  • Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V

    Hi guys,

Did anybody have the information as when the ABS version is releasing?. Initially it has been told that they will do it by dec 2016 but till now there has not been any news from them. Also how is the braking quality in normal version? I am thinking to take non-ABS version if I need to wait long.

I am currently owning Apache 150 (first model) and know its hard braking capabilities

There is no news from TVS about ABS launch. It may get delayed more also or they may just don't release also...😠😠

About the braking, it's superb, I really like the stopping power of both the brake. It's far better than gixxer for sure.

        They have seen once only.....

ABS as a feature is now out of new Apache 200 print ADs. So it's very unclear if the same is going to be in production. As for the current brakes they are very good, especially the front has a very good bite.
Though it would have helped if TVS would have worked upon the previous promise of ABS as no one can question it's usefulness in real life.

Around riding after 1 km bike suddenly stalled, and refused to crank again! No petrol issues. Took it to nearest garage. Some valve in engine was jammed this is what I could make it out of his language.
            Taking it to TVS ASS.

Check out the engine oil level. And let us know the issue if any.

No issue with display. Some valve in engine. Mech removed the spark plug and put some oil. He said it's very rarely happens: ( if this occurs again. Open the full throttle and the try to crank the engine!

Valve problem means oil not passing to all corners. Please keep a tab on oil level. Service center guys will not tell you if its their fault.

Do anybody know the lifespan of the Brake pads for the bike. I am having problems with the rear brake. I am not able to stop with the rear brake. Its like i am getting only about 10-20% power to stop the bike whereas front has no problems. I have completed 7700 kms till now. So has the brake pads gone bad. I have checked the brake oil, its proper.

Our city traffic is pretty much responsible for making our breakpads bad.. we mostly use breaks in every 10to15m in city traffic Imo 7700km is decent intravel for a breakpads change.

One way to check if you have adequate brake pad life left is to remove the brake pads, and inspect the grooves or a line on the brake pads (these are wear markers) if it's pronounced and visible, then you have some pad material left. If that line is almost as flat as the pad itself, then yes you do need a pad replacement. If you can post some pics, I can help you out, if you require a pad change or not. But check your manual on pad replacement, or how to check if a pad is worn, you'll get the idea. We can then get into the bleeding part later once the pad is checked.

                            Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                            THE END

Will check the manuals and see if I find any help to check. Also by next week will be going to 4th servicing so will wait till that to check if I need to remove the pads. Thanks..

Has anybody installed any hooks on their 200 4v? The ones which can be used to hang a bag by the side or for any such purpose. I am a prospective buyer, but this happens to be my linchpin of my buying decision as I need a bike which can thrill me on the track and help me bring my groceries on the way home.
