The tools are quite useful and look like they are of good quality. How much did they cost you?

Having a problem with the bike, as soon as i start the R3 it shuts off and i have to start it again. on a cold start it happens 2 times and then it starts normally.
in traffic if i turn off the key it happens once.

now this has started happening few days back when i start my bike in the morning it starts normally but when i engage the gear it goes off, this happens 2 times and then the bike starts normally.

This has never happened before even if i did not use the bike for a week.

I am done 1900 kms, done with recall fix etc.

will be visiting the SVC tomorrow

I used to have the startup problem in traffic but never at a cold start.
Do you let the bike idle till the coolant heat level reaches 3 bars?

Bad fuel can be cause. Also check air filter although it's unlikely to get dirty so soon.

Also check idle rpm it should be between 1.5k-1.6k rpm.

At idle it would take time. Try to change gear at 2k rpm.

This is the same as vinayak yamaha technician told me. For overheating issue," saar yeh new coolant hai, thoda time lagega. this is normal".
                        What ja ck a $_ !!!

They also gave stickers. Don't feel like putting them on my bike.

                              Hello guys,

Many of us are facing different issues with R3 and we as owners have conveyed the same to Yamaha but individually.

But no strong action has been taken yet.

Now Abhishek(1st R3 owner of India) and founder of YRC has taken the step to consolidate issues from as many R3 owners as possible and send the response to Yamaha's highest authority.

Please provide your input in the below link:

Hi All my issues were resolved and i even got a call from yamaha factory Engineer after my issue was resolved. They are visiting many SVC and checking for any issues personally.

Update - I spoke to the Yamaha Engineer who had come for a visit to one of the dealership.
Explained him about the most common problems in the bike.

Yamaha is coming up with the ABS version soon and it might be up gradable for existing customers.(he said cant give full details as its company confidential info).

They are also gonna launch a sound mod for the bike, he did not reveal much about it but said it will come soon to all dealerships.(full system exhaust).

Yamaha is also coming up with a 600 cc bike soon.
and they left a souvenir for me too at the SVC.

I suggest we make a common document with list of problems and we can submit it to yamaha factory directly.
I have his contact Number but for now i would not be able to share it.
