so watch a mechanic do it first(be it any kind of service) and you will understand the nuances involved. I always make it a point to hang around and watch the servicing of not only my bike, but also other bikes that come in for various other repairs.
Unfortunately, my work does not allow me to do anything like that anymore.
For the brake i might as well tie it with something lol( the lever)

I got teflon coating done from the dealer I got my bike from. It was Rs.350 for one or Rs.750 for three, valid for one year.

I have also used Turtle wax before (on a car though, haven't tried it on a bike with plastic fairings yet). You can find a can of that for about Rs.400, which in my opinion would be a better option to go for as you can get a lot more uses out of it. You will have to wash your bike clean first, then clay it, dry it and then finally wax and polish; which sounds like a bit of a chore but so worth it after seeing the final result.

I didn't notice a difference between teflon coating and waxing and as far as I know they serve the exact same purpose; keep your vehicle paint and clear coat safe from the elements.

In chennai, car cares at omr do some real nice work in regard to waxing, polishing even details, definitely worth a check from r3 owners from Chennai .

that is exactly what you shouldn't be doing! the lever must not be operated when the wheel and/or pads are removed, it must be disengaged. once you squeeze the lever, you are in for trouble especially if you are an inexperienced mech.

I might as well tie the lever so that it does not get pushed down even by accident.
