Bro for that clik sound they chenged my rear macwheelOriginally posted by fernsruben View PostHey there, what a stiffer suspension does is reduce arm pump and keeps the bike balanced when it concerns the SR 150. Ultimately the feedback received provides more traction for the wheelbase hence your shaft rotations will be done justice to with quick response.
A softer suspension would decrease feedback and reduce required traction. This would lead to a slower pickup which would in turn lead to more strain on the engine leading to unnecessary combustion and hence a drop in mileage.

I did face a similar problem, tighten the screw that keeps the unit from moving towards the right under seat area. Keep doing that at intervals since engine vibrations can loosen up the screw. You could also use locktite or a spring washer to prevent this from happening.

There are two kinds of "clicking sounds" that come from the rear:
1. Wheel Shaft.
2. Roller/ CVT setup.
The wheel shaft makes such a sound given the free-play it requires to spin. The wide wheels put some stress on the shaft and hence over time there will be some unnecessary pre-load dampening which results in the shaft surface hitting the anti-friction ring.
Secondly, due to a wide CVT variator and bell assembly, the rollers tend to be a bit lose at times causing that distinct 'clatter' that all SR's face. Something to get used to sadly.

Has anyone faced the following problems as of now?
1. Thudding sound over road bumps or potholes.
2. Squeaking/ squealing from rear wheel/ front wheel over bumps/ potholes.
3. Atrociously loud clatter from CVT box.
4. Unbearable vibrations from the front fairing.
5. "Dhap" sound from the front area due to suspension compression upon applying front break.
6. Horizontal wobbling on handlebars.
7. Vertical angled wobbling on handlebars.
8. Infrequent clicking sound from rear wheel.
9. Wobbly wheel/ tire.
10. Unbalanced swing-arm (squeaking or loss of stability).
11. Bike wobbles on swing-arm and rear suspension.
12. Morning cold-start issues.
13. Over-vibration of body on idle.
Do reply with a comment on that particular issue with either:
1. A query.
2. A solution.
3. An idea/ suggestion.
4. An experience with the SVC solving any of the above issues.
I have compiled the above considering complaints from customers in Goa and Tamil Nadu. Working on creating a thread specific to address answers and solutions to specific issues faced with the Aprilia SR 150 and SR 150 Race Edition.
Also to be noted is that the new batch released in June/ July has a tweaked suspension and re-designed bushings for the suspension, swing-arm and axle. The SVC also claimed that Piaggio seeks to introduce a slight re-design to the wheel (not aesthetically or design wise but rather technical aspects of width and drum area CNC carving).
Also to mention, I have literally dropped off my vehicle to the SVC around 25 times due to constant never occurring issues. Have had the rear wheel changed 5 times and now the tires. Clutch components replaced, disc brakes and wheel shaft. The SVC is yet to have a look at all the bushings and the suspension.
As they said thr was in problem in rear wheel in bikes of 1st 6 months.
If the sound is really present
They will replace ur rear mag wheel
New wheel installed by them [emoji116]🏻
U can also see the difference on it

The new wheel will present you with the same sound after a few weeks. I had received the new wheel and softer suspension in August. The frame and suspension and wheel aren't in sync.Originally posted by Lalit Suryawanshi View PostBro for that clik sound they chenged my rear macwheel

The new tyres however have a good grip and better cornering since they're hard compound based.Ride responsibly. You only have one life!

Update! So I had SR's mag wheel changed in August. It's been few weeks and the new wheel to is causing the clunk or click noise. My front suspension too has some issues. The scooter is with the service guys again. They claim I am the only one who is facing issues on the new mag wheel. I'll post more info as I get it.

How good are those tyres for wet grip?Originally posted by fernsruben View PostThe new wheel will present you with the same sound after a few weeks. I had received the new wheel and softer suspension in August. The frame and suspension and wheel aren't in sync.

Since they're hard compound based, initial burn in will be required to roughen and soften up the rubber. But the tires are prone to skidding. So some caution there.Originally posted by Rajas Sheth View PostHow good are those tyres for wet grip?

Oh gawd! Well, they've replaced the 'new design' mags for me twice. Same issue within 3 Months. Piaggio has gone mum on the issue, called me up and shifted the responsibility on the SVC. Worst part, Piaggio doesn't seem to be sending spares to SVCs.Originally posted by Sargehere View PostUpdate! So I had SR's mag wheel changed in August. I presume it's high time all owners with similar issues raise a consumer forum complaint together, drop by your views.Last edited by fernsruben; 10-23-2017, 05:08 PM.Ride responsibly. You only have one life!

Uhh. U need to browse through the thread, would be beneficial. But never the less, the noise comes from the rear wheel. Refer thread for details.Originally posted by yazami View PostHi. i have been getting some clicking sound from the rear side of the scooter while riding from that past couple of weeks. the svc guys said its from the kicker but i am not satisfied with their response. i sometimes get that sound even on smooth roads. anyone facing similar issue?Ride responsibly. Hey! I have similar metallic clicking problem from rear wheel. I contacted Piaggio and they forwarded the complaint to svc. Svc told me that the rear wheel will be changed and I would have to wait till the wheel arrives at svc because my rim is red and they did not had it.Originally posted by fernsruben View PostSince they're hard compound based, initial burn in will be required to roughen and soften up the rubber. Will the problem resolve after getting the wheel changed?
If you guys are taking any actions collectively against piaggio then take me in!
Thanks

Yes they do have a tool to check the rpm. Whenever I take my SR fir service they connect some device and adjust the rpm.Originally posted by jermm_83 View PostDoes anyone know if the svc has some sort of tool to read the rpm of the engine? How do they set the idle rpm to factory specs, hopefully with something more than feel.

The sound is coming from the rear mag wheel. Take your SR to the service guys. They'll replace it under warranty. There is a manufacturing defect with the rear wheel.Originally posted by fernsruben View PostUhh. U need to browse through the thread, would be beneficial. Yes, I was right. The mag wheel again! They have replaced it today, will get my SR tomorrow afternoon. I hope this one doesn't end up sounding bad

There is some major manufacturing or design defect with the wheel. I had a chat today with the service guy. According to him the issue arises after working on brake-liners. While the senior representative said it is just wheel itself. Let's see what Aprillia has to say. I have sent them an e-mail regarding the same. I'll Update soon.
