Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Hi Guys,
I just got my bike from first service and while parking my vehicle I noticed a gray tube hanging out, it seems to be coming out from top rear end of the engine.
Can someone tell me what this tube is used for? Is it normal?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
It is the tube that tells the PAIR valve when to supply air (oxygen) to exhaust gases - promotes further combustion of CO, etc. I think it works on the principle of vacuum (during suction stroke). It has to be connected as shown - the golden thingy is the PAIR valve. Must have dislodged while pressure washing the bike.Originally posted by kgdinesh View PostHi Guys, I just got my bike from first service and while parking my vehicle I noticed a gray tube hanging out, it seems to be coming out from top rear end of the engine. Go ahead and do it yourself. If you take it to the SVC, they might connect it somewhere else.Originally posted by kgdinesh View PostThanks for the info dude, will connect it to the valve as you pointed out.

Just make sure you push the rubber tube till it hits the L-end of the golden tube and position the clip correctly.

So I had to stop the bike and then put it to reserve(although it have almost 3-4 litres of fuel). But the bike didn't start and I had to push it to home. Fuel is not the issue, and the local mechanic told me that it may have had a short circuit in the electrical circuitry(CDI or something he named it). Now what should I do? Also he told me that I will not be getting any warranty as it is a defective electrical device and it will cost around 4000-5000 rsAs much as you are disheartened, do not let the service center folks know that your bike was handled by a local mechanic, the service center folks would just let you off the hook as this is the right opportunity and enough reason for them to not entertain replacement/warranty, stating your bike was handled by a third party during the service period. So, just take the bike to the showroom, tell them you have the problem and ask for a solution. Usually a polite attitude goes a long way, but if they start showing you the end of the stick, it's time to bite it hard.Originally posted by sgsubhayan View PostBut the local mechanic showed me that there is no spark at the spark plug. He said may be it is a problem of power cable.. And my SVC is 50 kms away. Today it is closed so could not make a call.
Just check this video if this anyway relates to you...
If you're not happy definitely consider sending a mail and calling TVS customer care.

I have exactly the same squeaky sound on my RTR too when rolling the bike at low speed or manually rotating the rear wheel. Still can't figure out what is causing this.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View Post

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
ALI.R going through the comments from the video, it seems the user did solve the problem by replacing the rear wheel bearings. Now, these sounds can indicate just normal brake dust accumulation inside the caliper piston or the brake pad themselves. Remove those pads give them a good compressed air clean, and observe if the sound repeats Ali. If we have no sound, then a job well done. If not, then we can look at disc warpage or something..
Cheers!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Thanks bro. Today the SVC person arranged chek up of my bike in another Sub dealer centre and the problem found is on the ST coil. Its shorted somehow and needs to be replaced. But that sub dealer did not have the exact coil of rtr 200 and they told me to get it replaced from the dealership. I will visit the dealership tomorrow.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostAs much as you are disheartened, do not let the service center folks know that your bike was handled by a local mechanic, the service center folks would just let you off the hook as this is the right opportunity and enough reason for them to not entertain replacement/warranty, stating your bike was handled by a third party during the service period. And I've got the same problem.. I heard it while I was pushing my bike towards the Sub dealer centre. May be this is happening due to dirt accumulation.Originally posted by ALI.R View PostI have exactly the same squeaky sound on my RTR too when rolling the bike at low speed or manually rotating the rear wheel. Wait, did you say you first checked at a local mechanic?Originally posted by sgsubhayan View PostThanks bro. I neglected that bit. Please always approach the SVC first rather than the local mechanic if the bike is under warranty. Once the guys at Honda suspiciously asked me about the bolts on my bike. Apparently I hadnt tightened the seat bolts properly after checking my battery voltage, and that made the Mechanic doubt that I had the bike opened up at a local garage.
