Taking advantage of an extended weekend due to Mahashivratri, I rode home to Jaipur. The problem was that roughly 50% of NCR population was also driving on the same road so I could not exceed even 100 km/h but after Bawal things improved a bit.

I started out at ~7:30 AM and was home before 10:30 AM (no break in journey) so 3 hours for roughly 270 kms = ~90 km/h average speed. Very nice!

Hi can you shed some light on servicing and maintenance part of the bike.

What would be the service cost after free service from Mahindra ?
I would use the bike more in city, my daily usage is around 70-75kms.

I was gone through the benelli tnt 300 and now doing a comparison with Mojo.

Which one would be a better option as per my commute.

This bike has cheap spares and labour is not too much. For e.g. an oil filter costs Rs 90, a clutch lever is less than Rs 200 etc.
Now if you intend to use this bike mostly in the city, my recommendation is to please test ride this bike in the city extensively. I bought this for everything except city but there are many people who are using this in the city, so if you feel comfortable why not.

As for the Benelli, it will be more expensive w.r.t initial purchase costs and servicing, but to me it seems a bit overkill for city use.

          Thanks Tanay.
After reading about benelli in the forum I got to know their costs and services are very high. As a bike it seems to be too good but maintenance is very high.

As per your info maintenance seems to be low and affordable. Might go for a test ride of Mojo during this week.

+1 what tanay mentioned .Benelli is very heavy on servicing.plus their bike needs serv every 4000 kms.mojo is a brilliant bike.if you are comfortable in city definitely you can take it.

I don't think the feed back was negative ... due to the long travel it's feedback is low. This will take a little getting used to and that's all. ABS will not improve braking by any means ... its more of an aid in panic braking. For an experienced ride lack of ABS will not even matter. And it will add 20K to the price :-( which not make it such a fantastic VFM product.

I'm more of inclined towards the colors they showcased ... that yellow and black looked delicious.
I feel every penny you spend for ABS worth. An experience rider many not need ABS on tracks. but its always a boon to have when riding on public roads, especially in India. its a life saver. As you said, i too agree its a must factor for panic braking. In Indian road conditions, even if you are well expert on brakes, there are chances of panic braking, especially when you are on a powerful bike. I own a cbr250r abs and I faced many instances in city and highway where ABS saved me. unexpected u-turns or lane change of vehicles, presence of oil/gravel when u want to brake, sudden presence of animals etc etc .Even on a highway many casese makes you in danger when you are in a good cruising speed.
I felt ABS not only save rider's life, it saves the costly bike too from a fall. So always best to have ABS. the money what we pay for it worth always.

Don't deny that ABS can save your neck in scruffy situations. But the point being it will not help braking itself. If the brakes are bad, lack bite or feedback then ABS in no way can help you improve that. Case in point being that brakes are not bad and just that feedback is not actual which is a rider habituation issue rather than the vehicle's itself. Braking depends on a lot of things ... type of brakes, size of disks and rotors, number of pistons, size of the vehicle itself, how much will that engine braking help you, the vibration induced in the forks, brake fade and how eagerly it is lost .... I can go on .... and while most of it can be quantified on paper some of them can only be understood by the owner.

Its more important for a rider to understand the braking dynamics of his/her bike rather than depend on the tools. The whole notion that ABS will help with the ads where the Car swerves without ABS while it miraculously stays in a straight line if it has ABS .... not for bikes.

If you can manage to keep your bike straight then ABS will be helpful when your brake is about to lock and a hell lot of things can happen before. You can loose traction, have steering fold, low-side, high-side etc etc.

Call me old fashioned ... but strongly believe rider awareness is critical .... which is surprising what everyone is willing to ignore. 90% of the cases where ABS saves the rider, the rider shouldn't even be in it if they have though out all these.

Apologize if this random 'rant' offends anyone ... but this is my 'truth' and I intend to stick to it.

Agree with some of your points, rider's awareness is the first preference that knowing his limit and bikes limit. but riders talents on braking and calculations works perfectly on tracks, not on our public road. To some extend it works but even an expert's reflex action can make things worse when unexpected things happens. I agree it always good to know braking dynamics rather rely on tools but its not to prove to anyone,I believe in 'SAFETY FIRST ' when we are on public roads, especially in a country where 90% road users or pedestrians doesn't follow any of the traffic manners
If all we need is to be good brakes, why quarter litre to litre class bikes from all brands offers ABS world wide?(where much better roads available and people obey traffic rules)

Not on the track ... on the roads is where rider needs to be a lot more perceptive. Don't take it personally but think ... even with a CBR with ABS, how many people bother checking how their disk or pads, how often do we change the brake hoses, bleed the system for maintenance. Basic things ... not even talking about getting braided lines or other fancy stuff. I can lose traction without even touching the brakes ...

And about what is a powerful bike .... empirically .... an FZ doing 100 kmph is more powerful than a Hayabusa doing 50 kmph.

This is going too OT ... Hope no mojoer's throw bananas at me for this ... PM me in case you want to discuss further.

But I'd still buy a Mojo ... ABS or not. Just hope they release it in Hyderabad before I change my mind and get something else ...

nothing personal bro..its not a place to debate I know
I like Mojo. I never said anything about mojo or its braking capability. I took test ride and I liked the bike except the pillion seat. too tough for pillion to be in position if rider is bit harsh on throttle. Here I just shared my thought and importance of ABS on a bike. thats it...cool

Lucky you got a TD ... I haven't even seen the bike in flesh yet.

There was one kind gentleman from XBHP who was supposed to come to Hyderabad, said I could meet him and see the bike. Waiting ....

bike is huge, good exhaust note and suspension. Engine is smooth and responsive. handle bar is wide and turning it felt a bit heavy(I might felt it bit difficult in traffic because I am adjusted with cbr's clipons and light front end). claimed 30nm torque is not feeling as bike is heavy. but on an open stretch, its just fun to ride. hope you get he ride soon. all the best. soon expecting an initial ownership review

Very true, their parts are very expensive too and they are not readily available. One will have to place the order well in advance. Still some people are buying bikes like tnt300 and tnt250 may be because of their exhaust note and for comfortable pillion seats...

Yes their servicing is a nice marketing strategy.
Also DSK knows very well their other way of earning money is by parts and service.

I think its the most well rounded bike in the segment. Its the only reason I'm still waiting for the Mojo. But if they take too long to launch in Hyderabad then I might have to look for alternatives.

I don't mind a heavy bike as long as 'I' can throw it around. I've had unwieldy bikes earlier ... so I should be OK. And we can always drop the dead weights :-)
