I am hearing that it will be BS4 compliant and will have FI. But nothing about ABS.
Pls correct me if I am wrong.

Just had a word with the sales guy at Jaipur COCO store, he says that there are about 30 odd changes in the new model. Carb jets have been changed, the odometer has been rectified of the moisture issue and a few other changes. It should be available by mid April or initial May. Also Himalayan is the only product from thier entire portfolio which is taking time else all other bikes have been updated to BS-4 and soon it will hit the stores.

30 changes!? wow.. So, I guess EFI is pretty much out of the question for the Indian Himalayan..

Btw, was reading through Himalayan posts in the Royal Enfield forums, a few of the complaint threads regarding the ride are super scary!

Bro thats only a way for the sales guy to meet his targets. The new Himalayan is slated to come with EFI and not with carb. The new H is slated to be about 15K more expensive to accommodate for EFI costs, BS4 and the new taxation. There are no other changes in the new H, not really sure about minor changes like the moisture thingy and other minor stuff. The updated H is slated to arrive mid April and only then would deliveries commence, of course bookings would be taken before hand.

Yup you are bank on my friend. No ABS but EFI is definitely on. If this is the case I would prefer going for the BS3 version with the carb since EFI takes the fun out of being able to fiddle around with carb settings. Well, thats just my take.

              Peace out !

Haha. True bhai. But I would have loved to have ABS. As such I have learnt to handle the bike with 70-30 principle, but in India you never know, someone or something will come out of nowhere, it can be humans, dogs, cows, unmarked speed breakers. It's the night time that scares me the most.

While I am happy with the carb version, I wonder how and what changes will the EFI and BS4 complaint system will make on the H? (Esp. in regard to the feel of riding the bike)

                Peace

Fi would make it less reliable.

EFI is not mandatory under BS4. Are they not giving an option between a carb and efi?

Yep. Specially the FI system used by RE. Legends say it's as unreliable as my ex.

                      Regards.

I know a lot of Classic 500 guys who changed to carb, because of endless issuee on Fi.

Yes, I know one guy here who had done it. He ended up fu*king the entire bike and sold it dirt cheap. It was painful to watch.

                          Thanks.

                            Hey.
You guys think there would be some sort of an exchange program where we give in the old H ( other than minor issues like the rear brakes failing ,chassis breaking , engine replacement, clutch assembly replacement ,cone replacement, etc ) and get the new one's ?

Carb tuning and/or change in ignition timing and/or changes in catalytic converter.
