Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
I can totally relate to the impatience!Originally posted by kgdinesh View PostGuys,
Does completing 350KM count as run in period for this bike or should I do the full 1000KM?
I can't wait to throttle above 60 and push this beast to its limit 😈
You can still do those quick bursts of 70-80 and the rare occasional 90, provided you don't hold on to those speeds /RPMs. Its all about cycling through the rev band without redlining it, during the run in. RTR engines are extremely robust and can take a lot of punishment, so no point babying it too much also.
I just completed 1000kms on mine, of which the last 140kms were on a national highway where I pretty much kept modulating between 90-110kmph all along, with 3-4 short breaks to allow the engine a quick breather. I think 100-105kmph is the sweet spot for highway cruising on the bike and it can do those speeds all day long.
Above 110kmph, I noticed an extremely light buzz on the handlebars but the engine did not feel overstressed at all. I think even this should disappear once a better engine oil like the Motul 7100 is used. I personally don't trust the TVS FS oil much and will shift to Motul after the completing about 3000kms. Did the same on my old Fz and it worked like a charm!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Hello Friends,
Yesterday I found an empty road, So I drove my bike to its full.
But after going above 138kmph, the handle bar started wobbling & it was changing directions from left to right & vice-versa(due to wobbling). It was a hell of scary &
Didn't have any potholes on that road too!
So Is it because I was crouched while driving on high-speed So the handle bar became lighter or any other reason?
Also checked the weights on the front rims they were intact & tyre pressure & bolts were also perfect.
Don't know the reason. so need your help.
Thanks in advance.

Bro, No wind at that time.
I too have clocked 141 but never faced this.
Its for the 1st time happend with me.
I thought it might be due to tyre pressure but no.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
The wobble you face is called a "speed wobble" happens on any vehicle with a single steering pivot. Any motorcycle with any engine capacity, be it a bicycle or a motorcycle can experience this wobble. It's caused due to a lot of factors the amount of weight at the front, rim/wheel damage misalignment, wheel landing disproportionately after the front wheel is the air or a light front end can all cause speed wobbles. It's also called a tank slapper, which makes the handlebar go left right, left right, violently. It's scary and it can throw the rider off the bike, if it's strong enough and toss the motorcycle like a coin and what not.Originally posted by Tirth shukla View Post

Check out this video, it will give you insight into what's a tank slapper. When one faces tank slapper, relax your grip on bars and reduce speed the moment the bike starts to wobble. If one ignores and keeps revving, and if the slapper momentum catches up, god be with you.
There are even crazier tank slappers where bikes have been thrown to pieces and the rider thrown so bad, he probably lands directly on a hospital bed.
But just so you get the point...
You replaced the ignition coil? If yes, can you please elaborate under what circumstances or what problems were faced with the bike.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

No. Yesterday the SVC mechanic told me that it may be faulty so I got it checked. It was okay and today the mechanic called me saying that my bike is okay. There were some loose connections that caused the trouble. Yesterday when he was checking, saw that there was no current coming out of the ignition coil so he thought that may be its damaged. I am going to take back my bike tomorrow.
