Chain Noise while riding
Guys, am experiencing a problem on the 1st Day of Ownership itself.
When riding the Bike, there is slight chain noise coming when riding solo.
The Noise significantly increases when riding with a pillion. The Noise is more in between the spped range of 25 to 45 Kmph. Like the chain is rubbing with something.
Took it to the Suzuki SC. They tried setting it a couple of times, but no luck.
They have now told me to leave the Bike in the SC tomorrow morning as they will have to open the Chain Compartment and check what the problem is.
Am a bit dissapointed as i expected the Bike to be problem free.
Is this a serious Problem or a minor one? Can it be rectified easily?
Am not an expert when it comes to technicality of Bikes.
Please post your Suggestions Guys.
In the meantime, something to cheer about.
Here are the Pics of my GSR.Last edited by abhi_gsr; 05-13-2009, 03:28 PM.

Suzuki won't reply. Atleast they didn't reply my mail!
My caliber 115 is also making the chain noise almost from the day of buying. On slopes, when I let of the throttle, the chain would sound like it is lose. No problems faced whatsoever because of this. So relax buddy
All the best for getting it solved.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will go to the SC tomorrow and will give them an earful. If they can't fix it tomorrow, will demand a replacement of the Chain assembly. Btw, the Bike has been Registered in my name.
From your Experience, is this Chain Noise Problem a Serious One or a minor thing and can be fixed easily?
Don't mind but your comments increased my Blood Pressure for some time.
Hope you were over exaggerating.

Hi my gsr too suffered a chain sound from show room , but it was fixed by the mechanic next day, My old pulsar has the same, but exists( but sound will come only on bad roads) till i sell after 6 years,So it's a minor one don't worry.....Originally posted by abhi_gsr View PostThanks for your suggestion. Hi Guys:
Me and Sarvajit today went for a test ride of GS150 (I personally own an R15). I have to say that it had a good comfort and handling. I have ridden Apache/xTreme in the same segment but I found the handling really good. Nothing much to say as it was a 5 mins ride.
As per chain: For R15 its common. 2 Reasons: Dirt OR Over tightening. In case this helps.
Cheers!Fear is the Trigger!

but once i visited this site some months ago ,,,, i live here most of the time

what comments are you exactly talking about
lol,,,, i am in a habit of talking ,,, dont let them increase ur blood pressure or else if u get a heart attack ,,,,,ur wife get me arrested for cyber crime
the chain thing is not a big thing buddy,,,,,,,,, even if u go for a new one i think it will fall in 1k
so chill
its not a big problem as i said
sometimes there is a lag in the chain,,,,, lag means its length increases than normal .........due to regular use which heats the metal
n as we knw metal expands on heating
so the chain becomes loose
so the solution adapted is the chain is cut for the extra part and then welded again
but this is when the chain becomes old,,,, dont think suzuki has put some extra length keeping mind that by going on cutting one day we need some extra length
so either the chain may be loose,,,,, or it may be brushing against the chain cover or ............
something i dont know
chill man,,,,
if i would have been ur place.... i woud have got on their heads,,,, to get the thing done at that spot or replace the chain
anyways
i dont know what exactly might be the fault
but chain problems are not big complex thingies like the engines
so relax n enjoy

GS150R Test ride
Ok, we are back from the GS 150R test ride. I had a special attachment towards it because it resembled my Fiero F2. However, the ride turned out to be completely different.
It was more like Unicorn, albeit heavier by a few kgs. Riding position very upright, stability&braking good. Rear suspension great. Digital dash looks cool. Linear power delivery, smooth&stress free engine with no vibes.
Did feel that the pillion seat is a tad high&less in width, although better than Apache&CBZ-X.
Overall a very nice package from Suzuki&an excellent executive commuter, as I said earlier, the Unicorn is seriously endangered now.Quench my thirst with gasoline!
