Just completed 100 kms getting a fe of 14kmpl calculated from reserve to reserve method.
I am using normal fuel now, is it recomended to use high octane fuel during run in?
Wch rpm range should i not rev it to
Usually i keep a balance of rpms and keep changing it.

I didn't go beyond 5.5k before first service. 900~Kms
Now I am limiting it to less than 7k till the next half 1.6k.

Startup and heat issues have gone down significantly. Vibrations are lesser and limited to 4k rpm only so I stay out of that range but sometimes in traffic I have no choice.

Normal fuel should be good. Also to answer your 2nd question, don't rev it till the rev limiter till your break in period is completed. Drive at various rpm ranges at all gears in your break in period. For 1st 1000km if you are cruising on highways don't run beyond 7000 rpm for extended period.Similarly till 1600km don't drive beyond 8600rpm for extended period. The trick here is to vary your rpm and also allow the engine to warm up before opening up the throttle. And avoid sudden throttle action if possible.Other than that enjoy your bike and remember this machine likes to be revved so don't baby it too much.

Has anyone tried Blacking out the windscreen, like the guy in the CBR 650 ownership thread ? It might go well with the blue

Putting the vinyl on the opposite side gives a tinted effect on front.

Rachit has got a taller double bubble windscreen and I am thinking of the same.

One small mod on my R3...front 10 LED flush mounts and rear 15 LED.
Needs a stock replacement flasher relay to control the blinking rate and a little filling in the rear holes.

pkhammu2005 has got a short tail mod as well.

The indicators look so much better than the stock . How much did it end up costing you ?

Any ownership experience from Chennai, I have this friend who itching to pick up a bike by this year mid, he's test ridden the benelli 300, liked the bike but the footrest position was uncomfortable for him, r3 there are not even showcase vehicles in the city, except gudvanchery which is some 50-60 km away... Why is Yamaha not even displaying the model , I mean 3.69 not everyone can afford I can totally understand no test rides but a display piece? Sheesh.. He's more Keen on the BMW g310 but no news on that release, same for the mt03

Yes, they look much better, but need a little adjustment to fit at the rear.
Front is a direct fit though.

Cost:
Front: Rs. 1000 pair
Rear: Rs. 867 pair
Add 1 flasher relay for 99

For the rear, I would recommend getting stock replacement indicators from Ali Express for 2K if the Mechanic is not capable/willing to do a bit of jugaad with the mounting hole and wire length.

Looks very nice.
Front - I thought you had to cut the fairing from what I saw in the picture until you said that it was a direct fit. Now I see that the flushlights are on top of the fairing.
Did you buy online? also were you had to remove fairing or something?
Can you take pics from front side of bike as well?

Hi guys, got my blue baby R on Thursday. I have ridden 350 kms so far. And boy, I'm loving it.. I have got a couple of questions.
1) it heats up pretty quickly and the fan keeps running quite often inside city even in normal traffic conditions. In heavy traffic, my legs get tandoored. Is it normal? I mean it's almost 70% of the time while I'm riding.

2) I carry my laptop bag to and from office. The seat design makes the laptop bag begging for space. I either have to carry the weight of laptop on shoulder or back. The bag doesn't rest on the pillion seat. It makes me cramped up while riding and it's very uncomfortable. Anyone facing this problem? Any suggestions/solution ?

3) the throw of the light is more inclined to left than normal. Right hander corners are quite blind. Is the way it is set by default? I know it's usually a bit inclined to left but I feel it's too much in my bike. How to get it adjusted? I somehow feel my R15 gives me better view of the road in corners.

Thanks in advance.
Ride safe.
