Since last few days I am using kickstart to fire up the engine. The clicking sound is not heard because of that.

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
i have a race and find that between 70-80 there is quite a prominent wobble from the front, so much so that i am not confident going above 80.
Any ideas and suggestions guys?Tyre pressures were up to spec.

Could be a problem with the bearings or suspension. But there is a catch. I have noticed when riding at higher speeds, the scooter tends to wobble when hit by winds sideways. I can't say that is the reason for sure though.Originally posted by jermm_83 View Posti have a race and find that between 70-80 there is quite a prominent wobble from the front, so much so that i am not confident going above 80.

Sorry dude, but no pictures unfortunately. They had sent the wheel back to the plant. The wheel does take a lot of hit due the stiff suspension. Why just the wheel, on my second service they changed the rear axle screw because it had fractured! Even the chassis was a little loose. Due to the stiff suspension the whole scooter takes the hit!Originally posted by mitz View PostThank you buddy. Now that's more logical explanation to it. Wish the service center guys could explain it the similar way to dozens of others who ask the same question (as told to me by SVC guys) apart from saying it's normal in all aprilias. Nevertheless all good.
I can relate with rest of your concerns and while i can live with the most of it without a sweat, only the vibrations at idle irk me a bit. But that's okay as well for rest of the package that the SR 150 is.
Thanks buddy
Any pics of the rear alloy damage. I had some concerns with the alloys taking most, if not all the beating with that stiff suspension. Glad you got that sorted

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Its a bit alarming to see the number of issues cropping up in the bike at around the 1 year mark since launch, not only in old bikes but new ones as well. It doesnt look like Aprilia is doing anything to address these issues either. I had sent an email to Aprilia regarding some of my concerns almost two months ago and not received a response even after sending a reminder. Is there an alternate email address to the one on the website ? This gives me some concern as to whether or not they will tackle any issues that may arise in the future or with a dealer/service center.
Lets hope they launch the SR 125 soon and atleast some of the issues are resolved. I would expect a better suspension setup, the stiff one in the SR 150 seems to be negatively affecting the longevity of other parts as well. Maybe they could retain the stiff suspension on the Race version and a more comfort oriented one on the regular version.

Spoke to a dealer a few days back. He expects the SR125 to be launched after 3 to 4 months apparently. So not anytime soon

The SR looks beautiful in white. Congrats on your purchase. How does the scooter feel now? And what are your comments on the suspension and reliability of engine?Originally posted by Journeykanth View PostThe sleepless nights' wait is over.. Finally.
Having lusted for the aprilia RSV4 for years, i never thought owning an aprillia will realize so soon.
The day pricing was announced rushed to the MOTOPLEX showroom and booked it.. The day call for making payment was received, bunked office to accommodate the payment formality... bugged the sales person beyond limit.. And now she's here..
The striking looks and performance to match with, this SR 150 is worthy of all the praise it has got all along.. Experienced it first hand while taking delivery and riding back home.. Throughout the roads, the signals in Society.. Definitely happy and overjoyed for this purchase... And then a new bike coming home is always special

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Did any of you guys get the extended warranty for your SR150 ? I spoke to the dealer & they said it can be bought from SVC during the service. With so many problems cropping up so soon, I'm sure the extended warranty will come handy after two years. Any idea on extended warranty details like price, coverage etc ?

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello all,
Did a 400 km round trip this independence day. It was really a joyous ride and my machine performed beautifully. I have owned her for about two months now and I won't lie, the scooter sure does have quite a lot of issues. The issues that I have been facing are not very different from other people's issues. But I will still go on and mention them anyway.
- Condensation in the instrument cluster, headlamps and indicators. (minor issue, goes away pretty quickly)
- An annoying clicking (khat khat) sound from the rear of the scooter. (something that concerns me the most)
- The headlamp dims if decelerated and then again accelerated abruptly (something you will have to do once in a while in corners)
The Universal problems
- Speedo error.
- The headlamp is meant only for city driving.
- Startup issues, never starts in the first kick.
- The suspension! It is excruciatingly painfully stiff.
- Faint rattling noises in bad patches of roads.
- The rear suspension rubs against the rear mudguard.
- The tyres are meant only for on roads duties! (Beware)
The Goods (In my opinion)
- The engine
- The brakes
- The dynamics
- Cornering abilities
- Stability at high speeds (clocked 115kmph)
- Endurance (cruised at around 70-80kmph for 50-60kms without any issues)
So, my current odo reading is 1900kms and after this trip I sure have noticed a lot of change in the engine. It is running much smoother now. And the mileage figures are rather good with my scooter. I use the fuelio app to keep track of my monthly expenses on fuel and my vehicle's consumption according to which my monthly average is of about 36kmpl. Not bad for a two month old!
A few photographs will follow now. Happy riding to everyone!

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello one and all! After a lot of contemplating , thinking and thinking harder , finally upgraded from my TVS Jupiter. On the 21st of August , picked up an SR150 Race , here in Hyderabad.
I wanted a bike initially - so I test rode the Hornet , Gixxer and FZ , and decided that I wasn't satisfied riding any of these machines. That was until I set my eyes on the Race , and it was love at first sight. I went ahead and made a booking and luckily enough, got spot delivery.
I have clocked 100 kms so far , and I must say , it's hard keeping this machine under 40
. I will attach images of Kireina (That's what I call her) down below.
Writing this thread to express what I feel and also post some questions I have.
What I love - 1) The look - Boy oh boy is she a stunner in every angle. The red alloys , the RS-GP paint scheme , the overall styling , you just cant not appreciate the looks of this motorcycle.
2) The engine and exhaust note : The exhaust note is more of a "love it or hate it"thing and I personally love it. There are some doubts I have which I will post in the cons section
3) The tyres - Upgrading from the Jupiter , the tyres feel heavenly. It is so easy to manouver and take turns.
4) Front disc : The front brake feels so good , yet again coming from the Jupiter's drum brakes , the disc brake is a blessings.
What I don't like : 1) The engine never starts up in the first kick (My Jupiter always does). Also , there is some slight metal noise and it vibrates a lot when moved from start. Is it the same for all of you.
2) The back brake - The existence of the back brake makes no different , in all honesty.
3)Suspension - Nothing to complain here though - it's known for a fact that it's stiff.
4)Switchgear quality- I maybe nitpicking now but my Jupiter's switchgear feel way better.
Accessories I got - Saree guard , side crash guards , floor mat , mobile charger (pending). I also got insurance for free.

Congratulations.. the race version is indeed a beauty. I always wanted to get myself Honda unicorn or CBR250 Repsol edition just because of the personal choice of such race scheme paint but that never happened..Originally posted by itsmeshrivaas View PostHello one and all! Update on my experience so far till my first service at 500+ kms and 25 days of city riding
The engine starts effortlessly nowadays with a single touch, no choke needed. I have to give it some gas to idle the engine without letting it die but that's about it.
Was quoted Rs 550 for first free service in Thane svc & 1200 for usb charger. After some haggles & discussions, the charger was for 890 odd thanks to info from this forum. Right hand side mirror was broken so replaced at 300 including labour. Got the service done in front of me & the svc people didn't mind me waiting in the customer lounge with a clear view of my SR being craftily worked upon. Hoping for better economy & engine performance in coming days, so far the FE is less then 30kmpl in traffic. Brakes are phenomenal but tyres lack the confidence in wet slushy roads of mumbai. All in all, pretty happy with the purchase & enjoying the rideLast edited by mitz; 08-27-2017, 05:23 PM.

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Thank you
Also a request to those in the group. I'm really worried now. Until it reaches 20 kmph , it vibrates and becomes smoother only 20 kmph , the engine i mean. In fact at any speed , when I let go of the throttle and then raise it again it vibrates. This has got me worried. it never starts in the morning without choke , and some times even dies out. What do you recommend I do?

Points 1,7,8 , even I'm facing. Any fix to them yet?Originally posted by mitz View PostSo i just bit the bullet finally and got myself the baby Aprilia yesterday. Booked last week & delivered in 4-5 days with cash payment. 80K onroad Mumbai price with most of the standard accessories.
Did about 100 kms on day 1 and I did notice more or less similar observations as posted in this thread by other owners like:
1. Heavily vibrating handlebars at idle,
2. Weak headlight
3. Stiff suspension setup
4. Hard seats
5. Uncomfortable for pillions
6. Mileage approx 30kmpl in run in
7. Much difficulty starting up today morning (used all permutations combinations with choke/no choke, kick, self etc as discussed on thread)
8. Heavy engine clatter/coughing up while first start in the morning. No idling without a bit of accelerator
9. Front tyre tends to loose a bit of grip in mud/slush under strained braking
10. Loud noticeable thuds from front end if you inevitably end up in a anything but a minor pothole
12. IMO, some speedo error going on here, was riding at 60-70 speedo indicated and it does feel like a good 5-10 kmph more but I could be wrong
and the list goes on to some other minor points if one wants to nitpick further.
Thanks to the forum and some good online reviews, I was well aware and expecting much of these aforementioned points so no surprises post delivery. I would wait some more time and a couple of more hundred kms before i form a better opinion on the machine.
Loved the nimble handling, stressfree smooth highway cruising, spectacular braking (rear brakes are responsive as well unlike general consensus), no undue rattles and squeaks, fantastic fit & finish, beautiful chunky and confidence inspiring tyres, stylishly compact design & graphics IMO, relatively fresh looks on the streets etc
I'm pretty happy with the choice I made with heart over mind. Hoping she ages well over time with some kms on her odo and some official services to flush out the minor nuances to be dealt with the suggestions from fellow SR 150 owners here.
Ride safe,
Cheers

4,6,7,12,13 , yes.Originally posted by fernsruben View PostHey there, what a stiffer suspension does is reduce arm pump and keeps the bike balanced when it concerns the SR 150. Ultimately the feedback received provides more traction for the wheelbase hence your shaft rotations will be done justice to with quick response.
A softer suspension would decrease feedback and reduce required traction. This would lead to a slower pickup which would in turn lead to more strain on the engine leading to unnecessary combustion and hence a drop in mileage.

I did face a similar problem, tighten the screw that keeps the unit from moving towards the right under seat area. Keep doing that at intervals since engine vibrations can loosen up the screw. You could also use locktite or a spring washer to prevent this from happening.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
There are two kinds of "clicking sounds" that come from the rear:
1. Wheel Shaft.
2. Roller/ CVT setup.
The wheel shaft makes such a sound given the free-play it requires to spin. The wide wheels put some stress on the shaft and hence over time there will be some unnecessary pre-load dampening which results in the shaft surface hitting the anti-friction ring.
Secondly, due to a wide CVT variator and bell assembly, the rollers tend to be a bit lose at times causing that distinct 'clatter' that all SR's face. Something to get used to sadly.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
Has anyone faced the following problems as of now?
1. Thudding sound over road bumps or potholes.
2. Squeaking/ squealing from rear wheel/ front wheel over bumps/ potholes.
3. Atrociously loud clatter from CVT box.
4. Unbearable vibrations from the front fairing.
5. "Dhap" sound from the front area due to suspension compression upon applying front break.
6. Horizontal wobbling on handlebars.
7. Vertical angled wobbling on handlebars.
8. Infrequent clicking sound from rear wheel.
9. Wobbly wheel/ tire.
10. Unbalanced swing-arm (squeaking or loss of stability).
11. Bike wobbles on swing-arm and rear suspension.
12. Morning cold-start issues.
13. Over-vibration of body on idle.
Do reply with a comment on that particular issue with either:
1. A query.
2. A solution.
3. An idea/ suggestion.
4. An experience with the SVC solving any of the above issues.
I have compiled the above considering complaints from customers in Goa and Tamil Nadu. Working on creating a thread specific to address answers and solutions to specific issues faced with the Aprilia SR 150 and SR 150 Race Edition.
Also to be noted is that the new batch released in June/ July has a tweaked suspension and re-designed bushings for the suspension, swing-arm and axle. The SVC also claimed that Piaggio seeks to introduce a slight re-design to the wheel (not aesthetically or design wise but rather technical aspects of width and drum area CNC carving).
Also to mention, I have literally dropped off my vehicle to the SVC around 25 times due to constant never occurring issues. Have had the rear wheel changed 5 times and now the tires. Clutch components replaced, disc brakes and wheel shaft. The SVC is yet to have a look at all the bushings and the suspension.

9 days of ownership and I'm facing point 4. Any fix to it yet?Originally posted by Minisoda View PostHey so I have noticed some things during 2 weeks of ownership.
1. Condensation in the headlights and indicators.
2. Strange sound as if something is hitting something else from the rear suspension. It sounds like metal on metal.
3. Doesn't give great mileage. I got 180 km from a tank full.
4. Too much vibration at idle.
What do you guys think?

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Its definitely not the winds, also tried balancing the front wheel but it made no difference. The svc guys have looked at it once before balancing and couldnt find any issues upon rudimentary visual inspection and suggested correct air pressures.Originally posted by Sargehere View PostCould be a problem with the bearings or suspension.
