Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Regardless it’s new or not check the condition of the engine oil. And also check the oil pump for proper circulation. Before all open up the air filter and check for any blocks. It looks like an uncommon problem. Take the vehicle to a good local mechanic if nothing works.Originally posted by hemnath View Post

I am also getting same problem..heating issue near leg its managable.but it was not beforeOriginally posted by hemnath View PostSpark plug i have changed to new stock one.
rtr 200 spark plug differs from rtr 180's spark plug and it has more gap than rtr 180's spark plug
I have recently changed to a new air filter.
Problems i am facing.
1) engine heat in the toes and legs after driving for 5-8 kms. It was way too much, before i set the carb tuning to 3 turns, previously it was around 2.25 or 2.5.
2) bike performance, hardly manages to climb 80kmph,
3) engine refinment, bike feels harsh after 5-8 kms.
I am fed up with svc, they just sucks
1.From last few days the engine perfomance is too low and pick up is also too low.
2.Engine is just crying to go beyond 60 or 70kmph.Do i need to hange air filters, spark plug and timing chain?
3.Before this i was able to ride comfortably with 80 or 90kmph.
4.Odo is 4650.3rd service due.also i noticed handling issue something from front fork assembly or cone set up.i am not able to rectify.

For 1/2/3 - get the carburetor tuned properly. Do get the air filter and chain checked and cleaned.Originally posted by sommurider View PostI am also getting same problem..heating issue near leg its managable.but it was not before

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Even I visited TVS showroom in my area. The sales advisor quoted me 1.32 lakh on road for Apache 2.0 ABS. But when I turned to negotiations he took me to sales manager where he completely declined to deliver Apache 200 in ABS not even in non race spec. He said company is not doing production for the ABS model. He was ready to deliver any model else than ABS. When I asked any speculation about ABS model? He said he can't assure me anything.

Looks like TVS is following IT company's footsteps - over commit and under deliver.
I was told about the price of the ABS variant but waiting is indefinite.
Race Edition 2.0 with slipper clutch is available immediately.Regards,

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
1) Change the engine oil / oil filter. (Ask the svc to change the TVS engine oil on your presence, will cost you 700rs including labour).
2) The bike Air filter needs attention for every 4k-5k kms its gets real dirty even @ 4k kms.
3) If needed tune the carb after you change the oil and air filter.
4) Ask the SVC to check the front sprocket, as this gets wears out soon, and it is changed under warranty.
If you have checked all the above 4 and you still have some issues, then the problem is uncommon as mine, i am still to figure out what is the problem with my bike.
5) Regarding the handling issue, just slight tigh the cone set nut, as it gets loose more often.

Check whether the engine oil is changed or not. Apache motorcycles are very sensitive to engine oil.Originally posted by sommurider View PostI am also getting same problem..heating issue near leg its managable.but it was not before

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Bro, carb tuning is done only with the slow speed circuit. It do the fuel volume control on idle to lower mid engine speeds. After 1/4th of the throttle or post 4000 rpm the slow speed circuit tapers and main circuit will takes on.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostFor 1/2/3 - get the carburetor tuned properly. It looks like the problem is with the engine oil.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hi Everyone,
I have just completed a month with my Apache RTR 200 ABS and the time for the 2nd service has come up.
Need valuable suggestions, like on which things I should keep an eye on.
My first Service experience was like a bad dream...... vibrations from the front body, noise from the chain sprocket and one dent for free.
Thanks in advance.
