Even TVS should come up with idea as like in bajaj models. Pulsar series has an indicator for the Side stand, as like that.
Yes, a side stand indicator would be a welcome addition to what is already a great bike!!

Hello Guys,

10700 on the ODO and i have a broken front suspension oil seal. I know that my bike has gone through some terrible roads, so no regrets. Question is, its almost 1K left for 5th service, is it advisable to keep running with broken oil seal for another 1K or should i consider early service.

If the leak is on the left side, the oil can flow down to the disc and calipers. That would be scary.

Its better to change the fork seals as early as possible.

Not only the oil works as suspension component, it also acts as a lubricant inside the fork, so more the oil goes out, less lubing thus more wear and tear on the springs, rods etc..

[emoji106]
Cheers.

Better get the work done. As this will hamper your front balancing. And normal what I have seen is one problem gives way to another.
So don't wait ....

1. Having used Euroslips for 20k kms earlier, I can easily say that Remora's are much better. The problem is that half of the roads in Pune are glazed and Remora's give up easily under braking/cornering. Also, I like cornering and Remora's fail to inspire the confidence on road.
2. Dealer told that the front suspension will get affected if I use FY1 tyre, because of the reduce sidewall height.
3. Regarding the upsize, I was in doubt that the wider tyre will rub against the inner mud guard. But someone already has put 140 section Masseter and it looks fine. Also, Masseter has rounder profile compared to revz, which can attribute to easy fitting.

[B @Shashank K R , This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks

@ALI.R @JS16 @Shashank K R
I still have few doubts.
1. Is FY1 + Masseter combo good for my RTR? FY1 is a radial tyre while Masseter is not. Will this cause any problem at high speed runs/ cornering/ bad roads etc?
2. Will 140 section touch with the tyre hugger, especially with pillion onboard? Anyone having a personal experience on this?
3. Will the grip level be in vicinity of the Pirelli combo?

Thanks in Advance
NS
@ALI.R @JS16 @Shashank K R
Thanks for your help on buying the tyres.
Got a pair of MRF FY1 and Masseter, and this is one of the best combination RTR can have. The grip is leaps and bounds better than Remora's. I think that why TVS is even using Remora tyres for this fantastic bike? RTR can easily fit 140/70 rear section tyre, but 150 section is impossible.

Cost: 1250 for FY1, 3770 for rear Masseter.

Pros:
1. Excellent grip and telepathic handling. Lowered front due to 90/80 section tyre allows to put more weight on front, resulting in better handling.
2. Very good feedback during braking and one can easily prevent wheel locks. Panic braking can be done easily.
3. Both tyres are ideal for cornering.(Lavasa, here I come )
4. Increased stability.

Cons:
1. The rear tyre(140/70) is slightly higher than stock 130/70. Due to increase in height, it's not easy to climb the pillion seat. Already, RTR's seat is perched.
2. Front FY1 tyre(90/80) is lower than the stock tyre(90/90) and hence more pressure on shoulder. Not very ideal if you ride the bad roads frequently.
3. The sitting posture is now front biased and may cause slight back ache. This tyre setup may not be ideal for touring.

I'd recommend to ditch the stock Remora's and go for a better tyre combination. Trust, your money won't be wasted.

Warm Regards,
NS

Congratulations on new footwear for your RTR200!

Massetters are becoming quite popular I note and getting really good reviews. Looks like we finally have competitive VFM alternative to the Michelin PSR 140/70!

Happy mile munching!

Hi JS16, I am happy with both 130 or 140 section as long as the tyre compound is good. I prefer to keep my bike nearly stock and not really fan of huge looking tyres.
Also, IMHO there should be no impact on the fork seal. I have driven around medium sized potholes and I cannot differentiate much in the suspension behavior.

ALI.R, It's good to see that MRF is working towards right direction. There is a huge lineup of tyres from this manufacturer and one can easily get the tyre of choice.
Pilot Street may be a superior tyre on wet roads, but for rest Masseter's performance is in the vicinity of PSR.
Considering the price difference of nearly 1500 between PSR and Masseter's, the latter appears a VFM to me.

This maybe due to some fault with the cam shaft. Happened to my other bike after 18K Km and its very annoying to hear the sound. It increases day by day, finally got it replaced under warranty coverage and now everything is fine.

I will share my experience in details.

On June 6th afternoon I had posted an ad on Olx and sold my Unicorn Dazzler in half a day.
I wanted to buy a White RTR and I went to the showroom (Ashwa TVS Bangalore) with my family on Tuesday.
There were 3 White RTR 200, I did a brief inspection and selected the bike. Noted down the Engine, Frame numbers and I booked it.
(Apache RTR 200, Carburetor, TVS tyres.)

Paid full amount INR 1,09,875/- on Wednesday. Delivery date was Thursday and I was all excited. The excitement wasn't too much though, as I was sad that I had to sell my 5 year old love.

Fast forward to Thursday, I am at office, checking the time every now and then. It was 4:30 PM, took permission from office and ran to the showroom.
I reached the showroom and my bike was not ready yet. They took the bike to basement and started the procedure.
They mishandled slightly but that's expected everywhere. They cleaned the bike, applied teflon coating, filled 1 liter fuel in front of me, connected the battery, switched on the bike and checked all the electricals, filled the air properly and handed over the keys to me.
I had done the PDI and i was ready to roll. I sat on the bike, switched on the engine and I had a wide grin on my face. My wife was laughing at me, after seeing me act like a kid :P
This bike received lot of stares
I took the vehicle to the temple and finished the pooja yesterday.
Then, went to petrol bunk and filled up to the brim of the tank. It took 12.2 liters.
So totally 13 liters.

Strange things observed:
1. The front wheel of the bike had weight added for wheel/weight balancing.
2. The odo meter showed 4.5 kms and the top speed showed 84kmph. I questioned the sales guy and they told the bike would be tested on a belt. He also told some vehicles would have 100 or 100+.
3. The carburetor version doesn't get the USB mobile charger under the seat. It is available only for FI variant. (Cross checked with other carb bikes and it didn't have it)
4. The biggest BLUNDER I observed was, the software for the digital console has a bug. I was able to reset the entire console. THE ODO METER GOT RESET, SO DID TOP SPEED RECORDER AND EVERYTHING ELSE.

Good things:
1. This bike being a carburetor, has the TripF - reserve trip meter. which is nice
2. The sound is amaaaaazing
3. The quality of the bike is top notch. In love with TVS.
4. Throttle response is crisp and perfect.
5. Gears are very smooth. Didn't expect this from a new bike.
5. Seat comfort, riding posture are fine so far.
6. Rear view mirrors are good, horn is perfect, headlights are awesome.
7. No vibrations felt. No rattling sounds.
8. Bike doesn't feel heavy. It is very easy to handle. Its ergonomics are perfect for me. I'm 5.8 Ft tall.

I am totally in love with this bike. I will share more details soon.

Quality photos will be posted soon. For time being I will share an taken from my phone.
This is my father. He is 60 years old and still love bikes. He is totally impressed with this bike.

Congratulations buddy !!

I had few questions:
1) How is the riding posture ? Slightly fwd like Pulsar 220 ? Or upright like Gixxer 155 ?
2) How is the cluth ? Light or tight ? My P-220 is very tight and difficult to operate in traffic. Looking for a light cluth bike next.
3) How are the Rear Shockers ? Damping is good ?
4) How much is the maintenance cost ( svcng etc ) ? Any major/teething problems ?
5) Does the dust on chain causes problem like vibrations, hard gear shifts etc ? Is the chain O-ring type on Apache 200 ? I ask this because on P-220 2 days after svc the gear shifts become hard and bike becomes less smooth. Svc people say that's due to the chain.
6) Are the electricals DC like pulsars ? I ask this because on other bikes the light intensity becomes low when throttle is less like in older Apache 180.

I requested a test drive by putting query on TVS website and requested for sending the query to Avian TVS Vadodara.
They give very stupid replies like we don't give test ride as we don't have test vehicle. They had a showroom piece and they took it out for test ride. We went for 50 mts may be and the showroom guy asked me to turn the bike back ( What the .... ) I thought may be because fuel is less and bike is jerking he is asking to turn it back.

On further enquiry they told that if you book the bike we give test ride ( but we take test rides before booking the bike plus now what happened to unregistered bike offered for TD !!!! ). Finally they told they had an incident some time back when a customer met with accident and did not pay up and even was not carrying the license. So they stopped al together the TD ( bunch of crap ).

I also called up customer care from outside the showroom to ask what is this and he gave me the phone number of person responsible to manage this area and he did not pick the call.

I am thinking to mail TVS customer care complaining about these guys.

P.S. DO NOT quote the entire picture set. Remove all pics before quoting.
