Even i calculate Mileage using the Reserve to Reserve Method. Generally, i fill 100 or 200 Rs. Petrol. But i have observed that my Mileage is not consistent always and sometimes it's very puzzling.
Like during the last 2 Fills of 100 Rs., the first time it ran 150 Kms and the second time, 80 Kms
. That makes it a Mileage of 66 and 35. I am sure there won't be so much variance in back to back fills. Probably the second time the right amount of Fuel might not have gone in. The Petrol Pump is a very well known and Reputed Pump and i have been filling Fuel from there for my Bike and Car since a very long time.
Hi, i too faced the same problem, for 100 rs it ran 175kms, then 79kms,When i asked mechanic ,he told add both mileage diveided by no of litres u pu gives u average mileage value,he told this happen bcos of tank, sometimes the petrol in other side so our bike will go reserve , next time it will compensate for the fuel on th other side....

...
SO i know now cheking mileage is a research for this bike.......
Now did u notice in the New ad in magazine for Suzuki GS150R they put 13.8bhp and mileage 62*kmpl * as per arai test condition.....
That means 45 to 52 we should get in city condition.....
I too got choking problem........In tank full condition.......
Currently after tank full upto brim level my bike so far ran 275km on trip , fuel guage showing still full dots(my odo reading 2200km)......So the research goes still to find mileage of the bike.....
The mechanic told me to try blinking to blinking to check mileage instead reserve to reserve I m waiting for blinking to come and check......

if you have a dealer then no problem...Originally posted by Bubbly View PostBro... I am talking abt the stickers..That too in pudupet there many sticker shops that too in a row. So u can bargain a lot. You can compare prices and quality from all the shops and then decide
You can get good spare parts in pudupet too provided u jnow the dealer very well
My bro purchases most of the spare parts for his passion from here. His stock battery lasted only for a year but the battery he got from pudupet is still going strong after 1 and a half years..
Note: Even authorized dealers can cheat you easily
by the way... did you get seat cover and bike cover? in jain suzuki they are not available

Choking problem is in eco mode or power mode....????? So we have to test in all modes(3 modes) whether it exists in all mode....Last edited by akfara; 07-01-2009, 05:08 PM.ABDUL KHADAR

I doubt if the Blinking Method would be a accurate way to check mileage.Originally posted by akfara View Post[

Many times in my Case when a Dot reduces, it re-emerges after driving for some Kms. So, it keeps fluctauting sometimes. Will have to try and check.
I have changed the stock Headlamp to Philips 35 W but sadly have not found time to compare the difference due to my Work Shift Timings. Will let you know once i get a chance.Last edited by abhi_gsr; 07-02-2009, 05:03 AM.

Guys i took delivery of my bike last evening and to be honest it wasnt a happy experience. The dealer claimed to have put in 1 ltr of petrol but i dont know how much they put in my bike stalled within a kilometer's ride. I cudnt start the bike again. I called a friend of mine to get some petrol in a bottle. Pocketting 6k in the name of registration and other expenditures they cant even put in 2 lts's of petrol? I was so furious with the dealer that i wanted to put my fist to his face.
Coming to my bike,
1. The engine feels tight giving out wierd noise in rpm's < 3k and it feels smooth above 4k. The idiling rpm set is around 1.5k .... but now & then when i start the bike the rpm goes to 2.5k. Is it because the engine is new & tight or is it a fault which i need to look into. Have any of you experienced this ?
2. My bike's front mudguard, tank and tail piece all have the same shade of orange. But the head light doom seem to be in a different shade. There is visible difference. Orange bike owners pls confirm on this.
On tuesday when i went you to finalise things for wednesday's delivery i saw another orange bike with broken headlight doom, mudguard standing next to brand new orange bike. My mind tends to think that they have fixed the broken one and delivered to me.
I'm losing my sleep over this now.

in handle bar and foot pegs once i cross 4000rpm and which is increased as i touched 7.5k rpm...
after 1600kms when i touched 10000rpm vibrations are unbearable(irritation)
during second service i informed this to service guys. after second service... all are gone, no difference in riding in 3k, 5k, 7k, 9k
i dont know what problem and how did they solve it

The petrol running out part was really pathetic behaviour on the dealer's part. And bit shocking too. In fact I remember reading that after the tank is emptied, the carb may catch some air bubble, and then bike may not even start until you disconnect and reconnect the petrol line.
About your questions:
1. This is surprising. The rpms are usually at 1.1-1.3k, and never 2.5k, especially on a new bike. Get this checked ASAP. This will unnecessarilyl reduce mileage and may also give problems to engine (as it is unnecessarily revving the engine from the start).
2. The colors are all in one shade. Makes no sense at all to have them in different one. I sense a foul play in this.
As per your doubt, nothing can be said for either side. Non matching shades is a strong point to the case. Didn't you get choice to select the vehicle beforehand? I was showed 3 vehicles to select one from, and I chose one after thorough visual inspection. Make sure you don't take this matter lightly.
It is there in third mode too, however my bike's first service is not yet done, so take this observation with a pinch of salt.Originally posted by Augustine09 View PostChoking problem is there irrespective of modes. I've tested in both pwr and eco mode. not sure about the third mode.. anyone ???

The first place u need to go after getting a new bike is the petrol bunk ! We cannot afford to believe them in this...... The service centre guy told me that he put 2 lit petrol and then rode around 10 Kms for reg.Originally posted by donarun View PostGuys i took delivery of my bike last evening and to be honest it wasnt a happy experience. @Engine noise.
I never had engine noise, we all felt vibes at around 3.5K but sound was not a prob.
@headlight doom
I too own an orange one and find absolutely good. No diff in color as far as I know.. Will take a closer look today ad update.
NOW GET TO THE SERVICE CENTRE AT ONCE AND GET THINGS DONE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. iF YOU CAN BLAST THOSE GUYS FOR BEING SO CARELESS.
Dont worry on these as you are covered by a warranty. You can get things replaced under the warranty.
Anyway; congrads on your new bike.
