As a soon-to-be owner of the Himalayan, I have query for the present owners : Are the tubes and tyres of the bike’s spec available only in Ceat?

Came across a YouTube video yesterday where the guy goes out hunting in his town to Ceat showrooms and they seem clueless about the tyre/tube model itself. [emoji849]

I do know that most RE showrooms are stockists for the tyre+tube set, but then again, I’m just wondering if there are any other sources too.

Any info on this would be appreciated please. Thanks in advance!

Sadly only RE dealers have those sizes in stock and that too they charge a bomb. I got hold of rear tires from some tire dealer in Bangalore and got it transported to Nagpur. It cost me Rs 33xx with tube while the RE stock had MRP of 58xx without tube. Michilein was supposed to launch these sizes but sadly there is no news. Its available in europe so there are chances. For rear one can opt for Ralco speed blaster but its one size down i.e. 120/80- 17. The offroading capabilities take a small hit though. With the launch of Hero Xpulse this might change though. It has front 90/90-21 same as Himalayan but the rear is an 18inch one. Hope this changes because many H owners have completed 10 to 15k and they will need sanely priced tires. Who wants to pay 6xxx for a Ceat?

The REH is a very flexible bike for mods. Have seen many people trying different wheel sizes... with change in wheel sizes the Tyre options widen... The brave owners (mostly out of warranty bikes) can try this route...

          Check on one such Mod's

Aluminium rims discription . Front 1.8 / 21 ( 9 k rs )and rear 5 / 17 ( 15k rs ) . This rims are light in weight which give faster rotation then normal Steel...

Was so tempted to book earlier too, but I waited out the past few months for the BS4 owner reviews before I took the plunge.

The Himalayan, in my view, has settled down to be a typical RE product (lots of lovin’ required) but with a better engine & fantastic rider + pillion comfort.

Good for those who’re okay with some old-school DIY & not for those who won’t get their hands dirty!
Same story here also. Booked the bs4 granite last week and waiting.
If not to get the hands and bike dirty, what is adventure in riding?
Ready to risk and DIY. And the bike, its been a dream from launch day.

Eeps! 6k for Ceat tyres are definitely steep! +1 for the 'tyre-jugaad' mentioned I suppose one can only hope other alternatives become available in the market eventually. Thanks much for the inputs! But Dang! This means carrying spare tubes on tours is a must.

A very interesting option! And there's added benefits of decreased load on the engine too. I'm sure the tyre life will increase too, if there's more highway rides & less off-roading with the tyres shown in the video. Much appreciate the share & the info.

Very useful info, buddy! Amazon prices are fair enough : 4K for the rear and 3K for the front. Nice, seems reasonable enough.

I tried the Michelin link via mobile so I didn’t dig too deep for the pricing. But good to know we have options from a better brand too - though the Michelins on my car wore out in a jiffy.

Thanks for the share and since it’s Amazon, I can get deliveries to both the places I’m usually at - Coimbatore & Calicut. Cheers!

Now it’s back to the waiting for the delivery...[emoji849]

I’m just curious to know what are the official accessories for the REH besides the jerrycans, the Panniers & their mounts.

I don’t recall reading about anything more - did I miss something perhaps?

Heard from a dealer that soon we'll have hand guards, off road exhaust, etc...

Am I the only one who got a call from RE Service centre about a wheel replacement?
Yes, my front and back wheel got replaced (isn't it a silent Recall?).
Service engineer wasn't updated about the issue as well.
Mine is an REH BS4 and got it done from Indran Nagar Service Centre.
