I was spoilt by the hassle free nature of the old FZ I owned for four years. Sadly it crashed bad and despite a total overhaul, it was never the same again. Therefore sold it and went for the Apache.
There is almost nothing worng with bike man.. m on 4000km mark & bike ls working like a charm till now... Few niggles are part of owning a bike.. don't worry go ahead & buy this beauty 😀

Bike has done 1700 kms to the date, with first service done at 700 kms.
I faced the same issue for a while my problem was with the chain slackness, check if your chain is having a proper slackness set according to the manual. If it's too loose, the bike's response to throttle will be lagging and a whizzing sound of the chain will be prominent and if it's too tight, the risk of chain break is high and a gruntled sound will be very audible. More over check even your tyre pressure while correcting your chain. This would most probably solve your problem. These issues are very small and are often missed by the service due to their extra work. Try to solve it yourself or go get your chain checked and lubed properly regularly from a local mech. Get your chain checked every 700- 800 kms interval And most importantly clean bike will solve these issues.

      Happy and safe riding.
      Regards.

The chain is giving me problems since day 1. Got it adjusted multiple times at SVC, and still it gets overtight after few days. I have motul C1 and C2 for cleaning and lubrication of the chain, and I do lube it after 400-500 kms.
Here is the video of the running chain.

I believe that the chain is jumping a bit and causing the problem. Can someone please have a look and confirm if the chain jumping is fine.

Also, there is slight mismatch in the chain adjustment.Click image for larger version

P.S. The pic is taken from Right side of the bike. So consider the shorter distance for the chain setting.

DO NOT QUOTE the entire PICTURE SET. Remove pics when quoting posts with pictures.

I think the chain is loose and going by the mismatch in adjustment of chain settings, your chain will tend to move in a parabolic motion. Get it rectified soon and due to that your chain seems to be tight at some places and loose at places and may be that's why that jump in chain. Also if possible try to remove the drive sprocket cover and clean the muck which gets gathered due time. The muck is because of the lube oil and road dirt mixed and collected there.

After almost 7 years did a bike tour from Mumbai to lonavala and return today. I go there regularly but not on bike I go normally by car. Also this is my first solo ride. Total distance covered 235kms. Enjoyed the ride didn't feel tired apart from bum soreness..[emoji12] . But then I didn't take much breaks also. Had gone to the temple visit there and after that return back. Bike was awesome on the road. Only thing that I missed to 6th gear which would have given this bike the added smoothness. Many a times while riding in 5th gear I tried to change the gear upwards and then saw its already in 5th. Haven't checked the average. Filled 600 rs. of petrol appro. 8 litres and still there petrol is left so haven't calculated anything.

If I look at your video closely, your chain jumps at a particular point in the in the upper chain run. I suspect it's a hard master link. Chain jumping can be caused by too tight a master link and jammed rollers. Also your chain alignment isn't perfect. On the left we have almost middle and on the right we have hardly any movement, this will create / pattern of the tire and will increase the chain wear and produce unnecessary vibes and high to low speed.

If you're under warranty, show this video to your svc, tell them it's not supposed to jump and also the alignment is incorrect. Get the slack readjusted, wheels trued and it should sort out the issue. If the chain still jumps, replace the chain. It's imperative to make them know of the jumping chain, as it's totally not normal.

                  Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                  The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thanks @B7ACHTHORN .I had shown this video to Svc but they said its normal and I was quite surprised to hear this, hence posted the video here.
Mostly, I will get the chain set changed. Just depends if they change it under warranty or not. I am ready to buy a new chain set on my own too, but can't run my bike anymore with faulty parts/setting.

                    Warm Regards,
                    NS

Is it a direct fit? (140 rear tyre). Even i am thinking about changing rear tyre..

Fork oil seals are never to be ignored. Especially on performance bikes like the RTR. Get it fixed ASAP than delaying till the periodic service.

Additionally fork oil seal must be covered under warranty, ensure you do not pay anything for this.

                            Cheers

Could you please explain, were there any sudden juds or pots holes the forks were subject too or dusty conditions? It's disheartening to see the Kayaba setup leaking so soon. Do keep us posted on the price of the oil seal, if any. Even though it's under warranty, some pictures of the seal and price and packing would come in handy.

                                Mileage update:

Checked the bike mileage this time. Had gone for a short trip to Lonvala for return the same day. Filled 600 rs. of petrol on highway (7.90 litres in total was filled). That time the bike was in reserve and had ridden about 10kms from reserve. Till know have covered 320kms(including 10kms) not gone in reserve still but reserve will start in about 5kms max. as per my experience with this bike. So that comes to 40+ kmpl which is very good. I am loving it!!!.....
