Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
congratulations... white looks good but ues red would have been stunning.Originally posted by CosmicSpeed View PostTook home this beauty Last week

I had booked Red color withe Pirelli in March but did not get any info from dealer.
I went last week's Wednesday to take my booking amount back to buy another bike and they were ready to return the booking amount.
just out of curiosity I asked them if they can give me the display bike in white with TVS Tyre they have inside and the sales person agreed
.
So it happened, and I think I am loving the white color

I have few questions from other RTR 200 owners and other riders, Please help.
- Did you guys change the engine oil at delivery? In Owner manual it has been written to use TVS fully synthetic Oil and I have heard at this forum and others that during engine breaking we should use mineral oil.
- RAM air assist tube, why its only on right side ? Though the vent is on both side .I asked during delivery and they told its from factory setting, we are not getting tube for both side. I hope I will post the pic of tube that blow air from vent to engine head.
- I know that my bike was display one, but it has 0 KM on ODO. I checked the tires , engine and other parts and they seemed very new, no use mark at all, though foot pegs were dirty(I guess it was because of people who were coming to see and putting their legs on that ).
what KM reading your bike had and is it normal to have 0 KM on ODO. - I am new to bike, my bike stall at 2nd most of the time, even my friends who ride P180 and Gixxer felt the same. Is it because of its new or it has different characteristic or we need to rev little bit more than other bike?
- more question coming through

My first post on this forum, excuse for any mistake and please suggest for improvement( I have read the FAQ
)
Okay, I am little jealous of guy who got the red one
.
Cheers .
you mentioned abt stalling of the bike...
it happened with me too more than 10 times... i also rode it for 60 kms... speed varied between 35 - 50 km/hr engine sound, crusing, ergonomics everything was topclass but bike stalling was surprising😯Vmax

Do you use choke to start bike in morning or say after 5-6 hours of engine off ?
In owner booklet it is suggested to use choke every time starting the cold engine.
I thought of starting without choke once and it did not start, though my 11 years old activa starts some time without choke
.
Is it okay to start with choke every morning .Last edited by CosmicSpeed; 06-29-2016, 11:38 PM.Do Rev your heart in out or on treadmill After revving you bike's engine.A free flowing and high revving heart will give more happy miles too :)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Starting with choke is not bad at all when you start for the first time, infact the FI unit will do the same process similar to choke. Normally some bikes if used everyday then mostly it will start without choke, but if given a break for a week then choke is definitely needed, which is the case in my bike. But if your bike starts without choke even in cold condition then your are lucky to get one.Originally posted by CosmicSpeed View PostThank you

1.no need to change engine oil at the time if delivery. Engine oil should be changed during first service.
2. AFAIK Ram air induction is provided only for the spark plug head, hence tube is only on one side. Check out my previous posts to find a pic of the same.
3. It could be that the odometer was reset by the showroom guys.
The digital console has a wicked option to clear the odometer and other meters once. Only once. So maybe your digital console was cleared before delivery.
Besides, since tyres and other stuff were fine don't worry.
4. This can be due to two things.
Either it's because we aren't used to the clutch action of thos bike. (I faced this problem)
Or the engine wasn't warm enough, I.e idle rpm might be less than one.
Ride safe.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Well me thinks good looking tyre huggers wont serve the purpose
...anyway it would have been better if the tyre hugger was attached to swing arm on one side (like Pulsar 200 NS) so that chain and sprocket cleaning could be done easily.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
the bike starts without any issues but while riding it stops with a crank and then u have to bring the bike to standstill (Neutral) and then press the ignition switch... it starts but again few mins it stops.Originally posted by roamer View PostHow serious is this stalling issue? Is it only at cold start or happens even after considerable riding?
fuel switch checked its ON
spark plug is in place..
fuel tank is 60% full
can't think of anything else...Vmax

Relax, you need to get habituated to it. Happens with me as. Let the bike complete the first service mate. Its not an issue. Engine is very new.Originally posted by vikimax View Postthe bike starts without any issues but while riding it stops with a crank and then u have to bring the bike to standstill (Neutral) and then press the ignition switch... it starts but again few mins it stops.

Thank you Dinesh for Information.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostStarting with choke is not bad at all when you start for the first time
My bike does not start without Choke but my very old Activa does that
.
guess I have to use Choke for few Months and when it gets old and smooth it will start without choke.

I think same too, I have noticed less than 10 KM/h on 2nd is issue, till 10 its fine.Originally posted by JS16 View PostRelax, you need to get habituated to it. Happens with me as. Let the bike complete the first service mate. Its not an issue. Engine is very new.

ram air intake now make sense for spark plug .
I asked of engine oil because every where , literally every where, it has been mentioned that always run new engine with mineral oil.
as in booklet it has been mentioned to use fully synthetic, I guess they have filled the same fully synthetic engine oil to bikes. (need to ask the showroom).
need your input guys..Do Rev your heart in out or on treadmill After revving you bike's engine.A free flowing and high revving heart will give more happy miles too :)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Pune Peepas.. a matte Grey shaded bike is up for a dekkho on nagar road Rishabh TVS showroom...
Looks massive and awesome at the same time...
The speedo had this ABS light on a non abs bike... also there seemed to be a screw position for 3 screws on front disc set-up which makes me believe an ABS could be mounted afterwards... pic attached..
I had booked an ABS/FI/Pirreli but now thinking of the base variant for 1.08 and upgrade it with ABS and Pirrelis as time passes by... Only thing i miss on is FI.
but what i gain is a cheap powerful commuter by 10K at least. and will get a quarter liter thing for highway fun.***Correct me if I am wrong :)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
If you are referring to 10KMph in 2nd gear as stalling, then iam not sure u can regard this as an issue. I haven't ridden 200 RTR but i guess the reason for stalling could be the gear ratio is in such way that 2nd wont allow speed below 10kmph.Originally posted by CosmicSpeed View PostI think same too, I have noticed less than 10 KM/h on 2nd is issue, till 10 its fine.
