssivakumar.r, mathewSyriac, etc etc... I think your review and comments really do some wonder in my thoughts. Finally i got a good bike today.

          You did really help me a lot to understand all the bike features, pros and cons, and all the maintenance options, so that i can take care of my bike really well.

          Let me introduce myself to all the members. I am Karthic from Coimbatore. I haven't ride to many geared vehicles. I am having a non geared kinetic honda for the past 10 years. I rode my friends TVS Victor, Hero Honda Splendor and Royal Enfield for few minutes. I had 2 problems in riding geared vehicles. That is 1. Leaving Sudden Clutch 2. Instead of applying brakes, i'll apply clutch. I know it is because of using non geared vehicles. I know i can able to solve my problem by practicing it. I know practice makes everything possible. So i planned to buy a bike in 150cc segment.

          I had 3 bikes in my mind. 1. Honda Unicorn 2. Suzuki GS150R 3. Yamaha FZ16. First i enquired everything about the 3 bikes and read a lot of online reviews about the 3 bikes. One day i planned for test drive for all the 3 vehicles. First i went to honda showroom for honda unicorn test drive. I really liked the bike's smoothness. But i was disappointed to know that it takes too long to get delivered. Then i went to suzuki showroom for GS150R test drive. After the test ride of GS150R, i droped the plan of going to yamaha showroom for FZ16 test drive. I decided suzuki gs150r is the right bike for me. My parrents are worried about this bikes resale value. But i know that i'm going to buy a good bike and i don't have any idea of selling it. So i booked black coloured suzuki gs150r and it is delivered today (19.06.2009).

          After a couple of days i'll post my experience of this bike. And i'll also try to upload few snaps of my bike. And once again thank you everyone for helping me to choose this bike.

          And sorry for the big post - Karthic

                        Hey Congrats dude
                        2day, i had a chance to exchange my gs150 with r15 for just 2kms, of-course, r15 was powerful, but the vibrations was not that pleasing.
                        So, riding my GS150R is a heaven like thing

                          Hey congrads.. you know what Even I had only Uni, FZ and GS on my mind selecting my bike. I have driven FZ for 2 months Jan Feb. FZ was really tempting to me for its looks and superb ride control in city. but after riding my GS i felt i made the rite choice.

                          I just rode my bike at 6Krpm for around 10 minutes. Felt gr8. I just have clocked close to 700Kms in the odo. Is it OK to go till 6K ? I've completed first servic 10 days back.

                          @Alkemyst
                          I think you have monetioned about the engine getting choked. I too ave felt it sometimes. After the first service it was better. How about urs?? Did the engineers mention anything about this prob ? Is this realy a problem or am I worrying too much ?

                            ?
                            first service mudinjuthu la... then why are you waiting... go till 7500rpm(but dont stay there) engine gets heated up... dont worry that you are under 800kms.
                            from now
                            1st 200km: drive 1 min in 7500 rpm 6 minute in 3000-4000rpm follow this cycle
                            next 200km: 2 mins in 7500rpm, 4 mins 3-4k rpm
                            next 200km: 2 mins 7500rpm, 3 mins 3-4k rpm
                            next 200km: 2mins vs 2 mins
                            follow this till a week before second service or 1400km...
                            in last week... touch 10000rpm here and there(dont stay there even for a min)...
                            I am sure you will get better performance from your engine

                            • What ??? engine chocking ?? Never heard of this.... I once had this problem, but then I realized that I had forgotten to move back the choke after kick start in morning... thats why I was having jerks as if no fuel in bike... Then I immediately moved back the choke and waited for 2 mins.. After this there is no problem at all..... it was 'my mistake' in my case...

                                told them abt following things-
                                1). not enough bright headlight..
                                2). slug rear brakes..
                                3). the electrical start switch had some loose connections for me(which i got replaced instantly)..
                                4). the 3.5-4k rpm engine roughnes..
                                5). sometimes the engine feels choked as if there is no petrol..(no answer for it yet)..
                                they themselves started askin me hows it compared to unicorn.. and i gave them a detailed desc.. suggested them to bring GS in few more colors.. i got a pen as a gift.. only a pen.. pple in chennai got t-shirts too..
                                the jap engrs took test rides of all the vehicle and i was told tht they will look into the 3.5-4k rpm issue.. they got similar reports from all the places.. so they want to see whether its a drawback of vehicle or it was a problem with a specific assembly line.. told me that they will contact me asap.. then they had a stress test of the vehicle.. a heavy pillion on slope and uphill and stuff..
                                these guys did a tour frm hyd, guntur, coimbatore, chennai and then they came to banglore.. and it was their last stop.. one of them was quite impressed by Mr. Mathew from chennai and i think he is on XBHP..
                                @ShadowFax
                                In the above post by Alkemyst, point No 5 in bold says about engine gettin' choked. Before my first service, in ECO mode, sometimes when i touch 4.5Krpm, i feel the choking. After first service i drive in PWR mode i dont feel that. I'm not sure if its bcoz of first ervice or riding in diff mode. I will check that out by changing the mode back to ECO and update you.

                                @all
                                BTW i also had teflon coating done during the first service and the bike looks gr8. For that reason i had removed the tank cover. planning to put it back on second service.
