Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
Haha there's nothing unique or no meaning to the login rash....it's just stick to me since my 10th class way back in 2000.Originally posted by Chennai Karthick View PostCongrats Rohan for the TNT25. Ride safe. Rohan is ok whats that Rash man?
I have couple of questions on running in period. What RPM should i maintain and is it advisable to ride the bike in 6th gear very early (first week) to be precise and also should i turn off the bike when i am waiting at the signal as today i was worried when the temperature gauge shoot up.
If the temperature is increased what should i do, because i don't want to end up as a joke for onlookers if my bike stops abruptly. I am planning for a weekend ride to Solapur which is 260 kms from Pune, what precautions should i take while riding the bike and also the posture if the wind is blowing at a very high speed.
On a lighter note I made a mockery of myself on 5th September, 1st ride and petrol refill when i had my bike's side stand on and i tried to start and shift to 1st gear and the bike refused to move. This happened for 5 times and i was so angry that i almost ended up with calling showroom guys and that is when i realised that i had side stand on and read on this forum about the safety feature that bike refuses to accept the gear shifts and move ahead. Onlookers were smiling at me when this incident happened and it was very embarrassing.

[QUOTE=Shubhamdatye;1250622]Having some problem with the gears lately. Whenever it rains and bike goes over water and mud, the gears become hard and a particular smell comes. Going to the service centre. Will update on what the problem was.[/QUOTE
Have a complete look through the manual you'll get every doubt cleared! Congratulations!

Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
Hi Shubham, i checked with Roshan regarding the sticky gear shifts after riding in rain he suggested to clean the connecting rods through which gear lever is connected to engine there are multiple joints there. So after cleabing and a little lubrication there ger shifts became smooth.Originally posted by Shubhamdatye View PostAs of now, chain has been cleaned and lubed. Shifter has been cleaned and lubed too. Things have improved but still not getting the original good feeling.
Yes it's somewhat a burning smell. Will get everything neatly washed. I'm still not able to digest the fact that gears become hard only after going through water. Roshan isn't really sure of what is happening.
And regarding the smell it is from the mud which gets collected on engine once heated smell comes. After washing the bike thouroughly smell has gone away. Thanks,
Anway Kale.

Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
Hi Rohan regarding the initial run in please follow the manual do not cross 5K rpm for first 1600 but in between its ok to cross 5K rpm for few seconds and then again follow the limit and also do not lug the engine i.e. low speed in high gear.Originally posted by rohanrash View PostHaha there's nothing unique or no meaning to the login rash....it's just stick to me since my 10th class way back in 2000.

And regarding the engine heat don't worry as engine is new and in running in phase it will get heated to a large extent but it will eventually subside once the engine is settled in after post run in phase. And regarding your query engine shut off at signal if the signal is red for long time then switch off the engine but remember that if radiator fan is on do not turn of the engine.
Enjoy your ride and follow manual !!Thanks,
Anway Kale.

Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
Thanks Anway....the only point that i am still confused is low speed in high gears...because at 4th gear i feel there is a need fr shifting to 5th but need to control the rpm so is it advisable to clock 60-70kmph speed at 5th?

Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
Hi Rohan, high speed can be acheived but don't cross 5K rpm ocassional busrsts beyond 5K rpm is fine but not for too long.Originally posted by rohanrash View PostThanks Anway....the only point that i am still confused is low speed in high gears...because at 4th gear i feel there is a need fr shifting to 5th but need to control the rpm so is it advisable to clock 60-70kmph speed at 5th?
And regarding the low speed in high gears i meant that for eg if you are doing 50 kmph in 4 gear shift to 5 gear but in case you lower say 40 kmphthe speed don't stay in 5 gear downshift to suitable gear. Don't let engine stressed you will feel bike juddering if you ride in high gears at low speed please use suitable gears. Thanks,
Anway Kale.

Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
Hey guys , got my second service done. They have increased the service cost :/
I am facing some issues - bike suddenly turns off and doesn't start until its on neutral. They said this would require a part which is not available . I have no idea which part does this.

I also got my second servicing done... They are charging Rs.2200/- for servicing... I paid a total of Rs.3820/- incl. consumables.Originally posted by ROHAN SPEEDOFREAK SHARMA View PostHey guys , got my second service done. They have increased the service cost :/

I left the bike at service center at around 10am and was told that I will get it back by 5pm. Finally got it at around 7:15pm. Bangalore center has just 2 ramps and there were many bikes waiting for servicing. Not very sure of the quality of service with minimal staff and increasing demand!
Bike is smoother after the service. I have got the rear shocker relaxed a bit which is certainly helping on bangalore roads. Two things pending though:
1. My bikes speedometer was not working. They said they have fixed it, but found noting done and its in same condition
2. Bikes headlight is focus is off center (towards right). They were in a hurry to close down at 7:15pm and asked me to bring the bike again.

Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
On saturday i completed third service of the bike. No issues were reported and it was a quite major service. Air filter removed and cleaned, Oil filter changed, sparks were cleaned and adjusted and overall a detailed check up was carried and service lasted for good three and half hours. And rear brake pads were also changed as they got eaten up and only 10% life was lefti need to change my riding and braking style as the pad got eaten up in only 6000 kms (experts can you please suggest me care to be taken to increase brake pad life 90 % of my daily riding is in city office commute of 40 kms daily)
Service costs breakup as follows -
Engine oil - 1100
Oil filter - 210
Paid service (labour) - 1680
Rear brake pad (shocker) - 3824
Total - 8060 (incl ser tax and vat)
I was schoked when i get to know that rear brake pads costed 3820 Rs i was amazed when i enquired regarding high costs got the information that they are stintered pads and they are imported so high costs.
And another shocker when i asked costs of rear brake pads for Tnt 300 those costs only 700.. I was beyond amaze (any Tnt 300 owner can please confirm about actual cost)
So overall my third service plus brake pad change caused large dent to my pocket. Anyvody can confirm whether sintered pads costs such a huge ?Thanks,
Anway Kale.

I guess you had a good budget service. Get all the electricals working as soon as possible. Do call them before you go , i do the same as on sunday the showroom had only 1 bike to service when i arrived , that helped me. Also a 600 came from nearby city so they did the service quite well.Originally posted by neelsalg View PostI also got my second servicing done... They are charging Rs.2200/- for servicing... That was a shocker. 8k is way too much , i thought only i paid too much . Mine was 5.3k and with around 1600 as service charge +300 tax so it was 1900 just for the service. They might of brembo as yesturday when i was getting my bike serviced a 600 came, the owner got the rear pads changed for 6300 rs. His overall service cost was 15k . I checked and even even my front pads looks to be worn out . I jave just done 3500 and they are less than 50% . These pads don't appear to be of good quality as they aren't even providing good bite and still getting worn vern soon. My bike also had a good service as the work load was less.Originally posted by anwaykale View PostOn saturday i completed third service of the bike. Yes service cost was high but because of brale pad change my bill came 8060 without it bill was around 3700. My concern is for Tnt 25 brake pads is this much of high cost but for Tnt 300 its only arpund 700 if it is true yet i am cross checking it as i have posted this query in Tnt 300 thread for information on brake pads cost if this is true this is quite schocker.
I also raised my concern that why tgey import brale pads instead of procuring it locally their feedback was they tested locally made brake pads but they got cracked in quite leass time and as safety of rider is more important they decided to import high quality sintered pads for their bikes. Thanks,
Anway Kale.

They are jerks. Tn25 doesn't go beyond 150 and now every bike in this category does go that speed . Bajaj ns, cbr, apache, p220 or whatever and every company uses brakes pads made locally hence they cost 1500 for a set of front and rear. DSK is killing Benelli. And what do they do if everything theydo is charged seprately. They took money for chain lubing, throttle body cleaning and what not so what does that 1600 has ? Just a wash? Its just that the mechanics are good so i don't feel good in fighting to them as its not thier fault but who will bear this high cost. In this was after 5-6 years the maintaining cost will be more than the cost price of bike itself!Originally posted by anwaykale View PostHi Rohan,

I am speechless. I think after warranty we should try to find and use other brand brake pads which are suitable. Thanks,
