Coming to the Remoras, I can say that they are miles ahead of the Eurogrips. I haven't ridden any bikes with better tyres (my experience with different bikes/tyres is very limited). I haven't been in rain with my bike but on wet roads (immediately after a rain) the grip is definitely adequate. I've locked my rear wheel a few times but it was when I was experimenting with my rear brake. Other than that, I've never had and wheel-locks or skids. The front has never skidded. But also I never brake hard; I've pulled the front brake to its maximum extext (aka panic braking) only 2 times in 3 months with my bike. In both cases, the bike immediately came down from 50ish speeds to 20s without throwing any tantrums.

Ive experienced snake like slithering on my Apache with Remoras. I blame myself for sudden acceleration which caused the slip.Originally posted by ayrus View PostHe has never taken his bike to the track. All he learnt is by munching miles.

But since after the fall the bike just doesnt feel like before. I could go into corners at 65 plus but now it feels too risky. I have checked the rear wheel to see if its lost alignment, didnt have any observations.
I am taking the bike to service center this weekend but I am not sure if they will be able to help much.
Remoras are way better than most stock tyres in the market, when comparing in the same budget range.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
1. Is Saree guard Footrest available for this variant. If not, is it possible to make minor changes in the existing guard as I want it in any case. Anyone knows where can I get it in Pune.Originally posted by A.R View PostNeed some help with queries.
-Don't know for sure, but you can try at any bike accessory shop.
2. What kind of care need to be taken to keep the bike shining.
-Daily dusting, weekly washes and maybe monthly waxing (although most of the bike's panels are plastic so you may need some vinyl polish kind of thing.
3. I face cold start issue in the morning. Is it normal and is it ok to use choke. Sometimes I face issue to stalling/low rpm issue while starting the bike after 9-10 hrs.
- this is completely normal. My bike has done around 300 kms and I need to run the starter almost 3-4 times for the bike to start. And even after it starts I need to keep the throttle slightly open to make sure that the idle stays idle.
I suggest that you start the bike and let it idle for a minute. you can go about doing your normal routine like dusting, wearing your helmet gloves etc and performing other checks on the bike.
By the time you are done, the idle would have settled down and you will not face the stalling issue at low rpms.
Plus its better for your bike since the oil is slightly warmed up.
4. Will the bike performance be affected if I soften the rear suspension by 1-2 step?
Grip levels would be better with harder settings, but again we are not racing on the track everyday! Go ahead and change the setting.
5. Did someone faced gear shifting issue in slow speed.
yes, I am facing this problem. But I am also seeing an improvement as the bike is racking up the miles.
New gears will grind over time and get more smoother.
I take each gear (except 1st) upto 5000 rpm and then upshift. I am expecting the gearbox to settle down only after 1000 - 1500 kms.

Thank you!!Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostI see you chose ABS version.
Good choice and congrats [emoji106][emoji4]
Depending on the conditions - a dusty or humid environment requires cleaning and lubing every 500-600 kms or when the chain looks drier than it should be.
Make sure you change oil at regular intervals irrespective of the kms clocked(in your case its less hence the gyaan). If you ride less then every 6 months or so get the oil changed. Even when kept inside the whole assembly, the oil is prone to breaking.
Well the chain is still not dry, will wait for few more kms.
I am looking for side bag (Single), which requires fitting and with lock system. Any suggestions?
Also, i am planning to replace the current head lamps with LED, how feasible will that be?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Keeping it Plain Jane:Originally posted by demon_speeding View Postguys i was planning a ns200 or a apache 200.
i like the looks of ns but reliabilty, smoothness and dual channel abs is tilting me towards apache.
please guide me on abovementioned points.
NS 200.
Liquid Cooled,
Stress Free Engine
Comes with a Single Channel ABS
Reliable
Cheap spares, can be even bought at roadside shops
Nice handling machine with a perimeter frame
Bajaj's galaxy like service center framework
Apache 200
Excellent handling machine.
Power wise, nothing great. Smoother than older gen Apaches
Both have the same fuel tank
Looks decent, but still NS 200 hasn't lost its charm
Not smoother than NS 200. NS 200 is comparatively smoother.
Decent service backup and spares downtime.
Both have little to no resale value.
Both are carburetted for the most part though an FI can be opted in the Apache with a little premium.
Result: It's a tie. But with a competitive pricing, liquid cooled motor and a better perimeter chassis, personally I'd suggest NS 200
Cheers!

I'd disagree with this point though all others are spot on.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostApache 200 Not smoother than NS 200. NS 200 is comparatively smoother.
In 200 cc bikes, in terms of refinement
Apache 200>NS 200>Duke 200

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
One more thing, apart from what was stated above. The Apache 200 has 5 gears spaced apart while the NS 200 has closely packed 6 gears. Both bikes do 100 kmph at 7k rpm. The Apache 200 runs out of power post this point while the NS 200 will pull easily till 120-130 kmph. The Apache 200 is more suited for cities with lesser gearshifts while the NS 200 is better in highways with a better top-end.Originally posted by demon_speeding View Postguys i was planning a ns200 or a apache 200.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Indeed. When it comes to high sprint riding, the NS 200 fares better with respect to vibes containment, the 2018 models do a fair job in that. The Apache does buzz after 6.5k which is quite normal for any air/oil cooled engine, and not to mention after a spirited ride, it does get vibey. My experience at certain RPM aspects, they both share their own unique highs and lows. As a package I'd say both are a tie with Apache having a slight edge, but nothing out of the ordinary.Originally posted by ayrus View PostI'd disagree with this point though all others are spot on.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I did a top speed of 128kmph when the bike had clocked 770kms on odo post my first service and I constantly rode at 80 to 90 kmph for around 5 to 10 minutes on highway. Will it cause any problem? But for the first 650 kms I never exceeded 55 kmph with a very rare ride at 65 to 70 kmph.

We pit the new Bajaj Pulsar NS200 against the TVS RTR 200, to find out which one is the better all-rounder.
Hope will be useful .
Simple choice
✓Apache 200 : Better mileage , FI variant can be bought.
(costlier though)
✓Pulsar NS 200 : Cheaper and better performance .
Choose wisely ,
Ride safe.
