    Hey,
I'm looking for my first bike, and have shortlisted two: Gixxer SF FI, and RTR 200.
Wanted to know is the difference in power very evident even in city conditions?
I am 6"1', so can the gear shifter be adjusted to a lower setting?
Also, should I opt for Pirelli's? Heard that stock tyres also give decent grip, and have more life!

    Hi,
I am also looking to buy the RTR 200. Some queries:
    1. I am 6"1'. Can't the gear lever be adjusted to a lower setting?
    2. I am confused between this and Gixxer SF Fi. Since you already own RTR 160, do you think the difference in power is significant? (I'll ride in city and mostly solo)
    3. You said vibrations! (All reviews said it's one of the most refined bike)?
    4. Any news on launch of FI variant? When will it be available?
    5. Why is ABS so important? The bike already has 2 discs, so it is still so important?
    6. This would by my first bike, so is it easy enough for a newcomer? Is it as effortless to ride in city, as say the Gixxer?

First of all this both bike power is different, so there should not be any camparison. Still if you like the feel of that power you will not find in Gixxer, it's very decent bike.
Both bike is smooth but Gixxer is smoother.
RTR will have wind blast after 90 as it is naked.
The horn of Gixxer is like scooty make you feel ashamed of using it which could be good as lots of people honk.
Rear brake of Gixxer is shit and will put you in panic condition if you will use it.
I reached 136kmph on my RTR and my friend reached 126kmph on his Gixxer, so there is not much difference but acceleration of RTR is way better than Gixxer. I felt gear shift is smoother in 200.

If you want to feel the bike and fuel economy is not your concern then definitely go for 200. If you want a bike which is super smooth that's all and good fuel economy then go for Gixxer.

Before deciding and going for Gixxer and regretting later please go for test ride and try to feel the ride and power. You will not get FI in 200 and there is no update when it will come.
Once there was a man and a Bike....
      They have seen once only.....

If your budget permits do get pirelli. It offers you much better grip. It will help you use the bike at its full potential, like cornering, grip on both wet and dry tar.

Tvs tyres are one of the worst tyres there is in the market, heard lot of negative reviews on em.

This you've read in general, or you've seen specific criticism for these Remora tyres on RTR200?

The Remora tyres are rather decent actually, and have been reviewed quite well. A far cry from the terrible Eurogrips(slips) still being shipped on certain Bajaj products. That is bizarre!
