I already posted on this thread. Page 208. Hope that helps.

Unfortunately I can't post clamp photos on the FZ as I sold it off before I bought the RTR

One hour later they call me and tell me that I will have to wait until new speedometer, gear and fuel senors arrives so that they can replace them and check what's faulty. This is so unreasonable and tvs spares takes decades to get orders placed and to be delivered at the service center in my location. Also none of the indicator lights for high beam and all on the speedometer is also not working.

          So much disappointed
I finally got the speedometer replaced under warranty and gladly everything was fixed. Anyway now I have started from 0kms again and I have to remind myself of the service timings.

And one thing that really annoys me about this motorcycle is the extremely loud chain, lubes it every week and it still sounds so loud that the sound of chain can be heard over the exhaust noise. Whenever I tell the service center guys about this, they says it's the same with every rtr's. Is it true?

Make sure ur chain slack is not too tight or too loose.. in both the cases you will hear loud chain noises & yes chain noises are there but not that much.

              Update on squeaky funny noise:

So finally I got the irritating squeaking fixed permanently thanks to the friendly neighbourhood mechanic. He unbolted and removed the rod which connects to swingarm to the chassis, then greased it generously and put it back in. And behold! All funny noises have now disappeared. Rode around for a few kilometres and it has not returned. So hopefully that has been sorted for good.

A procedure so simple and yet the SVC mechanics couldn't be bothered to do it. Such a fantastic motorcycle being held back by general servicing. 😑😑

And i don't know how tvs ranks 1st in customer satisfaction, does it mean other brand svcs are even worse

Beautiful, ALI; that is the swingarm pivot bolt, yes that should be greased. See, just a local mechanic can do wonders just as I mentioned to your post a while back.

                  Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                  The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                  THE END

Yes. Thank you for the help!

When that bolt was first taken out, it was absolutely bone dry. No wonder it was making such noises. Only the SVC mechanics know what they sprayed the other day to 'try' solving the issue.

Hey all. I test rode the 200 today and it gave me the same feeling of being connected that i experienced the first time i ever rode my RTR 160 . I test rode both Fz 250 and the RTR back to back and understood what they meant by the Fz being a gentlemen's bike. RTR is more involving with a bit more feedback in nearly all departments, but it was a way too short a test ride to be able to understand its full potential. I have crossed the 250 off of my list and now have to decide between the RTR 180 ABS and 200. I am ok with the vibes which the smaller RTR's give out(I fall in the small category of people who actually like it except during long rides as it gives the feel of raw power). I know most of you will tell me outright the 200 since its newer and better in all aspects, but my 160 fits me like a glove and thats why i am considering the 180 along with the 200 and not because of the ABS alone. Is there wayy more fun, chuckability, grunt etc. compared to the 180?. Any and all opinions will help especially from previous 180 owners who upgraded to the 200.

P.S: A question To anyone from Kochi who owns an RTR: Are the SVCs good enough there to be able to peacefully own an Apache, since Apaches are a rarity in Kerala and I wonder if there are local garages that works well with RTR's.

Going with the bigger cc bikes is always preferable coz u Never know when u gonna need that extra chunk of power wether its city or highway & u can Cruz easily with rtr200 on highways & this bike is more connected to rider. Handling is the one of best in 200cc category. So i would say go for the rtr200 its simply bang for ur buck.

                          Hey!
I own both. I will not compare both. They are both very different animals. The 200 is exactly what 180 isn't and 180 is what 200 isn't. The 180 is more aggressive though!

Again, i love both so much I bought both of them! My RR310-S is coming in June as indicated.

                            Guys,

Does anyone know how to turn off the service indicator?

I got my first service done at 350kms and when I hit 500km yesterday I got the icon.

                            Please advise.

                              Hi kgdinesh,

Please follow the youtube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdS1IG2fzVA .
You will need to press the mode button till you select high speed mode on console, and then hold the mode+select button till the service reminder icon disappears.

                              Thanks,

I checked with the svc guys and they simply say it's the chain sound but it isn't and I am very sure of it . I have asked them to check but they seem to pay not much attention to it. The sound is very much audible when moving slow or I can say decelerating, I can even sense some vibrations near the legs. The sound becomes in audible if I accelerate or may be it is subdued by the exhaust sound of the bike but no vibration while acceleration. Can you guys help, not really sure of to even describe that sound. Guys if you know the root cause for this problem or much better a solution for it please post in your comments.
Hey guys got the problem fixed now and the vehicle is smooth as ever. So basically it was the front sprocket bearing causing this sound. Now it's lubed in properly and the sound has disappeared. Seems to be just a minor thing to rectify but the SVC guys were just ignoring it for quite some time, after a formal mail to TVS customer care the issue was addressed immediately within a day.
Another news to share guys. The SVC person who solved this also informed me that the front sprocket will be replaced for all the customers having the problem of chain tightening and eventually the loud chain sound emanating. He said this replacement will also be under warranty and will be done in a month from now. Guys if you are also facing the chain problem get it checked from the nearest SVC and go for the replacement.
