Couple of complaints I noticed are the occasional engine heat. When that happens, it feels so hot.. asked the service center and they say it's usual.
Second complaint is the very hard gear shift especially down shifting and finding neutral. I had to switch off the bike and only then I could bring it to neutral. Complained about this and last week got a call from the service center. They replaced the clutch assembly and the gear shifting has improved tremendously. Im yet to take a long drive and will know how good the solution is after a long drive.
For those who face this complaint, please check your service center for Clutch Assembly replacement
Have you tried replacing the clutch cable to that of 350s? People here have been vouching that the cable does make a difference. Yes, now that they've replaced the clutch, and you're finding it improved. I would like to know if anyone has changed the clutch componentry as a part of recall and use the 350s clutch cable, how has the experience been.

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

I asked about that, but this seems to be the solution being proposed by the regional service head..

The himalayan had its first fall today and I would say it was my fault.

I stopped to get some snacks and parked the bike on its side stand, I was getting a feeling that it is not stable but stupidly thought it would not fall plus I just needed to pickup a few things to eat and won't take long.

While a person was taking out his bike he gently touched my bike, lo and behold my himalayan was down and my heart was in my mouth.

Quickly came out and looked for damages, the right rear view mirror was broken and the windscreen had few scratches. Thankfully nothing else, went straight to the service centre and got the mirror changed, the windscreen for now I let it be.

Himalayan has completed 900 kms and is not giving much of a trouble for now.

Some lessons you learn the hard way. Not yet would be ordering it asap. The service centre people kept saying they would get it in a week. Would source it from somewhere else now.

If you have yet not decided on the source of the crash guard you may want to contact Vibhas from Zana Motorcycles, New Delhi at 9953112277. He has his factory at Kundli in New Delhi and can courier the crash guard to you, if you like. He also has saddle bag stays which may be helpful to you.

Ouch! Sorry to hear about it.
Glad to know that only minor damages are there and the parts are cheap and easily replaceable.
I hope it will be like the "kaala teeka" to ward off any evil eye, boley toh kisi ki nazar na lage.

                    Cheers and regards,
                    Safe Riding!

PS: Well, technically it is not entirely your fault.

The side stand is not well angled enough to park the bike on. U need a high ground to park the bike comfortably on its side.

The crash guard looks neat, but I wonder if it would have problems of muck collection in the cloth like wires on it. Plus it would make rusting quick of crash guard in rainy season. Is there any difference on price for the wired leg guard and without wired leg guard? As for the saddle bag stay why did they remove the rear luggage rack? Himalayan looks good with original rear

Thanks for the info I really appreciate.

Yes absolutely dust settling issues and rusting are definite potential issues which even i thought of, unless its made of nylon which I feel may not absorb water. But even then I would be going for the un-roped ones. Vibhas quoted INR 3,200 for both, if I went to his factory and had it fitted. Did not query about the courier charges since I would personally go across, would help in checking out the quality myself before I buy it. Yeah totally agree with you - it looks slick with the rear rack, no idea why he took it off though.

                              Cheers mate !
