The gixxer which i test rode a month earlier had some electrical manipulations done to it because of which the electrical console and the self starter was not working ,this is to avoid the odometer from increment. all these things really pissed me off and i lost faith in showrooms and i advice the buyers to do a very close inspection of the bike before purchase. Another Apache 200 which i test rode a few days back was throttled so insanely in front of me that i was about to shout at the technician , since i dint have the plan to purchase the bike from that showroom as the quoted price was high there, i kept my mouth shut took the test drive and walked away quietly.
I learned one more thing that our Apache 200 has a strange bug which allows the odo and the high speed recorded and all the other records to reset entirely please be careful buyers.
anyways the bike is insanely powerful , console is a piece of cake, extremely hot looking, and a VFM package, people planning for a 150cc segment should once think of this one if mileage is not a constraint. the base variant is definitely a bang for the buck. issues with the bike are yet to be found, cant comment about the reliability but the built quality seems great. lets see how it does in the long run. hoping for the best.
Hornet was my first choice but i dropped it because of the unreasonable high price, lack of quality switch gear, same old console, inadequate headlight throw, poor paint and weld job on chassis.
Gixxer sf was dropped from the list because it looked a bit small for my height and the pillion comfort was not adequate.
Bajaj was not in my list because neither i had the patience nor the time to take care of the niggles which i came to know from the ownership thread.
duke was not in my budget.
Things that were absent in other with same price segment
        1) kyb suspension
        2)DRL's (looks beautiful)
3)oilcooled engine with RAM air assist
        4) Quality switchgear
        5)Unmatched exhaust note
6)Instantaneous throttle response, there is always a bit of delay in any other bike of same segment.
        7)Immensively narrative Console(looks very cool)
        con:
The exhaust should have been a stubby one like in fz v1 or hornet since it doesnt gel up well with the looks of the bike, but once you hear the exhaust note i ensure you , you will have no problem by the looks of it. same with the headlight it looks too wide but once you turn the ignition on then you will notice the DRL's running at the corners and you will feel that the extra width is indeed better.

Thank you Xbhp for helping a noob like me to understand and make a wise decision. thanks all the members. will keep posting inshallah.

First of all, a suggestion, dont get so hyped up because of the new bike. I have been noticing your replies and it looks like you are all ga-ga over the new bike. its just a bike, dont get so much excited, you will understand this statement later on in your life.

What the showroom is saying is correct. You dont get the RC/ Number on the spot, its a procedure that one needs to follow, its not ready to eat thing. Secondly, did you notice that 15th August is extended weekend and all the rtos and government bodies will be on holiday that time.
The temp number is the legal way of doing things and almost all the cars/bikes go through it.

I presume this is your first bike, so again dont just kill the bike or yourself (sorry I have to be blunt) but this has to be said.

PS : Paying full money doesnt give you any special powers

                      .
My suggestion, if everything woks fine then no need to visit ASC. they would simply say something or they just dont pay much attention.
BTW, if you dont keep the tyre hugger, will the water splash too much during rain ? since it already has a small tail integrated guard, i got this doubt.

Yellow colour is reserved for the fi variant thats what I heard from a dealer. When you see yellow rtr200 that means fi is out

Better to take after completing the registration. Wait for few more days get it done.
In chennai, cops would catch you if you dont have number on the plate.

The only colours I have seen in the showrooms are Matte (red, grey) alongwith the White and Black.

Its good to be excited but don't get all hyper about it. All your posts are only reflecting the latter one.

yes I am thinking the same regarding the ASC .

regarding the tyre hugger, I rode once in rain at average city speed and pillion's back and white body near grab rail was sprayed . not sure if that number plate guard alone would protect from splash.
Other rain rides have been from office to home in peak traffic (not above 30KM/h in any case ) and haven't notice any splash on bike or my bag .

in few words not very effective( but hugger looks big one to overcome the issue )

                                EDIT:-
                                Update regarding FE

full tank at 716 and 1150 KMs , second fill was of 11.61 litters
434 KM ridden in 11.61 litters(approx 250 KMs are highway ride, rest in heavy traffic)
                                FE :- 37.38 KM/L

                                Good Day !!
