  • DIY Mudflap Extension for Rainy Season - TNT 300

Note sure if any of you noticed :

The rear mudguard is not what I would call "adequate" for the rainy season.

    1. The gap in the mudguard under the number plate causes mud to accumulate under the number-plate light. Also the number plate is covered in muck in no time, when riding in rain.
    2. The sides on the mudguard is not wide enough. Hence mud and rain water splashes on to the pillion seat or the pillion's thighs if there is a pillion sitting.

I did not want to just bolt on a rubber flap as it would look out of place and may not work as expected. Hence I arranged a set of BTwin Cycle mudflaps and retro fitted the same using the existing fasteners to give it a clean and functional form.

      Nice job. It looks clean.
Also, didn't you face the same issue with the front mudguard? It surely looks small and there would be slush around your legs during rainy season
      its all about CC...

Thanks buddy. The front has not been splashing much on the feet. But the engine cowl does become a mess, including the oil filter n exhaust pipes. Need to work on those too. Will keep u guys posted if I work out something.

            Neat job there. Impressive.

I usually have mud all over the brake light, indicators, grab rail and sometimes on seat too, mud also goes inside number plate illumination lamp and people directly behind me.

Not exactly a cheap hack ... cost me around 600 bucks (2 Pairs of Mud Flaps from Decathlon) all inclusive + around 3 hours. Could have been done cheaper using plastic sheets but I was too lazy to go look around for it ... The BTwin ones served me well because they are not flimsy and had grooves in it to help give it shape, which would not have been possible with plain plastic sheets. The cost would seem to be a bit high considering they are plastic inserts, but they are sturdy and look neat too.

I thought of the video tutorial after I made it so couldn't get a before after shot. Will keep in mind here on.

Both my front and back number plates are broken in half. The plastic piece of shit that was provided by showroom is useless.
I don't even know how the back one broke. Only saw once I reached home and parked my bike. My knee grazed the front one and it snapped. Garbage really.

Maybe back one. But I broke the front one. It's thin plastic stuff and tightly screwed. Definitely going to break. Getting metal embossed ones.

It is better to switch the number plates to the metal one. I never liked the plastic one, it can break with the vibration or by slight shock.
Today came to know that Benelli merchandise will be launched soon(August may be) which includes jackets, caps, keychains, new frame sliders. The cost will be cheaper as compared to the imported stuff.
TNT250 is in the final stages of testing as well.
                            Regards,

Will be interested in jackets and frame sliders. Let's see what they come up with and at what price.

Yea, TNT 250 manufacturing has begun. Read the news on some sites.

Unofficially cost of jackets would be 7K, not sure of quality though.
I've embroidery patch of Benelli TNT300 as well few key chains which I got it done from a professional label maker.
Let me know if anybody needs it. Will post the photos by evening today.
Couple of other functional upgrades I made on the motorcycle (touring windscreen + fork dust covers), will post the photos soon.
