On Sunday when I was going on ride to Mulshi, I never had those jerks. But while coming back, bike came on reserve, I moved cock to RES and then the jerks started... though they were very silent. I once touchd 6k rpm and i felt vibes.... Those who have done 1600+ on odo also feel the vibes ?6 Speed Cruising >>--->>--->> Flying In Heaven

You can get good spare parts in pudupet too provided u jnow the dealer very well
My bro purchases most of the spare parts for his passion from here. His stock battery lasted only for a year but the battery he got from pudupet is still going strong after 1 and a half years..
Note: Even authorized dealers can cheat you easily

Hey thanks maniac... Being over cautious about the basics is not a problem after all I've seen people making long drives and getting basics wrong. Its not a problem to keep the engine at around 6Krpm for 2 hrs rite ? There will not be any traffic since I'll be travelling early in the morning. Only the trucks in highway[chennai - Bangalore] are a bit of concern. I'm used to the highway since I've done back breaking trips in my boxer 2 - 3 times last year.Originally posted by outworldly maniac View Post
i missed out on that.. i was trying to say something else altogether
thanks
and if you are asking me ... m not sure thou
i read your previous post
you said its 130km.........
then i think its no big deal pal....
even if u ride at some 70 kmph or 80.... u ll reach in something less than 2hr... considering you ll be riding on a highway....
just make sure you have required amount of petrol ,water and some light eatables with you...
you never know if you got stuck in traffic..... you may need that
and besides that.... check for your front brakes fluid ... any oil leaks visible
any foreign material on your tire that could puncture it.. if found remove it
carry your papers and helmet with you
check out for oil level in the oil tank
someone would laugh at this and tell m telling to be over cautious and after all some points are completely not needed as its a new bike ....
but if i would be u... i would have done all the things mentioned
cheers and best of luck
ride safe
EDIT : forgot to add... riding gears would also be a good need i think
atleast i advice all to have knee and elbow pads with good boots minimum so that the major and important body parts are not injured
any other additional would be optional
I'm not sure if i'll be able to check the chains[coz I dont know how to
]. As for the riding gear, I just wear a Yamaha riding jacket since I'm not used to all these stuff. Probably in some time from now I'll try.

Guys, I got the wheel strips done by Gajanan arts, in 80 bucks
Thanks to Shadowfax for that find! I went for orange, as white was not matching at all.
Congrats! That's really great news.Originally posted by speed deamon View Posthurray ! the suzuki people told that they will replace my petrol tank tomorrow as it has a dent
Nopes, buddy. That's why it is called as RESERVE. You don't need to fill in petrol as soon as it hits reserve, you can still ride a good 100kms or more in reserve.Originally posted by kumarprabhatn View Post"AS SOON AS" ??? That means you carry 10 ltrs. in a can with you extra every time or miraculously your bike comes to reserve near petrol bunk

I am determined to get my number plates from Suzuki only (saving of 50 bucksOriginally posted by abhi_gsr View PostSo, did you go to that Place to get the Radium Work done? You can also get the Number Plates done from him. He has some nice designs.

Hmm, If you didn't use up any of the reserve quantity and refilled almost immediately, then its more likely that the right amount of fuel might not have gone in. Sometimes they don't reset the filling display. The right way is they are supposed to reset it, show that to us&then start filling.Originally posted by abhi_gsr View PostEven i calculate Mileage using the Reserve to Reserve Method. Generally, i fill 100 or 200 Rs. Petrol. But i have observed that my Mileage is not consistent always and sometimes it's very puzzling.
Like during the last 2 Fills of 100 Rs., the first time it ran 150 Kms and the second time, 80 Kms
. That makes it a Mileage of 66 and 35. I am sure there won't be so much variance in back to back fills. Probably the second time the right amount of Fuel might not have gone in. The Petrol Pump is a very well known and Reputed Pump and i have been filling Fuel from there for my Bike and Car since a very long time.
Anyways, check once more for the variation but I doubt it as you are riding in the city only.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Hey u'll have a heavenly trip... Road till Mulshi is average.. once u pass Mulshi till Tamhini ghat its bumpy and muddy due to rains.. and ther's dense cloud-fog... so drive slow and turn On lights, etc.. (no need to tell actuallyOriginally posted by animeher View PostSo how's the road? I am going to Shrivardhan this monday, and planning to take the bike. How are the roads in Mulshi ghat?

Well, i did not refill immediately. When the Bike came to Reserve, i changed the Knob to Reserve and rode the Bike for about 20 Kms on Reserve and then filled 100 Rs. Petrol [2.25L] and immediately changed the Knob to ON Position. It still showed only one Dot on the Fuel Indicator. I suspected something was wrong.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostHmm, If you didn't use up any of the reserve quantity and refilled almost immediately, then its more likely that the right amount of fuel might not have gone in. Regarding the reseting of Fuel Display, it was reset to 0 and i make a point to check it everytime. Infact, if you are not paying attention to the Meter, the people filling petrol on this Pump show you the 0 on the Fuel Display and only then start filling Petrol. Atleast that's the Case with me everytime.

get it checked from a local mechanic.... no big stuffOriginally posted by Augustine09 View PostHey thanks maniac... because if chain is not good or loose ... seriously its a nail in the arse big time ,,, and no need to remove chain cover also
and no man.... its absolutely no problem to keep the bike at 6K rpm even for the full day.... its a commuter ... not sure thou about suzuki quality
but for 2 - 3 hrs.... i am very much sure
anyways like you mentioned .... you will reach your place mostly in less than 2 hrs as i told
enjoy cruising
