Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Thanks for clearing my doubts.Originally posted by deepakmadhivanan View PostCongrats in the first place...
And:
1. When compared to smaller bikes larger engines will be vibey at slow speeds but it’ll be lot smoother at high speeds. So Wait till the run in. Ride below 5000rpm for first 1000kms.
2. If it’s noisy at normal speeds it’s not right. Check the clutch play and chain slackness. But wait till run-in may be the clearances will be very close.
3. Any vehicle after run-in will give better average. But the figure you’ve mentioned is too low. It’ll return an average above 32kmpl at a worst case otherwise it’s ridden hard. Please check it again with a test can to ensure this.
4. It won’t do any harm because the engine had not taken to it’s limits. No engine is made that weak.
Thanks. I enquired about the colours available in the abs variant. Dealer told me that only glossy black or glossy white is available in abs version. And the sticker on the tire hugger was actually a label that had manufacture date and other things written on it which the salesperson removed when he showed it to me.Originally posted by abs4 View PostHey man congratulations, did you enquire about other colours in the abs variant, or do we get black only. Also can you post pictures of the tyre hugger with the abs sticker and the abs rings on the tyres(look for abs ring on Google images to get an idea of what it looks like)
Also here are the pics of the abs ring. Apparently on the RTR 200, the abs ring is hidden behind a cover.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I have convered about 350 km.... Have a few doubts. I have the 1st Gen ABS model.
While starting from a stand still, upon engaging 1st gear and slowly releasing clutch and slightly giving acceleration, I noticed that once in a while the bike stalls. This happens very rarely and I generally raise the rpm to 2k and then start letting go of the clutch so that the bike doesn't stall
Also when the bike is in Neutral, when very slowing giving throttle input, the rpm drops from 1.2k to 1.0k and then again starts raising.
Also, can anyone suggest hand grips? After driving for about 20ish km palms pain a little even though I use gloves.

It looks like an issue with carburettor or its tuning. Check for any leaks in the intake system and tune the carburettor. The idle speed should between 1300-1500 rpm.Originally posted by vspraneeth View PostI have convered about 350 km.... Have a few doubts. I have the 1st Gen ABS model.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hello members, any idea about ABS variant being available?? I am a resident of Bhubaneswar, Odisha and all the dealers here are clueless about the availability of ABS variants. They aren't even ready to accept booking amounts. They keep on saying the ABS variant is not being sent by company.
Is this the case only in Odisha or ABS is available in other states?

same problem here in Chhattisgarh too. dealers have no idea about it and saying it will never launch as it's a small city. lolFz25 2018 (ABS retrofitted)

I guess that is the reason because I asked a dealer in Vizag, and they said ABS variant can be booked and the bike will be delivered within 1 month of booking.Originally posted by slopegatri View Postsame problem here in Chhattisgarh too. dealers have no idea about it and saying it will never launch as it's a small city. lol

I have done 28K.Originally posted by Om1234 View PostLooking reply from a person who has clocked more than 20k kms on rtr 200
How is the parts and engine build quality as compared to ns200?
Build quality is great, however I had an issue with an engine part and boy I had to struggle in procuring the part. But in my knowledge this is only one isolated/rare incident.
Otherwise it is a great bike.

Update: I was able to get the shaft, got it replaced and the bike is flying again. I have noticed lot of improvements (obvious) after the part (M7080450) replacement. Bike has become more responsive, all my shifts issues are gone, incorrect gear indications issue gone. Also, I got to know that TVS has upgraded the front sprocket and made it lighter and has added some rubber padding (no clue why, maybe someone can throw some light on it. I forgot to take pictures.)Originally posted by juzar30986 View PostHello,
I have covered 27K+ kms without any issues untill recently, when I had the first breakdown. Upon investigation it seems the shaft connecting front sprocket has worn out due to which there is no movement in front sprocket and the bike has become pretty much useless. Long story short, I am not able to get the part anywhere in Pune.
Can someone please help me in getting the part, its been 2 weeks now and I am not able to use the bike
Regards
Juzar
P.S. I was not expecting such kind of issues in the bike, my trusted mechanic tells me that he has seen this issue in other 2-3 bikes as well. If this is the case then least TVS can do is make that part available easily.
Hopefully it doesn't open pandora's box (crossed fingers)
In the pursuit of the part, I found the main supplier of spares for TVS in Pune. So if any of you need any part for any TVS vehicle, I would be able to help
.

I just happened to walk into Mandar TVS in Kharadi for Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0(Oh Boy, it is a long name).Originally posted by juzar30986 View PostI have done 28K.

Apparently, regular 200 and 2.0 version price difference for base model(just addition of ART slipper clutch) is just 1.4k.
Regular 200 4V - 1.10
RE 2.0 200 4V - 1.11.
Not getting a good deal for my R15 hence the wait to get 200 home.Regards,
Akash Yadav
