    1. Checked with 2 mrf dealers on FY1, but both said that it will affect suspension badly.
    2. Is zapper s better than remora by a good margin? I have used Mrf vyde in p150 and this is a great tyre. However it is not available in 130/70. Not sure about the grip levels of zapper s. Can you please help.
    3. Rtr's cannot for fit 140 section in rear. I am inclined to mrf Revz but they are puncture prone. Any other suggestion?

Also, I am okay with the stock pirellis. Are there any pointers to buy the same in Pune.

    Thanks,
    NS
The Remora tyres are a significant improvement over the past products from TVS. Most bike review shows have stated that the stock Remoras surprised them with their grip levels. They are as good as the MRF ones you have mentioned. Perhaps only THE RevZ and Massetters from MRF are better.

I am also surprised that the dealer told you that upsizing will hamper the suspension. The 140/70 R17 rear should be a perfect fit on the RTRs and will not have any negative effects whatsoever. The Bajaj 200NS has the exact same stock tire as our RTRs. But most owners I know have upgraded to a 140 section from either Ceat (Zoom XL) or Michelin PSRs and have seen grip levels and stability improve noticeably.

I would really suggest some more research as a single step increase in the rear tyre size would have no negative effects for sure. And IMHO, a 200cc motorcycle should have a 140 stock in any case. Bajaj and TVS are the only companies that are somehow not providing them on their street fighters.

FY1 is a very good tyre. Maybe the dealer said that because it comes in 90/80 profile rather than the 90/90 stock. I suggest you to go for it.

The rear can accomodate a 140 section tyre. Someone has already fitted a 140/70 Masseter.

      EDIT - See below post.

By mistake pressed the enter key..
Before attaching the new tyre pics..
      Sorry for that..
Here are the new tyre pics....Mrf Masseter..[emoji41] ..front regular zapper..90/90

          Hi bro,

          1. 90/80/17 doesn't affect the suspension and etc! Just a hoax. Go for it, very grippy tyre. You'll be very very happy. The One Make series guys are running on the same at times.
          2. Pirelli pilot sporty, if you can find one.
          3. You can easily upsize till 150. So 140 is a breeze.
          4. Zapper S is an amazing tyre. Impeccable grip.
          5. Masseter even better than Zapper S.
          6. Buy online from The MRF website. Their prices are lesser than 50% as compared to the dealers from the same tyre.

Zapper FS is not good. It's medium compound.

              Hi [MENTION=77131]ALI.R[/MENTION],

              1. Having used Euroslips for 20k kms earlier, I can easily say that Remora's are much better. The problem is that half of the roads in Pune are glazed and Remora's give up easily under braking/cornering. Also, I like cornering and Remora's fail to inspire the confidence on road.
              2. Dealer told that the front suspension will get affected if I use FY1 tyre, because of the reduce sidewall height.
              3. Regarding the upsize, I was in doubt that the wider tyre will rub against the inner mud guard. But someone already has put 140 section Masseter and it looks fine. Also, Masseter has rounder profile compared to revz, which can attribute to easy fitting.

[Nitish] : This tyre is on my mind.
              2. Pirelli pilot sporty, if you can find one.
[Nitish]: Pirelli pilot sporty or Michelin pilot sporty? I guess Michelin pilot SPORTY is not that good. Heard very bad reviews about it. However I have never driven a bike with this tyre, so can't comment.
              3. You can easily upsize till 150. So 140 is a breeze.
              [Nitish] : Okay!!

[Nitish] : Masseter 140/70 and MRF FY1 combo should cost around 5500. This is good price considering that the pirelli variant is nearly 5000 rs costlier than remora variant.
Zapper FS is not good. It's medium compound.

              I still have few doubts.
              1. Is FY1 + Masseter combo good for my RTR? FY1 is a radial tyre while Masseter is not. Will this cause any problem at high speed runs/ cornering/ bad roads etc?
              2. Will 140 section touch with the tyre hugger, especially with pillion onboard? Anyone having a personal experience on this?
              3. Will the grip level be in vicinity of the Pirelli combo?

              Thanks in Advance

                1. My bad. Sorry. I meant Pirelli Sport Demon.
                2. Radial? I don't think so. It works very good on the R15 V2.0/S.
                3. 140/70/17 will never touch the swing arm. Don't worry.
                4. The grip levels are amazing.
                5. If you get michelin pilot street at 140/17/17 go for it. But i don't think you get that size in India.

Also remoras are decent enough. I corner on them like a boss. Never lost confidence. I always manage to scrape my silencer, so yeah they do grip. But as always extra grip is never bad.

Masseter is a track tyre. So definitely it's very good.

The FY1 is the stock tyre on the R15. The grip is very good, trust me, I have used this on the unicorn 160 (whose stock size was 80/100). Plus, FY1 is a popular replacement for the Pulsar 180/220, no issues at all.

It is not radial. MRF's radials come under the Revz brand.

It won't touch the tyre hugger.

Grip is good, not sure if it's at the same level as the Pirelli. But it is cheaper (I'm not sure).

[MENTION=76522]JS16[/MENTION] you do get Michelin pilot street 140/70 in India. In fact, I'm using it on my Gixxer. Since 140/70 is a common size in the 200-300cc segment, the pilot street is quite popular.

I would choose pilot street over these. I love that tyre. You are right, that's why i said if that size is available. Generally what I see is 150/60/17 :P

Yes. Michelin PSR 140/70 R17 is available easily and a lot of Ns200 and CBR owners are using it. Having used them (150/60) for more than 10,000 kms on my FZ, I'd say that they felt as grippy and stable (if not more) than the Pirellis on my RTR. Oh, and they are amazingly puncture resistant.

Once I have munched through the stock tyres, will shift to Michelins without a single thought.
