Set it to 5. For pillion it's good on long tours.Originally posted by Pulsar220F View PostWhat suspension settings do you guys are using now? Those who have pillion mostly and without? Anyone tried each settings and their experience?Yamaha YZF R15 V 2.0 (Oct, 2012 - Present)

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I was going to put #5 but accidentally I put it in #6. I didn't change and rode it around 20+kms. I felt very good and my wife was saying that she felt better than before. That's why I asked if you people tried other settings as well. I need to test it further with me alone and also in bumpy roads. I'm afraid that a stiffer suspension will affect the rider on our roads giving jerks upto the back of his head.Originally posted by ArnabC View PostSet it to 5. Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
check bearings if you have been in some nasty potholes.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostThough pad contact shouldn't be ruled, pad contact would sound different, this from what I hear, clearly indicates rubber rubbing something. My first thought would be the chain rubbing chain pads which is normal. Brake pads contact would have a tinny metallic sound to it. Just in case, check your real wheel if it's rubbing something and check if the bike has a chain pad, if yes, check if the rollers are in contact with them. If yes, then it's perfectly normal.
Cheers!

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi guys,
I bought the R3 on 26th December, and have completed two trips (long distance) on it. One of almost 800 kms to my dad's native village and another of 1200 kms to Kufri and beyond from Delhi.
The bike is so smooth to drive, it's almost as smooth as a car.
The max speed I could reach was almost 184 kmph on a flyover downwards, yet the bike was well planted and in control, on the stock MRF tyres. I really don't know if changing the tyres will do much to the bike for touring purposes, but I have to say, the bike really compensates for a lot more biker errors that other bikes I've tested, be it the Karizma, Pulsar 220, CBR 250 or KTM 390.
This bike is amazing. Its a city rider, tourer and almost a track bike, all in one.

Good post, bust I came across people complaining about overheating on a few instances here, especially bumper to bumper traffic...can't argue, its ergonomics and the engine and the whole package is one of the best tourers around.Originally posted by adyscorpius View Post

Break depends on how tired you are !Originally posted by Rohit Yadav View PostHow's the break on r3? Shouldn't a bike like this should have twin discs or at least abs?
But if you are talking about brakes, abs is an added advantage. The current braking is adequate and enough to put a stop to 42 horses. Adding twin discs doesn't necessarily make better braking system.
And those R1's and busas only recently got abs. That doesn't mean the older models have poor braking.Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Brakes are better than the legendary N300. Thats sums it all.Originally posted by Rohit Yadav View PostHow's the break on r3? Shouldn't a bike like this should have twin discs or at least abs?
Yamaha can sure add ABS. But otr would cross 4 lakh mark which is not a good idea when u have something as N300 in competition.

1/2" play in the lever. A quick jab with one finger will bring down speed from 150 to 60. No drama. Rear is usable too, but not as sharp as the legendary N250's twin piston caliper.
I personally felt it brakes much better than the ABS equipped RC390. Many shootouts say the same.
But I don't intend to start a debate.
Bottom line: It brakes damn well. ☺Quench my thirst with gasoline!
