How is the output from the 45 w osrams? How has it affected your reflector lens, battery, etc?

Hey guys I have bought black SR150. Will get delivery in next week or two. What should I look out for other than the obvious things? Anything specific I should check before leaving showroom?

I will be riding the brand new scooter from showroom to my home about 135 km. Is it okay if I do this or should I transport it here? Thanks!

Finally after a long struggle, I got rid of my aprilia sr150. Clocked 8k kms in 7 months and ownership experience was the worst I've ever experienced in my life. This is the only vehicle such left me stranded on the streets 3 times in 6 months. Once the engine seized and the svc replaced the bore gave back. Second time the engine again seized and this time the svc replaced the entire engine. On Friday the scooter stopped at 3am in the night when it was raining. I just abandoned the scooter and hoped someone stole it. Next day I took it to a local mechanic and he told me that there's water inside clutch, brake drum, ignition coil and starter relay. Got a botch job done so that it starts and then immediately sold it off and bought a bike the same day.
I always thought that lack of engine refinement is its character, but actual fact is that it's a badly made machine.

Wow that's really really bad on part of the company, Was it you who had that serious issues with the engine which after multiple troubleshooting attempts failed and finally they got a Engine manufactured with the same engine number in Italy and installed it on the old chassis ? I had read that entire thread and was hoping things would improve.

This is unacceptable,I don't what do they think of us Indians ? As always we have a third class product shoved down our throat forcefully in the name of High-End stuff from a fancy Company !

I was seriously considering this as my next two wheeler, I don't want a bike for various reasons and want to stick to Scoots. After reading the above I don't want to consider until such time that they actually do something about this.

          Regards.

Yes they manufactured a brand new engine with the same engine number and sent it in a box. It came from baramati Pune. Every single part of the vehicle is manufactured in baramati. The box had a price tag of Rs42000. I had posted the pics in this thread.
Guess I'm the only person with 8k on the odo in India for this scooter. I genuinely feel it's so badly made that it can't last for more than 10k kms.

Too little information. For 7500 rupees and risk of voiding my warranty I would like to know a lot more like wattage, lumens, beam throw and comparison to stock etc. Looks good though.

Thanks for the reply, I think i got confused, I remember reading it as made in Italy ! Anyways good riddance.

Like I said I was seriously looking at this as an option to upgrade my current Aviator sometime but now will safely skip it.

                  Regards.

i have clocked 5000 kms and will totally recommend this scooter if someone is interested in a fun scooter. it just might be an odd case, which is expected.

Not affected the reflector at all . It's much better than stock

A few days ago when i was riding it, suddenly i felt that the bike was moving automatically, even without any acceleration. Then i noticed that when i stopped at the red signal, that it really was accelerating without me even touching the accelerator. I had to ride the bike by applying the brakes and without any acceleration as it was moving automatically. This is a very serious issue as it can be very dangerous.
The svc guys after inspecting told me that the wire connection to the carb had been damaged somehow and was causing the issue. they then tightened it and also tied the wire as that it would not happen again, but it again happened today and had also happened a few days back. They are saying that i could replace the it for about 1500. But i would like aprillia to look into the matter and help me out in this case.
Attaching below some pics of the part which they told me were damaged. Also has anyone faced a similar issue?? Can someone give me the mail address of Aprilia India where i could submit a complaint or so??

You should've gotten a call from the service centre, that's what happened in my case

With the little experience I wouldn't encourage you to use both at the same time, because it will drain your battery quicker. I don't think the battery capacity you have now can withstand that much load, as it's not designed to do so. Also you might void your warranty which in my opinion is not safe.

If you still want to go ahead, then I think you will need to redo the internal wiring and alter the circuitry for the power supply and the headlights switch.

The current settings are made of 2 bulbs with one being a low beam and the other a high beam. So theorically each bulb is enabled for only one action, while most of our scooter bulbs are having the 2 in one. If you make the 2 bulbs to work simultaneously, you will need to replace the existing bulbs because they do not have an alternate beam.

If you need more projection, you will need projectors. But there is not enough room for them. I have seen on YouTube someone using a Duke RC twin projector on his SR150. He had to remove the current headlight reflectors.
I can't say how far it worked out for him but he managed to use them.

Led bulb with high and low beam might solve your problem. They are said to generate a decent amount of light with a low power consumption compared to hallogen bulbs. But u need to ensure their design allow them to be properly set in your headlights because otherwise they might not serve the purpose at all, with no proper light cast, and unecessary glare than will become more hazardous for you. It will be preferable if they are just plug and play, without using some other power regulator that will demand some more circuitry work.

The current bulb power is of 35watts for 12 volts each. I suggest you stick to that especially when you want to use both bulb having an alternate beam each.

I hope this will help. All the best

I think you should see under the hood before guiding others with wrong info there my friend.

Alternate beam missing in the bulbs. Is that really something you have checked?

The truth is, the bulbs are just normal HS1 as any other Scoot with 3 points. It's the jack that connects the electrical wiring to the bulb which just has 2 Points.

And yes you can make 2 bulbs glow at the same time with a simple hack. Just connect a wire from the jack on the left holder to the point on the right holder that does not have a wire in it and boom, both lights glow at the same time.

And warranty is not void as long as you don't cut the wires. That's what service center told me. They do agree that lights are useless and also guided me to a local mechanic who can do it without cutting wires.. i.e. jack to jack connection.
