  • Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience

Hello RTRers I was looking to get my hands on the workshop manual for Apache RTR 200 4v Carb variant.

Anyone has any idea where I can get one? Or if you have it any chances it can be shared with other owners?

ps. I am not talking about the owners manual. I need access to workshop manual. Something the service center uses to train or refer to when they face odd issues.

Around 2.5 to 3 turns anti-clockwise of the volume control screw from full tightened position . More you open the screw, richer the fuel air ratio will be.

Can you confirm me whether it is 2.5 or 3. My carb tuning was messed up, need to set it back to stock setting.

There is no such fixed setup. It differs a bit from vehicle to vehicle. Every vehicle is tuned individually before it leaves the factory. Do the standard procedure for carburettor tuning to get the right ratio. Increase the idle speed and open up the screw from full tightened position till u get the maximum and uniform engine speed.

I've attached the manuals in the first page of quite a while ago. Have posted here again for your reference. These are proper exploded views of parts, and detailed service manual.

Setting it to 3 turns has reduced the heating a bit, but mileage got a hit, its down from 35 to 30 kmpl.
Questions to rtr 200 owners does the bike heat a bit after riding after 5-8 kms. I was able to feel the heat on my legs and toes before, and it has considerably reduced after resetting the carburetor tuning to 3 turns.

Try anywhere less than three turns. Check the engine rpm at that zone.

Checked the spark plug color, after driving with this setup for nearly 100 kms, and the colour is very much white, am i running still lean???. Even after 3 turns.

Or do i have to clean the carb in the svc, will that help.

Buddy If the carburettor is unclean, you won’t get a proper idle speed. Check the plug gap. Too much gap could lead to whiter electrodes.
But what’s ur problem with the bike now? Is there any problem with performance, engine smoothness or any uneven idling after warm up?

Spark plug i have changed to new stock one.
rtr 200 spark plug differs from rtr 180's spark plug and it has more gap than rtr 180's spark plug
I have recently changed to a new air filter.

                                Problems i am facing.
                                1) engine heat in the toes and legs after driving for 5-8 kms. It was way too much, before i set the carb tuning to 3 turns, previously it was around 2.25 or 2.5.

                                2) bike performance, hardly manages to climb 80kmph,

                                3) engine refinment, bike feels harsh after 5-8 kms.

I am fed up with svc, they just sucks
