Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Any of you guys have tinkered around with the adjustable rear suspension? Was wondering how much can it be tweaked to suit the riding conditions. Softer for the city, stiffer for the twistees! After all we've got KYB(!!!) shocks so might as well play around with them.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Completed 11000 Kms today. Bike has been awesome thru this period with some small niggles. Will be going for 5th servicing by this week end. There is some vibration in the front headlight assembly like some part has got loosen. Tried finding it myself but unable i think will need to remove the headlight assembly and check. Will rectify the same in this servicing.
Average still in range of 35-38 kmpl with mixed ride and mixed roads (City + Highway)

Thats great broda.....Keep going
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
Team...its 7th day with ODO counting approx. 160 Kms... Facing few issues as mentioned:
1. Today morning, all of sudden Bike was not starting - it was around 11 AM. That moment, I thought-off to apply Choke, but was no luck. Then I tried to alter RPM knob, somehow it worked and got started. I don't know exactly, what may be the reason ? Will hope not to face this again
2. From yesterday, some weird sound like: srrrrr srrrrr srrrr srrrrr...... and I felt that engine is taking much more load than usual, without pillion. Thought-off to check with tyre-pressure, so have filled Shell Petrol and have pumped up the tyres with appropriate pressure. From yesterday the same sound is persisting still.Last edited by Sumit2112; 04-11-2017, 07:54 PM.

The stock setup seems to be perfect for city and twisties

I have clocked close to 2k kms with the masseter tyre.
And what a great tyre it is.
Did a long ride of 680kms and had a great time. This tyre is way way better than the stock tyre.
The tyre gives you more confidence during leans, braking.
Rtr has the perfect suspension setup for cornering and Masseter makes the cornering experience more fun.
Regarding removal of tyre hugger-I haven't done that.the tyre doesn't touch the tyre hugger.
Even i saw the hyd biker's video on YouTube and was amazed with his reason to remove the tyre hugger ..
Yes the masseter is a bigger tyre when compared to the stock tyre..But rtr is able to handle it without any fuss.
Slight performance drop is there.
But nothing to cry about.
I am fully happy with my decision to fix the masseter tyre.
Need some more answers do let me know.
Ride safe.
Enjoy. You guys have hit it right on the head when it comes to tire selection. The Remora that is offered in the TVS is not bad for cornering, but the Pirelli's just give you unmatched confidence, you can clearly feel what's going on underneath the road, the traction. The Masseter being a rounder profile, would superbly complement the handling prowess of the RTR 200. The bike just leans and leans, you never know you're leaning so much, unless someone really takes a picture of you leaning on this bike. I've personally loved riding this bike hitting the redline on every single gear. With experiences from the Michelins, to Metz to Pirelli to Revz to Zappers, I'd say the next cheapest option after a good European brand would be the Masetter. Just a camaraderie suggestion, try your best not to upsize the rear tire, this would mean extra time leaning, thinner the tire easier to lean. 130 section of the TVS complements it perfectly. Though 140 would teen tiny bit bring the performance down, but the straightline stability should definitely come in handy with a wider rear.Originally posted by tanishq View PostImo zapper fy1 for the front & perelli sport demon at the back will be ideal choice... Why up size the tyers & face performance drop when stock sizes are available....
Go for it.
Cheers!

The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Hi folks,
I got my RTR 200 Matte Black delivered last Saturday and I just love it. However, I have two concerns,
- The bike doesn't startup on mornings / after > 4 hrs of operation without using Choke. Is this normal?
- The bike has a not so loud squeaky noise on the rear-side when riding slow (1 & 2 gear), I am not able to find out where is the noise coming from. Is that bad? Any advice on how to get this noise fixed?
Thanks in Advance!

The same are the observations I have felt today; So planning to go ASC tomorow to get clarified what exactly the issue is.Originally posted by kgdinesh View PostHi folks,

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Guys, my bike has clocked 2200 kms and second service is done.
Sometimes, the bike gets shut off when I press the clutch lever. Ideally this should not happen when the engine is adequately warm.
Also, there is noise from the tappets just after 5 km of run.
Any suggestions?
P.S.: Idle rpm is 1500 when engine is hot.

1. You won't need to engage the choke after completing 500 kms on the Odo.
2. The periodic squeaky sound is coming from the rear disc. Get it cleaned and pressure washed.
Thanks,
