10k cancellation charges? What next? Patent the exhaust note so that whoever hears it must pay for the privilege?

I spent 20k total on maintenance for my CBR 250 in 4 years of ownership, and that includes the price of new tyres, engine oil, stickers and seat cover, 2k for accident repair.

Tomorrow I'll be visiting the DSK Benelli showroom to cancel the booking. Will try to negotiate with them to not charge cancellation charges, if they agrees well and good if not still thats fine. Mistakes do happen sometimes in selecting the correct bikes. its better to loose 10k than loosing 2.2L and every 4 months 4k

Duke 200 will be a better choice than benelli when maintenance cost is concerned. All benelli spare part costs insanely high and u can maintain R3 for that matter. But also they wont last long as we used to see in Honda or Yamaha or Kawak.

If you considered overall ownership cost , it will come close to 300 cc twin from Japanese. They should revise the spares cost. They keep the price of the bike low but rob the customers in spares.

Couldn't Be Silent as so many newbies and users complaining on the product.
I am using the bike since last 8 months. Not a single problem. Those who dont want to buy this bike, dont buy, Fine. But dont judge product without use.
The sales of Benelli today is more than RE in Mumbai. Quality of Benelli is Top Notch. Remember all defective benelli parts are replaced free of cost except wear and tear parts. Try doing that with the Bajajs and Hondas and you will know the reality. I have had enough experience with Honda & Bajaj, Pathetic Service is the only Word.

But agree that everyone has right to decide their own ride as user ship reviews helps decide. Hence wanted to add some positive vibes about the bike as well, in midst of criticism.

Way to go Benelli. Happy with your product and service, though a bit expensive but still happy as I know I am riding a Benelli and not just other Honda And Bajaj. So willing to spend more on service if that takes good care of my bike.

                      Cheers! Happy Riding....

                        Hi GTDOM,

I agree with you that quality of Benelli is good and without doubt at par or even better than KTM's and even the dealership is very helpful and friendly. In comparison, KTM/Bajaj or Honda have very poor service quality. However, even Mahindra Mojo is very good and the service is really good but it is cheaper to maintain than Benelli.

The point people are trying to make here is the maintenance costs which are equal to a CKD/CBU product. CBR 250r ABS brake pads cost 2k for front and 1.8k for rear, KTM break pads are at 350 rs for front, in comparison Benelli is almost twice than CBR.

These are things which are not disclosed at the time of the launch and people did not expect this much maintenance cost.

Lastly, i agree that this thread is not the place to rant/discuss against Benelli and we should maintain the purpose of the thread

Today I took my bike for a ride to Synechron in Hijewadi Pune. My bike's temperature did not shoot up and the temperature bar was on 1. I was somehow feeling heat or warm air towards engine and radiator fan did not start as the bike's temperature was normal. Could this be coolant level decreased because when I am trying to check the coolant level unable to check. Day temp might have been around 35 C but did not understand why I was feeling hot air on both the sides of engine. In the evening around 6:30 PM when i was on my way to office experience the same heat and once the fan kicked in it took more than 2 minutes to cool down. Can anybody help (will take my bike to SVC, possibly after Diwali).

GTDOM I am not complaining about the product (still there is lot of small nigles) but service it is flat 2k and what they do in that is change engine oil. You change some defective part which is not under warranty and they charge extra workmanship for that than why the 2 k for chaging the oil ??

8k 3rd service is at par with what they do.

I am against unethical charges for 250 cc single cylinder bike

                              Hi Rohan,
Its completely normal don't worry. We feel hot air coming from engine but fan doesn't gets kicked in as the temperature has not reach that much high it's normal.
And to check coolant level get your bike on paddock or ask someone to sit on bike and hold it straight up to check the coolant level and it is also advisable to idle the engine for two mins before checking the coolant level.
                              Thanks,
                              Anway Kale.
