The GS150R wouldn't need a xW50 oil. Stick to the W40 oil. Get a good one though. I wonder how the SC's are maintaining the engine oil. The Access needs 10W30 grade and other bikes need 20W40.Originally posted by thefalcon View Post

I saw a new orange GSR yesterday night. For a moment I thought it was some other new bike. The colour was bright and the bike was shiny. I guess the Zuki guys have improved their paint quality. The bikes, even new, used to sport a dull lookOriginally posted by Joey View PostCool...
Hopefully when I visit the showroom, they should have all the colors, just want to have a look at the colors in real.
Saw an orange GS last night. Saw the head light from the side angle, the bottom part looked like an elongated chin

Orange looked nice at night.

Why dont you try using Elf moto 4 Gold.. heard it is a fantastic oil.. although I have not personally experinced in the bike but this is running in my sis's pep for a long time now & it runs pretty smooth all the way.. I mean even wheni take it to 70kmph engine runs smooth which was not the same when TVS SC oil was being used..
Hope it should do good for bikes as well..
I suppose your bike is very new.. this problem is somewat common if you continuosly ride bike for more than 10-15kms the gear changes becomes little rough.. if it is too much then get it checked with SVC..
IMO give it sometime.. everything new things need time to settle in do not hurry up, if you ask me I would say wait & see till the 1st service..
I'll try the elf moto 4 for next changeOriginally posted by HydBiker View PostThe GS150R wouldn't need a xW50 oil. Stick to the W40 oil. Get a good one though. I wonder how the SC's are maintaining the engine oil. The Access needs 10W30 grade and other bikes need 20W40.

Does it come in small packets for topup because next change i'll need new oil filter so 1.1litre is the requirement.
Which oil is better, the moto4 gold or moto4 pro ?? are they both mineral oils ?
The SC uses veedol, but right now i'm using shell advance.
are you sure access has 10w30 requirement. because i usually roam around the SC and i noticed only 1 barrel of oil(veedol). the grade or any other info wasn't printed on the barrel. but the SC guys said its 20w40.
@Bullet500- Even i notice that gear shifts become hard(actually its more like make some sound while shifting) and my bike has run 1600km till now.Last edited by thefalcon; 12-11-2009, 12:30 PM.

Regarding the sound which comes during gear shifts, I have experienced it in my YD125.
But the sound comes only at certain times,
1. When I start the bike in the morning and without any idling put the first gear the sound comes. If I let the bike idle for a minimum of 30 secs, then put first gear the sound won't come.
2. It comes when down shifting continuously (mostly to reach neutral) at higher speeds.
I believe these 2 situations are common in all bikes.
Hopefully as the bike runs in, the gear might become smoother, till then downshift gradually with sufficient time b/w each downshift.

Guys...I read the review and comments in ZigWheels, lots of positive things about GSR. Two things that were repeatedly praised was,
- The comfortable seating and ride for long trips and its smoothness.
- Mileage of 50+ from almost all comments

The big let down obviously is the looks, but its bigger than Pulsar, RTR and almost CBZX and Hunk. For a commuter this bike rocks.
Waiting for next month.

Happy to hear that mate.Originally posted by speed deamon View Posthey guys today the suzuki people replaced my disc plate and handle bar and now the disc is performing well without any squeaking sound
i am happy with their after sale service
Seems like Suzuki has upped its After sales service. They seem to take this bike seriously.
For people who haven't read it yet, here is a good comparison done in 'Indian bikes review' in the 150 cc segment.
Indian Bikes Review: 150cc bikes
And, surprise surprise the underdog GSR150 tops the chart in about 3 criterias out of 5.
Wonder why I am not seeing many GSR on the road?
Does anyone have the sales figure for 150 cc segment?Quit tabulating grudges. Let it off. Discuss it, then trash it, don't recycle it.

even i'm going to go to my SC and tell them to fix the squeaks or change the disc

Dis they change handle bars for the disc or someother reason ??
You dont see many gs150's on the road because there are very few showrooms and not many people actually know about suzukiOriginally posted by Joey View PostHappy to hear that mate.

(once at a signal some auto guy even asked me if i'm riding a new pulsar !!
)
I remember reading sales figures of bikes in september 09 somewhere.(not 150cc, all bikes of the company)
HH topped with 3.8lakhs
and suzuki was 26k

Hi guys, Its been more than a week now since i have got this bike and the bike is still smooth as ever and riding is really comfortable but i have some issues .I would like to know whether these issues are common with all GS150's .
1.While Upshifts are smooth,Downshifting is clunky and makes a big "tok" sound everytime
2.In the mornings RPM is 1k while idling, and bike used to turn off within a minute of idling.so i increased by turning the screw and made it 1.3k.Still bike turns off in the middle,in signals etc but this "turn off" issue is only for some 10minutes of riding after that everything is normal.
3.sometimes after long rides of about half an hour ,while stopping at signals etc RPM goes to around 4.5k and makes huge noise even when its neutral
Am i making any mistakes here?? I dont want to use choke in the morning since some say its not good for the bike. What is the ideal idling RPM?

RPM going to 4.5k during idling means you are riding with the choke on.Originally posted by ajay1 View PostHi guys, Its been more than a week now since i have got this bike and the bike is still smooth as ever and riding is really comfortable but i have some issues .I would like to know whether these issues are common with all GS150's .

Not good for new bike to ride with choke

i suggest keeping the idling rpm back to previous setting(1k in morning) and go to the SC about the turning off issue.(i never experienced this prob)
Ya downshifts make that noise. you could try pressing lever gently and also press and release clutch for each downshift.
ideal idling rpm(when engine is hot) is 1.4 to 1.5k. (1k in morning is normal)

i am not riding with the choke on.Somehow it ends up in high RPM after some time

But how does a bike go from 1.3k idling in the morning to 4k.!!
its surprising.
Btw, are you the same ajay from orkut ??
Edit: i tried starting my bike today at 6 in the morning(after 5 days), kicked thrice without choke, tried button twice, then 3 kicks with choke and it started.
the strange part is, for 3-4km the bike had this feeling like it was being dragged, throttle response was slow, bike was slowing down and choking as soon as i left the accelerator. most important was the choking like there's no fuel. i checked everything, oil level was ok, tyre pressure was fine, there was enough fuel, wheel seemed to be rotating without much resistance(i put it on main stand and tried rotating with my hand
)
but after 5-6km it became normal again.
what could have caused this ??Last edited by thefalcon; 12-12-2009, 04:16 PM.
