Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
I had enquired about Duke 200 after waiting for Himalayan for almost 4 months. They said it takes almost 2 days for delivery. I was in tears.Originally posted by stealth47 View PostDominar is ready to buy

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Fair to say, we can expect the vehicles on or after August in India delivery. RE is taking things for granted and busy exporting machines to other regions.Originally posted by kris989 View PostI had enquired about Duke 200 after waiting for Himalayan for almost 4 months. Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Duke 250 is 25 days for delivery at Kandivali ktm, Mumbai. I am slowly veering towards this bike. On road price is 2.07 lacs w/o any type of accessories. Almost Himalayan price.Originally posted by sachin_k5 View PostHa ha ha ha..
Today i am going to checkout Duke 250. I guess the only other alternatives are the duke 250 and dominar.
One thing i liked is the bike is not ridden around for registration. It comes to the dealer in truck and only the papers go to the rto. So basically you get a non ridden ktm.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
It's alright. By that time Honda and KTM will be launching their own adventure series and Himalayan will be soon out of the league. I think it's high time people stop tolerating RE.Originally posted by KennyKL01 View PostFair to say, we can expect the vehicles on or after August in India delivery. Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
That's right. K Versys 300, KTM 390 Adventure Edition, BMW G 310 GS etc will yield the market by the time.Originally posted by kris989 View PostIt's alright. Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Hi all, I wanted to inquire if any REH owners have got their bike CO tuned. I do not trust the the RE mechanics to be able to tune a carb, all they do is play around with the idle screw and expect to make a fool out of the customer. The irony is that when asked to tune the carb using the AFR screw and not the idle screw they dont know what to be done (this actually happened with me - the mechanic tells me that 1.5 turns of the AFR is enough to have an optimally tuned carb - for Pete's sake my NS200 used to run at about 2.5 - 3 turns so how is it possible that the REH with a 400cc engine to run at 1.5)
Anyhow if anyone has recently measured their machines' CO levels, and is happy with the mileage and performance, would appreciate if you could let me know so that I can set the CO at the same level. Help appreciated. This could then also be used as a starting point for tuning since ALL of us go to have the PUC Check done anyway.
As someone mentioned out here on this forum, with the onset of the KTM's and BMW's adventure series RE is sure going to have to take the Chevrolet way albeit without a choice since their machines would be more than just defunct.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
A more adventure focused form of AS200 or may be a 250 based on duke250.Originally posted by PrinceCruise View PostWhich adventure tourer is Bajaj coming up with?

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Good for them if they do it. However almost the entire web shows - based on Dominar 400 platform.Originally posted by IamAditya View PostA more adventure focused form of AS200 or may be a 250 based on duke250.

I hope its neither based on Domi nor AS, but something more flexible.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Gaurav,
The pilot screw is responsible for idle to 1/8 throttle. So adjusting carb by AFR screw us very little to do in whole rev range. Also carb for REH and NS200 is different (though both are BS33).
Can you confirm the pilot jet size of both the carbs.
Don't misunderstand the re mechanic here but we need to do our homework.
For my 500 I am using 3.5 turns out however it works fine with 2.5 or 3 turns out also.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
The new date is 15th August. Yes thats what I have been told by Area Sales Manager in Delhi. I mean this is crazy, a tourer is not in the market when the season is on.Originally posted by kris989 View PostSo now the delivery date is July. It's getting close to human gestational age. Way to go RE.
They are yet to begin production for Indian units.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
It's fine. It's sad there is no other option for a tourer in our country as of now but things will change by the final quarter of 2017 as there are upcoming tourers from other solid and trustworthy companies. Sorry to say this but RE let most of the people down and me personally wouldn't go back.Originally posted by shashank.walia View PostThe new date is 15th August.
