FI on the RE bikes have been problematic, as we can see form the number of complaints from the users. Which was because of the type of FI system being used on the RE bikes when compared to other bike manufacturers. But I thought this was already addressed, and the newer FI 500s don't fail as much as the old ones do. Correct me if I'm wrong!
Also, FI needs proper care, like maintaining good amount of fuel in the tank, using quality fuel etc., So, FI shouldn't be bad on the Himalayan.. Let's hope..

Nops. Nothing's been addressed, check the Conti-GT thread(Its a comparatively newer bike), visit any "big" RE SVC, you'll realize that.

And, nops again. Just need to maintain proper amount of fuel for any "FI" bike. Rest applies to carb as well, to the full extent - cleaning, quality fuel etc.

RE needs to get their shit straight IMHO, its time.

        Regards.

Can anyone share the contact details of a good paint shop in Mumbai? Need to get everything including the frame to be painted. How much does it cost nowadays?

Went in for a Test Ride today.. The ergonomics was spot on, the seat, the suspension, almost perfect. The bike felt responsive, and a quick downshift and full rev, does pull fast enough for city riding conditions. Although going on a classic 350 to the showroom, and test riding the Himalayan, made me feel the stark contrast in the 2 bikes from RE's stable, and I still can't figure out what exactly it was and if it's a good thing or a bad thing.. Either way am not fully convinced on the Himalayan as of now, need to checkout a couple fo other vehicles I have in mind.

Also, regarding BS4 variant. The Chennai showroom guy said, there is going to be a Rs.5000 hike in price. And the only change is the BS4 compliance, and nothing else.. No EFI, or ABS etc., Not sure how much he knows, but that's what I got from him..

Kind of interested and curious to know the reasons regarding which you weren't convinced. What other bikes do you have in mind?

I am hearing EFI to be included, but no ABS that's what Bangalore guys are telling me.

              Peace

                Yeah Just curious.
For what the hell they are charging 5k or more i guess, if they are not changing to EFI.Due to
BsIV ?(i think its their responsibilty to make their production to meet the norms, even bajaj chrged only 1k increment correct if im wrong)
They ve got a feeling that people will come to buy RE even if thers a prob) thats why their customer srvice is so poor.
Its like m not an RE fan but himalayan made me so and now like this thread and OWNERS experiance made me think dafaqq

                No offencce n peace 🤐

I think it mainly had to do with the way the bike's exhaust note sounded, which was not of my liking.. Especially when twisting the throttle all the way.. May be it grows on you, either way, the wait is on for the BS4 variant.. Will do one more test ride and decide..

Thhe other bike I have in mind is the Dominar, which I didn't consider at first, because it looks too similar to my old NS, but it seems to have good reviews and vfm too.. So will be test riding that soon, to see how much different/better than NS it is..
